Ok, with all the reviews posted, we were unsure if we should try this place. In this area most Chinese restaurants are clones of each other. Same menus with all the expected selections are the typical scenario. If ambiance is all that matters to you, this place aint it. But, it is clean and the food was worth another visit. We would rate 4 stars at this time - We have lived in the area and eaten at many Chinese restaurants over a decade, we are rating this from that point of view. The Won-ton soup tasted good, and the won-tons were cooked correctly (not overcooked) The Egg Rolls were filled with pork and flavor and had a crispy and flaky wrap. The Crab Rangoons were crunchy and creamy, and had great flavor. The Cashew chicken came in a brown sauce with a side of rice and the flavor was better than we expected and we enjoyed it. We also got the Eight Treasure Chicken which had peanuts, cashews, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, chicken, water chestnuts, thin sliced carrots and green peppers. It was also in a mild brown sauce that was very tasty and a bit addictive. The service was friendly as was the atmosphere. They have Tsing Tao if you like Chinese beer. They also, oddly enough, have Red Stripe Jamaican beer, which of course is IRIE ;) We will return since the lunch menu has 63 combination platters and the dinner menu has at least 250 plate selections and at least 45 combination platters to choose from. I would recommend eating here since it was one of the best local places (from Oak Ridge to South Knoxville) that we have found so far. It is not PFCHANGS but $7.75 for a dinner combination plate is a heck of a bargain for good food and a pleasant experience.

AWESOME FOOD! Great prices......dinner combo was the best! Staff is VERY nice and attentive....our drinks were never empty. I love Hot and Sour soup and I am very picky about what it tastes like....I was not disapointed. Hubby ordered Hunan Beef dish with the OO soup.......he was very pleased. I had the Beef/Broccoli......also very fresh and tasty. Egg roll sauce was a bit different than I had in other places....but actually I now prefer this flavor. I also was impressed with the Chef.....he came out to our table and was concerned that we were not taking the leftovers.....he thought we didnt like our food. We are staying in the Hilton and had no way of taking back the leftovers....which made me sad. My suggestion is to plan on taking 1/2 of what they serve home. All in all a wonderful experience.....wish we could go back.

Avoid if you can. I love Chinese food and this is not even close to the best in town. The food is very basic and not well cooked, like they are trying to cut corners. I have tried to give them several chances but I am never happy with the food. Sesame chicken is overcooked and dry, Mongolian beef is chewy and has no flavor. The rice is well cooked but is very plain, does not taste like fried rice at all. The egg drop soup is overcooked (tastes slightly burnt) and has corn in it. When did egg drop soup start coming with bits of corn? I have been to a few places lately that have been doing this and it is annoying. No complaints with the egg rolls but nothing that great either. Their Lo mien is just noodles and thats it, you might as well just eat thick spaghetti noodles.

The hot and sour soup is among the best in the US, and if you order a quart (as I often do) youll find out just how hot it is. Egg rolls are excellent too. Chicken curry is my favorite entree, but I also love any of the lo-mein or fried rice dishes. Chicken broccoli, beef broccoli, twice cooked pork, Mongolian beef and Mushu pork are all good as well. The price is unbelievable for the quality, and the service is outstanding. Dont take the outside looks of this place seriously (its a revamped 90s Bojangles), just go inside and taste. They also have a drive through that is nearly quicker than the Bojangles ever was, with much fresher food. I think Im gonna have to go there tomorrow, before the church crowd comes in.

I am a Chinese food addict...I am a senior and have ate at many Chinese restaurants in my life. This is one of the best Ive ever eaten at. The food is always fresh and cooked perfect. They are very consistent with their portions. I have never had anything that I didnt like, some i like better but that was my taste. I live in Sevierville and wish they had a restaurant here. But to me the drive is worth it. Last but not least the prices are "VERY REASONABLE". I have eaten in about every Chinese restaurant in this area and I choose this one most of all. I do not like buffet style, to me this way of cooking Chinese food dose it no justice. Szechuan Garden...PLEASE DO NOT change your style of cooking.

I have eaten at a variety of asian restaurants in Knoxville and Szechuan Garden was definitely the worst. The server we had was very nice and pleasant but that was the only positive for the entire experience. Unfortunately, I thought the teriyaki chicken would be a "safe bet" but after a couple bites I knew it was going to make me sick. The chicken was undercooked and tasted bad, as in expired. I was dining with three other people, one of which ordered the teriyaki as well, and we all felt a little ill after words. All in all DO NOT waste the $8-$10 you will spend here. For the price you are better off at Cookout or McDonalds.

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken house meal, which came with one of each side (chicken wing, dumpling, egg roll and crab wonton) and egg drop soup. The soup was good -- it has kernels of corn in it -- and the sides were mostly good, but the cheese wonton was unusual. Typically those have a cream cheese filling but this one seemed like a cross between a sweet pastry filling and some sort of mexican cheese. It was odd. I probably wont order those again. The entree was good -- it included pineapples, green peppers and onions, and the chicken wasnt dry like some Chinese places. This is near where I live, so Ill be back again.

Egg Drop Soup was Egg Drop Brine. Worst egg drop and most salty soup in 57 years. Stir-fried rice was simply browned,... no peas, carrots, egg or flavor. Kung Pao was flavorless chicken chunks.with lots of celery and not.much else. Could.go on and on but not worth the effort. Avoid. I suspect many of the high reviews here are self written by the owner, seriously. Sad. Any review here that says the food was good is either a shill and a liar or has NEVER had good tasting Chinese American food! This stuff was disgusting, Three entrees out of three were the worst food our party had ever had.

Read the whole review: When first walking into the restaurant I felt like I should turn around and leave. They are in desperate need of some sprucing up. The walls are dirty. The benches are tattered. The bathroom was gross. The tables were sticky. See the pictures. BUT I stayed anyway. Gave it a shot. And Im glad I did. The servers were SUPER polite and attentive. The service was fast. And the food tasted great! All at a really good price. So while they could use some updating they have the food and service nailed down. I would definitely go back despite the negatives.
