This is an update from a previous review listed below. I was here over a week ago, was okay then, gave 3 stars. Today I went back with my daughter and have to change to 5 stars. The staff was on point today. Ordering we got good suggestions from the cashier who was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The waiting time was reasonable considering our order. At the table I couldnt stop looking at the floor employee I think her name was Tamara, running around and assisting other customers ( extremely patient with some). Our food was so fresh, tasty and well served. Kudos to the management having such and incredible improvement. Definitely, recommend this location. The food was extremely overcooked. The chicken was so dry we couldnt eat it. My husband talked to the manager and she took care of it by giving is a fresh chicken. The service was friendly and attentive. The place looks clean and relaxing, good for family including kids. The "Yuca with mojo" was fresh and tender if you never tried before, youre missing a nice side dish. The ripe plantains are sweet and fresh. The white rice, I personally dont like it that much; was to soft and mushy for my taste but the black beans are tasty.

My wife and I came in for dinner @5:00 10/23/13. After ordering I noticed the Grill guy in back while on the line cooking raised his tee shirt to scratch his stomach I guess he was itchey. He did not have any gloves on and did not wash his hands after scratching! Next he walked over the where the french fries are kept, reached in grabbed a hand full and began to eat them while cooking. I reported it to the on duty manager, after telling her what went on she turned and went back into the kitchen. She never returned so I assume she did nothing. My wife and I eat here all the time. But after this we will not return. I can spend my money any where and rather spend it somewhere that takes cleanliness serious. The Manager should have relieved him from his duties until the problem could be addressed. Also all the help handling food should be waring gloves. The Manager at this store did not even get back to us.

Zero customer service from the drive thru cashier....rushing, taking another order before I was finished , acting as if I was on her nerves/bothering her, Rudely asked me if that was it and slammed window in my face. I wanted condiments and she became annoyed and unprofessional. Customer Service should be a course that requires a DEGREE for some people. The manager tried to "fix it"/appease me but maybe some focus should go into PREVENTION. It is Imperative that the employees at the front of your business are on point. Pollo tropical is not the value it once was...price wise, portions or service. I went from a regular customer to a rarely customer because of poor management and customer service. Today was my first time in about 2MONTHS and Its sad to see it wasnt long enough. The short version of customer service to me is.....You gotta make people feel good about spending their money with you. PERIOD

This is my last time in this place, i went there yesterday at 10:50 pm and they didnt have any chicken left, and this is not the first time that this happen to me, the cashier was very unprofessional the way she was talking and playing around why i was giving her may order, then she start talking to her co-worker using very bad words, the place wasnt clean at all and then everybody left and went outside start it talking and smoking and when they back inside no one wash there hands and they all smell like smoke, OMG i think POLO Tropical Management need to look into this matter... i will never eat at this polo tropical again and i will not recommend it to any one because there staff are really nasty and dirty....

Su comida es muy buena, mi la disfruta, pero en las dos ultimas ocaciones no ha sido igual, los tostones y la yuca frita hechos con aceite reusado,dicho esto por un empleado.ademas empleados con lo cabeza sin proteccion.y otras cosas mas. Lamento decir esto.Ustedes son muy buenos ,no lo dejen caer. Lo siento.

Since 1992 in Miami when a Pollo Tropical opened just south of Eureka Drive on South Dixie Highway, Ive enjoyed their grilled chicken dinners. Management at this location is the best Ive experienced in the Tampa Bay area. Their grilled chicken is great and their rice & black beans always have good flavor. You just cant say enough about how consistently good their dinners have been each and every time for the last five years. If I lived closer to this location I would never go to the Brandon Pollo Tropical, where they are slow when business is slow, and serve the smallest "Cornish Hen size" chicken portions anywhere in Florida.

Customer service lacking. Watched a customer wait to have his order taken while, literally, employees walked around him never bothering to either take his order or alert the right person. He stood there shaking his head. I watched my to go order just sit while employees did other things. It appeared that a manager was there but was so busy filling orders that he was unable to appropriately manage the store. A lack of customer service seems to be a theme at Pollo Tropical. Additionally they appear to strongly cater to the drive thru and forego to go orders. If the food wasnt consistently good, I wouldnt go back.

In the last couple of years it has truly declined. They constantly forget stuff in my order in the drive thru. The current staff is rude and condecending. . They take the order wrong then act like its your fault. I guess they dont want to make money because part of running a successful business is having the right, well trained people to represent your brand accordingly. Not everyone can work with customers. Dont they know there are plenty of great eating spots around its the service that makes a place really stand out.

Food is fine but the first couple time I came here I order a couple different items and... i dont get a receipt, dont get a smile, dont get a have a nice day, its just an awkward silence because the girls that work drive thru just suck at customer service.. today there was a nice girl there, surprisingly, that knew what she was doing but come to find out that when I drive off, get home, I notice that they forgot to give me one of the items I paid for. And of course, no receipt to check.. never coming back again, period.

Give it 2 stars for the poor service of the employees in the servicarro, most are Latino "Cuban" was asking for an order and my English is not very good and she knew that speak Spanish could not say "I speak Spanish I can help" then when you get to pay all ceria face. If they are not friendly and do not like dealing good to others working basis for customer ???? It notes that work is no obligation that they guste.Adicional order a salad and either got it

Sometimes its hard to hear what the cashier say because the level from the Kitchen is overwhelming, but at the same time it adds to the atmosphere making it feel authentic. The Chicken can be dry at times but the flavour is great. Plenty of beans and rice. I do like eating here, I miss El Pollo Local out west and this is the closest thing I could find that offers this kind of Flame cooked goodness
