No. Im being honest and harsh. But I promise not provocative. I just felt compelled to state my opinion. First, the food is mediocre. My palate detected overwhelming evidence of Sysco. The apple pie was good, but everything else tasted like everything else. My son and I, between the two of us, had: fried fish, chicken-fried steak, scalloped potatoes, chicken fingers, green beans, corn bread, and cokes. (We have crazy good metabolisms.) The best part of all that was the Coke. It was a good mix. The chicken fingers, while substantial, had a funny (bad) aftertaste and we had to specially ask for dipping sauce, which ended up being ladelled from the salad bar. The prices, in my opinion, were outrageous. It sounds like we had a lot of food, but it really was only two plate fulls. Emphasis on "full." And the price for our two person lunch was almost $29. Insane. But thats not the worst part. The really bad thing, the invisible 800 pound gorilla in the room, is the....... absence. Of anything. Except maybe idle, low, conspiratorial murmuring and the sound of chewing. No music, no cheerful banter, no... nothing. It was almost creepy. Add to that the myriad of dead animal heads on the walls and the pictures, (hardcore 70s style,) of somebodys kids.... it just was weird. It felt like an "eat and leave." Theres no reason for this place to exist except to walk inside, pay money, download some sort of okay food, and leave. There is a cool life-sized stuffed mountain lion. I liked that part. The rest was way shy of "meh.." for that kind of money, Ill go to the square in Dahlonega and find some real food served with actual atmosphere.

For the last night of our first long trip with a newly formed travel club, I was very late booking reservations for the final meal of our trip because of a Resort not honoring our much earlier booked reservations. When I found our place to stay, and mentioned the need for a meal that was also to be catered, I was so lucky Bobby Patel told me about Rose at the family run Wagon Wheel Restaurant. Our travelers had a wide variety of meals during the visit and Rose came through for our last night with the perfect all you can eat fried catfish dinner. The staff were all so friendly and in spite of our arriving slightly early before an earlier group completed their meal, we were seated and served in record time with the freshest catfish catch. Thank you Rose, and staff for making our last meal in the north GA mountains a success.

Be careful if you really expect to have all you can eat on catfish night. You better order as soon as you get the first plate. We did order as soon as they set the plate on the table, and it still was such a long wait for refills on catfish that we finished both our sides and when we asked for 4 more fish for my husband and myself she brought 3 and said that is all we could have right now! Really, did I pay for all I can eat?? I think I did. Whether it was 6 fish or 66 fish if I am paying for fish and eating them in front of you not putting them in my pocket I should get more fish in a timely manner. The meal was not cheap. Oh and our waitress was really not happy to be at work that night. Dec 2 2016

A strange set up for breakfast. Its served cafeteria style like school. Prices were reasonable. They had great coffee and good southern style biscuits and all the sides. Your only choice of eggs is scrambled but they will make them any way you want. It has quaint decor with the stuffed animals. Looks to be really popular with the locals and cops...the cops know the best places to eat.

My mother has dementia and the staff here ALWAYS treats her with great kindness and respect. We eat here often. The homemade thousand lsland dressing is divine! I really enjoy their cornbread (it is not sweet) and on a recent visit, had some excellent fried chicken. I appreciate this local, family owned restaurant and again, I thank them for their kindness to my mother.

If you are looking for good ole southern cooking instead of the same old, same old, you have found it.I am not from the area, but travel to north Georgia every summer. We always eat at the Wagon Wheel because we know we will get good foood. My favorite is fried chicken with all the fixins (lots of vegetables). You wont go wrong here...Good food!

The best breakfast around!! From sausage biscuits to biscuit and gravy with eggs and sausage. Not to be passed up at dinner time either!! Country fried steak rice gravy fried squash green beans and a roll. That barely leaves room for a piece of heavenly desert (yes everyone of then is worth it tho)

A friendly, reasonably priced lunch stop. Ive eaten there twice, and had a good experience both times. They easily handled my group. I will say that this is definitely a spot for locals. I felt like I was the only person who wasnt on a first-name-basis with everyone else working and eating there.

A bit pricy for a cafeteria in my opinion but its always busy. The table i sat at was dirty and had someones old pitcher of tea on it though. Nobody even cared even though they came by the table to greet us. So we didnt bother trying to eat there.

Great Home cooked food, and excellent family atmosphere. All you can eat Catfish?!?! Bring your appetite!!! I think its Friday and Saturday night, but check first. Either way, if you leave hungry, its YOUR fault!

The food bar did not look fresh. We ordered burgers from the menu. They were sloppy but decent. It wouldnt be my first choice but I wouldnt go hungry before eating here.

If youre just traveling through, or visiting a while, you will not find a better home cooked meal than this. And every table has a pitcher of sweet tea ready for you!
