I grew up on "meat and three" joints, cafeterias, and southern buffets. Ive learned that youve got to be either right inside of Atlanta or way outside to get real southern food. I have to give Simply Southern a mixed review. First the bad. Fried chicken was just typical, beef tips were the worst I ever had, no flavor at all! Mac and cheese was fair at best. The good; salad bar had a wide selection although nothing really special. The tea was fresh and good. Cornbread was real good and a treat for this Alabama boy with some spring onions and pinto beans. The Apple cobbler or pie was awesome but some vanilla ice cream would have been a bonus. The service was what you ought to expect, polite and attentive with plenty of yalls. I thought it was a little pricey but not way out of line. Id probably go back when I head back to Lanier for a fishing trip again but I wouldnt drive my family from Canton just to eat there.

Just moved to the area and saw this place that always has lots of cars around and thought "wow I bet this is agreat place to eat " My husband and I wanted to go out to eat and I thought lets try this place .Well...The food look pretty but the flavor was missing ! It was the worst southern food I have ever had hands down !!!!! I luv me some fried chicken and fried okra but we will never ever go back there ,and you should go either . I have no idea how you can ruin fried chicken and Okra ? Save your money I widh we had !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

I usually dont go by reviews,so after Church we stopped by this restaurant and sadly to say the bad reviews are right. This was not southern cooking at all. The sweet potato casserole taste like can potatoes,mac and cheese was processed, cornbread taste old, however the service was good.The young lady was very nice and accurate. Im not saying dont eat there, be your own judge.

I went in the restaurant after not having been there in several months and spent 23.00 for 3 people to eat. The slaw was hot and sour and so was the macaroni /cheese. I called the restaurant to tell them to go check the foo and they never returned to the phone IT WAS NOT FIT TO EAT Family from 3 miles down the road from the restaurant WILL NOT GO BACK

All-You-Care-To-Eat buffet for about $10 including drink. Southern fare with a decent salad bar, and a daily rotation of 2 - 3 entrees and 6 - 8 sides. Theres always fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. No biscuits, but the rolls and cornbread are still pretty good. Its where I often eat lunch.

I just recently found Simply Southern Restaurant and have been several times since , The food is very good and plenty of it . The waitresss are very friendly and you get that home town feel . It is fast becoming my favorite place to eat !!!!!

Most of the lower price lunch buffets everything is watered-down this is not the case here the mashed potatoes were real, the mac and cheese had real cheese in it not powder

Good. Not great, but good. Buffet for lunch is fairly basic and not cheap but the fried chicken was worth it. Breakfast from the menu is WaHo quality with higher prices.

Excellent fried chicken! It reminds me of a now closed restaurant that I enjoyed during my childhood. Crunchy delicious crust and juicy meat. The keels are my favorite!

Pretty good buffet. Great fried chicken, good sides such as green beans, mashed potatoes, etc. But be ready for extremely long lines to the bar on the weekends.
