My favorite part about my visit was the service. For being a busy place food came out the window very fast! We waited less than 15 minutes. Hats off to the cooks! Only 3 cooks in the kitchen with a house full of hungry customers. They did an excellent job. Id be proud. My server was great too. They have a wide variety of meals on their menu. I got the Pancake Special ($9.99 I believe). It brought two generous size pancakes, eggs, side of meat (I chose the chicken sausage) and a side of grits which I replaced with spuds (potatoes, sauted green peppers and onions) with cheese (about $1extra). I had no clue how big their plates were! It was like a Waffle House All-star breakfast on steroids, except it didnt bring the toast. The taste of the food was good but the pancakes were to die for, with a little butter on top! Id totally recommend this place to others and Ill definitely be back!

Decent diner food. I got the skillet, and the spuds are supposed to come with pepper and onion, though I saw only one piece of green pepper and barely any onion. Also, they were VERY overcooked...I like my potatoes well done, but most people might not. My toast was dry and cold, so even when I put the room temperature butter on it, the butter just sat on top. Speaking of butter, there was a half used butter in the dish from a previous customer... That was pretty gross. Im glad I noticed it after I had already dipped my knife in but before I put it on the toast. The eggs were good, and the bacon was okay, though yeah, it was all twisted up and it was hard to tell how many pieces I actually got. It was a bit on the tough side. Wish the prices were a bit cheaper. $8 for potatoes with two eggs and another for bucks for bacon. My server was nice though.

Service was ok, nothing great. The biscuit was way too dense, my coworker could hardly eat it and broke me off a piece so I could see. No wheat biscuits for me, thanks. My bacon, 2 eggs, and grits came out quick but the bacon was just twisted, lukewarm, and super overcooked... it was very hard to bite into the tangled little bits (not strips like it suggested on the menu). The 2 scrambled eggs looked more like 4-5 and covered the entire plate, I had to poke around the edges to find pieces that werent terribly runny/wet which Im not a fan of soggy scrambled eggs. Grits, I guess were the best part of my meal but not very enjoyable with the rest of the food sucking. I wish we had gone to a waffle house instead. No return visit for either of us, Thumbs down.

Normally I dont write about a place unless Ive eaten there a few times, but Ive only heard good things about this place from the people that recommended it, and I was not disappointed. I had a turkey club and a salad, turkey was a little dry that was the only complaint I had about that sandwich. The salad was made with spinach which I liked, the dressing options are a bit sparse but it wasnt that big a deal. They had Ranch, Honey Mustard, Balsamic Vinaigrette, and I forgot what the fourth was. The portions were more than adequate, still stuffed as I type this. The service was great and the people were friendly. The atmosphere was jovial and the dining area was bright and comfortable.

We went to Thumbs Up Diner on Mothers Day, even thought we did not have a Mother with us. I was just in town visiting, and we found this place to have some breakfast. This diner was packed with people and a very long waiting list. But they managed to get through the long list and to our name with in about a half hour, which I feel was good. I ended up having the chicken and waffles, and they were fantastic! the waffle was very soft and fluffy, and the chicken was cooked to perfection with a great flavorful batter on it. My wife had never had grits before and ended up loving them! Both our meals were great and the service was fantastic. Cash only, so bring your wallet.

I absolutely love this place! The food deserves 5 Stars... If you want a good ole breakfast, with a upscale twist... this is your place. The only thing that I HATE about this place is that they cant lose the .50 or .75 cents per transaction it takes to make it easier to pay for their customers! For a place of this caliber NOT to accept credit cards is beyond lame. I dont usually carry cash. Its dirty, and unsafe. This is a restaurant, in a prime location, with a line sometimes to get a table, and above average food, and for them to make themselves look ghetto by having a cash only business is absolutely ridiculous.

We were in town for memorial day. We wanted something really good to eat. So I searched for local restaurants and came upon Thumbs Up. Well everything was amazing. Great customer service and excellent good. I had the Ultimate meal which consisted of a combo of fried fish, their signature eggs, shrimp & grits and toast. My girlfriend had the chicken and waffled which was awesome!!!! We waited about 30 minutes to be seated but that was OK. The restaurant was pretty crowded. The only draw back was there was not enough waiting area seating and they only except cash. :( but other than that I highly recommend "Thumbs Up".

This is your spot if youre looking for delicious comfort foods such as shrimp and *stone-ground grits*, loaded spuds, fried catfish plates, build-you-own-omelettes, homemade multi-grain biscuits, and in-house smoked turkey and chicken! Portion sizes are generous as to where you will not leave unsatisfied. Service is prompt and very polite. What more can you ask for in a no-frills tasty breakfast/lunch/brunch spot?! Hours are 7am-3pm. Remember to bring your appetite and cash only. In case you forget, they have an ATM inside and a Bank of America is right across the street in case you want to avoid fees!

Went to pay for the meal after I ate, they dont take debit , cash only they know damn well they could of posted a sign saying cash only at the counter before I even decided to sit. They pointed me to the ATM thats inside the restaurant so I can get cash to pay for the meal. So you mean to tell me I have to pay a ATM fee to you just to get money out to pay you for the meal, what a bunch of BS. The pancakes was as thick as a phone book the syrup couldnt even penetrate the surface. It was dry as hell you needed a sip of fluid after every bite.

Wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I were looking for a great breakfast/brunch spot in the area, and were excited to learn that there was a Thumbs Up Diner nearby! They definitely lived up to our expectations created by the downtown location...the food looked and tasted delicious, the environment was clean and roomy, and the service was fast! Plus, as my guy is a vegan, their tofu scramble was a perfect option for him. Just be prepared for their usual cash-only policy and allow a few minutes to circle around for a parking spot.

I have only eating at the Edgewood location and fell in love with the Yukon omelet....I didnt think visiting the east point thumbs up would be such a significant change and I regret my daughter chose it for my birthday brunch :( are both was near kitchen and we could hear workers in back cursing about order changes and both are omelettes were burnt dry and missing signigture ingredients I will try and visit my original located to see if they still have that delicious taste and excellent customer service that I remember :(
