I went to Mu Lan on a Friday night. It was busy, but not too crowded. It took forever for our server to come over, so the owner took our drink and appetizer order. We ordered a sushi roll for an appetizer. I then ordered Grand Marnier prawns for $14 and my bf ordered panang chicken. The panang chicken came out in 5 minutes - before our sushi had even come out! The server apologized and told us the sushi roll would take about 20 minutes. He left quickly and I did not even have the chance to tell him to take the roll off. About 5 mins later my entree came out - it was about 6-7 medium sized shrimp on a bed of lettuce with some weird white sauce on it. When I tasted it it tasted like mayonaise with a slight taste of orange. About 10 mins later the server came by and I asked him what my entree was as it did not look like what I had ordered. He told me it was prawns with grand marnier - mayo sauce. I told him the menu did not mention anything about mayo as I hate mayonaise and would never order a dish that lists it as a main ingredient. He insisted it did, and when I insisted it did not he laughed and said he would slap the owners hand over the mistake. The owner stopped by our table and I complained about the shrimp again and he laughed off the complaint too. I struggled to eat the $14 shrimp dish with the aid of lots of soy sauce. Throughout the meal it was very difficult to get the waiters attention, so for the last part of the dinner we had no drinks. As we were waiting for our check - guess what came? The sushi! Also, the roll was deep fried which also was not mentioned in the description on the menu. The owner came over and apologized for the sushi taking too long and explained that they had only one sushi chef with too many people ordering sushi. I tried to explain to him that we did not want the sushi, but his limited english skills caused him to only laugh at my request. We got a to-go box for the sushi, and as we were leaving the owner gave me a coupon for a free $3.50 roll of sushi. Yeah, after a nasty mayonaissy $14 entree the coupon for their cheapest roll will really make me come back. The place has great decorations and a nice menu, but overall it is a complete joke.

Absolutely terrible experience. Horrendous customer service. Every time I call I talk to the same rude employee. He huffs and puffs if you are not quick enough with your order and if you pause after each 4 digits while reading him your credit card number (which is a courtesy to them). The same guy has been rude 3 out of 3 times. This last time was it for me. I called to check on my order after the order I placed was not delivered in an hour (I was told 20 to 60 minutes). The guy was yelling at me telling me to just wait longer and that they were busy and they food would be there soon. Then he hung up on me while I was asking him to read my order back. I called back and asked why he had hung up on me and he said I hung up on him....ok? Then I told him I wanted a refund and he told me to stop ordering food from there if I didnt like how long it took. Way to perpetuate the terrible customer service of your people, pal. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. I told him he was a liar, and if he really was a manager he was the worst Ive ever experienced. He hung up on me again. I walked to Mu Lan from my apartment to get a physical receipt of refund in person. The guy who I talked to on the phone was definitely not the manager and continued to huff and puff as I asked for a receipt. He acted like an angry little teenager. It was sad to be honest. I asked him if I had bothered him with my request for a refund and if that was too hard for him to do. He just ignored me. Finally I got my receipt. I tried to call back the next day to speak with a manager and the guy clearly remembered my number because after multiple calls nobody picked up and then my number was blocked. BLOCKED! by this angry little man, lol. How pathetic.... TL;DR...Customer service is pathetic and I would never recommend this place to anybody. Absolutely terrible.

Uppon my arrival i was greeted by three beautiful host, the atmosphere uppon first approach was like arriving to a whole new country, so much culture and vibe, i was surrounded by a number of tranquil water features that helped me unwind after a long day at the office and focus on the peaceful environment, the seating was spacious as I would have felt comfortably nestled in any space given, exspecialy the one i chose as a party of two, the service was hands down the best Ive experienced in Atlanta with a touch of personality and attentiveness one would expect and at any fine dining restaurant absolutely amazing experience! The server had my table served with drinks within seconds of my arrival, though i did not take part of a full evenings three course spread, I did enjoy a delicate teriyaki entre with steamed veggies and white rice, the quasines were well portioned, and quite appetizing. Defiantly a place to build memories, rather your meeting your significant other for a nice meal, or that unforgiving work hunger during a meeting or just looking for the genuine touch you well deserve. Overall quite the experience, I will surely be back!

Food is OK, but delivery is a disaster. I try to be a patient man, but 3 hours is extreme. Called three times to check on my order, and each time it was "out for delivery". When I asked what they would do to make it better, I was told "You can have a free meal next time." There will not be a next time. UPDATE ... FOOD NEVER CAME!! When I called the last time, I was told "We dont know where our driver is" and "you cant talk to the manager because hes b*tching at the employees right now." Because my order was through Yelp, MuLan told me they could not refund the order. I have to call Yelp. Incredibly unprofessional, unhelpful. DO NOT eat here until theres a significant change of management! UPDATE ... 4 HOURS after ordering and being told the order was canceled, the food showed up.

Bottom line: Might recommend with a different server. Visits: 1 Chief complaint: Server was copiously absent, then added an 18% gratuity charge (for two people) without indicating he had done so. Is this restaurant policy? The food: Nice section of meats, both Chinese and Thai style. Food was presented beautifully. Drinks werent available since they had allowed their liquor license to lapse. The atmosphere: A weird mixture between modern and traditional Asian. One might call it "thinly gilded." Comments: I had a good time here and the food was good. I was unfortunately turned off by the server. I might return, but Id turn back around if I got the same server. Id say that "Its okay" is a very good descriptor for my experience.
