I hardly ever give an unpleasant review of a food establishment because often times Id rather just not give them the ad space in my brain at all. However, I was so excited to try Grub Bar because its in my neighborhood and looks totally fabulous from the outside. However, the customer service and cleanliness of this place on a Sunday night was less than stellar. Forget stellar-it was wack. Im really starting not to like the upscale burger joints where you pay $45 for two combos and two cocktails but are rushed thru the "order-at-the-register-and-seat-yourself" experience. Theres no one to welcome you or advise on the menu so if youre a first timer, youre rushed while the rest of the hungry crowd anxiously waits behind you. So, we finally ordered and sat down but the beverage station was a mess and our table smelled like a stale washrag. The food was good but it took a while to come out (which I was already expecting) but it gave me entirely too much time to ponder what was pissing me off. However, the Back Porch Punch and Crawfish Pistolettes were new to my palate and surprisingly good and very filling. We may return for a night of drinks at the bar one day but Im on the fence about this new neighborhood joint. I think Ill still with ZinBurger at Lenox in the meantime.

My husband and I both wanted burgers and though I had another burger place in mind my husband really wanted to try this spot out. I ordered the bacon cheese burger and fries thinking surely they cant mess this up. Well, I was wrong, the fries looked like Id gotten the end of a bag and they were very small so they were cold in no time flat. My burger was undercooked it was rare. Now medium is my thing (in a steak), but never was I asked how I wanted my burger cooked. My husband had a burger with pull pork on it and the presentation of that burger wasnt good at all. He got onion rings with his meal and they were so hard I thought I was going to break my tooth. Needless to say, I so wished Id went to Vortex which is where I wanted to go initially. Though the staff appeared friendly everyone wasnt doing there job. There were at least 4 tables that had not been cleaned in the dining room. My husband and I sat at a table and called someone over to clean it and the young man did. Needless to say, I truly didnt think our experience would have been this bad but unfortunately it was. Next time we will be at Vortex or for that matter Five Guys either would have given me a burger and fries worth writing home about!

Casual spot. Best for families and quick bites if youre in the area and starving. Not worth a special visit, and it doesnt stand out against other choices (it sits between Chuys Mexican and Longhorn). Atmosphere: There is a large bar on one side and lots of high tables/booths inside, regular tables on the patio, you sit wherever you like. No one greets you at the door, and this can be confusing to first timers. There is an order counter at the far end. You place your order there, then grab a table and wait for your food/drinks to be delivered. You can order additional drinks from the staff that floats around, but have to return to the line if you want to order more food. Food: The staff was pleasant, but the food was underwhelming (interesting concepts like the Thai burger were poorly executed so you just have a burger with a ton of peanut butter on top). The Brussel sprouts had a tad too much oil, the queso was extra thick and not very dip like, the sweet potato fries were too salty....you get the idea.

Decided to come here spur of the moment this past Friday with my friend for lunch. The two teenagers at the front were very helpful with providing us recommendations of what we should order since it was our first time there. I ordered the shrimp burger that was being advertised on signs both inside and outside the store along with a spiked birthday cake milkshake. The burger was actually pretty good and is an actual shrimp burger. The patty is a bunch of shrimp mashed together. The milkshake was good also but I think they stiffed me on the liquor that was supposed to be in it. I was told there would be two shots in the milkshake. There was no way there was two shots in that milkshake! My friend had an issue with her order but the problem was quickly taken care of. They remade her burger and brought her out two fresh plates of fries. They also offered her a free burger, fries, and shake on her next visit.

Cutest little boutique burger bar around! The staff is very friendly and the food is nothing short of great! I have an affection for the chicken tenders, however I have had a couple of their burgers and find them tasty! The Milkshakes are heaven on earth and the fries are always fresh... They are usually always packed (everytime I go there are wall to wall people) and though the food is fresh (and usually steaming hot) there is not a long wait. The wait staff brings your food to you per a pager system (which is wonderful) and they seem to really have sunny dispositions. There is a bar area and tvs all over the place (that usually host sports and the news) Not much of a price difference from the other "boutique" places... but definitely a place to try if you are a burger lover :) Great location- yummy food and fun staff = a winning situation... Enjoy!

I brought my husband and kids here for my husbands birthday. We had a great experience. There are many burger options. I had the turkey burger minus the bacon which was seasoned perfectly. The French fries are shoestring and really tasty. My husband had the scorpion burger and he enjoyed it. The mac and cheese burger was good as well. There are four different kids meals which include grilled cheese, mac and cheese, chicken tenders, and a burger. The side items like French fries or onion rings are a la carte. $4 gets you fries and a drink. Where this spot really is excels is customer service. Everyone was super nice and helpful. My daughter ordered the chickpea burger and didnt like it. When she notified the employee, they gave her free fries and refunded the burger. My family and I will definitely be returning to this location.

Went there for lunch today and waited in line for approximately 10 minutes. After ordering, we waited another 20+ minutes for our food. How long does it take to cook a burger, fries, and chicken tenders? I was really upset about this because by the time the food arrived, it was time for us to leave. Waitress had to do an about-face to go back and pack our food to go. We didnt get to eat there! It seems to me that the running of the place is very inefficient. The staff is nice, but service is sub par. They didnt even check on us while we waited forever. Maybe I was expecting too much? Ive never been to Grub before, and Im not sure if Ill try them again. By the way, the Ghost burger was tasty, but the fries were too greasy. The chicken tenders were good.
