The Pearl is one of the best kept secrets of the beaches. Tucked away in a little plaza right off Central Avenue in Treasure Island, the Pearl is one of those wonderful Chef owned restaurants you always read about. You know, where the chef has some skin in the game, because he is the one paying the bills! So, you find a greater attention to details and a level of food preparation that goes beyond cooking. The night we had dinner here, we started our meal with a delicious plate of sauteed conch that was in a garlic herb butter sauce that begged to be soaked up with our bread. For my entree I had their enormous Tomahawk Steak, and my wife had their Seafood Crepes. Both were fantastic, with the steak being among the best Ive ever had. For dessert, we tried their homemade berry and chocolate profiteroles, which were just out of this world. If youre in the mood for something special when youre on the beaches, give The Pearl a try!

Food was nontraditional and amazing. We started with two appetizers: the escargot and the lobster bisque. I was expecting the escargot to come out in one of those trays with the 6 to 8 holes. Nope. This dish was total surprise. It was prepared in a Mediterranean style with olives and mushrooms on bread. Absolutely incredible taste. And the bisque was equal to the best Ive ever had. It was so creamy and full of flavor. Our entrees were not as impressive as our starters, but we didnt take our waiter Nicks (who was a top notch server) suggestions. Dont get me wrong, they were still great. But my rib-eye was a little fatty, and I understand thats the risk you take when ordering that cut and having it cooked medium. The taste was still fabulous. My wife had the lamb chops, which were also exceptional. Desert! Well, lets just say that mouse dish is just awesome. Would I recommend this place? You betcha.

The Pearl is one of the best restaurants that I have been to. The waiters there are very friendly and patient and the chef even came to greet us. You dont see that often or never, when a chef comes personally to say Hello. The food is worth raving about and for very good reason. I came with some friends and we had Appetizers to start off with before the entrees. Both the entrees and the Appetizers are amazing. The breaded shrimp with a chipotle lime glaze was my favorite appetizer and I had the Lobster pasta, which was very delicious. I even tried their fish and it was so good! I have eaten other restaurant food and the food was always dry and bland. At the pearl, the food wasnt dry and it was juicy and flavorful. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting or anyone that wants to go to a restaurant with excellent staff, excellent chef, and awesome food.

One great find in the Treasure Island area. A diverse menu for all tastes. Had the seabass with sauce marseillaise, lobster bisque, Coquilles St Jacques, Tuna Martini, Calamari Salad, and mediterranean pasta ( with shrimps, Artichokes, Spinach, Feta, linguini, etc. ). A feast. Delicious throughout. We grew up in seafood prepared French, Italian, or Moroccan way. This restaurant doesnt miss a beat in getting it right. Great atmosphere. Busy place yet service was prompt. Really hard to choose from the menu so can see ourselves visiting again and again. I spend my life on the road and I find the price/quality unbeatable. Shows the chef and owner are one and the same.

was on a business trip with a colleague & did a google search for a nearby restaurant. found the pearl & saw it had nice reviews, took a cab there, & had one of the best meals i have had (at home or on vacation) the service was impeccable (Nick was our waiter & will only be our waiter when we return) the Chef came out to extend gratitude, and carried on conversation for quite some time as we were intrigued by the outstanding service, presentation & quality of food. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. price is very reasonable for the amount & taste. Will be returning again soon!!!!

We have dined here several times. The early bird specials are a very good value and a great introduction to The Pearls ample menu. Weve ordered from the full menu also and it was fabulous. On one occasion, our guest required gluten-free options. While the menu did not specifically mention GF, the wait staff were knowledgeable and alerted the kitchen staff so the guests meal was carefully prepared. We know they prepared it correctly as our guest did not suffer any after effects. In the cooler months, it is pleasant to sit outside, although the ambiance indoors is better.

The Pearl is by far the best restaurant in Treasure Island and the Pinellas beaches. Karim the owner is an excellent chef and host. The tapas are amazing, I recommend the tagines and the lamb chops. Also not on the menu but worth asking about is the blue cheese pate, its incredible. The entrees are equally delicious; huge lobsters, seafood wellington, seabass, and ostrich stand out. To finish get a cheese plate or the chocolate souffle. If you have not been I would recommend it as your next destination.

We ordered the olive blue cheese pate and it was disgusting, we each took 1 bite and didnt like it, we like olives though. Ok, no problem just take it back and take it off our bill. The server argued with me about how good it is, then the so caled chef comes out and argues with me about how good it is! We said we were leaving, then they gave me a bill for the pate! The fact there were 3 tables at 8pm on a saturday night should have been our first clue.

I go there often with my elderly parents and its always a charm. They dont like noisy restaurants because Dad doesnt hear well. This is quiet enough if you go at a time thats not super-busy. They like to go for early bird, so I havent ordered from the full menu in a few years, but the early bird dinners are yummy, original and a great bargain. Just make sure youre seated by 6:45. Very nice service too.

Pricey indifferent food...the moroccan platter was right out of grocery store packed hummus, pita, olives, etc.....Ordered smoked salmon pasta, lamb entree and catch of the day fish for our mains. It was so bad, it made us sick...we ended up asking for take away box. Then decided its not even worth taking the boxes with us. Avoid it as there are tons of great sea food and steak places in St Pete.

People -- seafood doesnt need to be well done. My server told me that folks were sending the scallops back for being undercooked. I bit into my scallop and forgot about the troubles of the world for just a moment. Take the chefs recommendation -- dont rubberize your scallops! Seriously, this place has a wonderful atmosphere and the food is lovely. You will get what you pay for.

We came for the early bird and were blown away with the taste and tenderness of the food. The salad was yummy. There are 5 choices.....chicken, pork chops, fish, duck, and pasta with incredible flavor all for just $10. My companion was very happy with the $5 martini, the early bird cocktail. We will definitely return.
