This place is becoming one of my favorites, so much better than the old pizza hut that used to be there. We traded a corporate snooze-fest for a real locally owned place with great character! Win-Win. I dont get to eat here enough. Today I got the Carnitas Burrito during lunch hour and even though this thing is the size of a loaf of bread, I tried to eat it ALL. It was SO good. I couldnt though... The carnitas inside was full of flavor, and (Pro Tip) taking the salsa from your free ships and salsa and pouring some of that on it makes it NEXT LEVEL good! I cant wait to go back and try something else. Chimichanga maybe? Who knows... This place is so cool looking on the inside with the whole "day of the dead" theme - I really love it. The colors are so vibrant and well done. Its a real local destination and a great addition to the city.

Their menu is the same as the one in Jacksonville. Getting into the parking lot to this location is not easy. It almost feels like you are going through maze. I did not notice any outside seating while we were there. The inside had a bit of old with wear and tear look. I tried some different things on the menu from what I usually get in Jacksonville location. Food is of the same quality and the to be the same not local ingredients. The service was slow despite the fact that the restaurant was not that full. It took awhile for us to even get the order in. Its okay even longer for us to get our drinks filled original. No military discount at THIS location. I find it hard to believe that they would only offer that in some locations. There was no wifi when we were there.

My wife and I lived in Mexico for 9 years, where our son was born and raised until we left in 2010. Since then, the food served at Cantina Louie is the closest we have found to actual Mexican food, Quintana Roo style that is (East coast of Yucatan peninsula). The owner and the staff always make you feel welcome and go beyond the call of duty to accommodate your needs. The prices are very reasonable and the food is exactly what its advertised to be; not pretentious, just simply good, with the flavors, presentation and generosity reminding us of when we lived there. If what you expect is Tex-Mex, youll be disappointed...if what youre looking for is real authentic Mexican food, look no further, thats the place to be! Oh, and the tamales on Sundays are the real stuff too!

Came here out of recommendation from a couple we met in Tallahassee. We are on our honeymoon and wanted to try some great food. Susanna was our waitress and she was phenomenal. I had the California Burrito (that thing was massive and delicious) My wife had had a chicken quesadilla (it was loaded with chicken) The cheese dip was large in comparison to most restaurants and only $5 (you can add chorizo for $2). The drinks were really good. Keep in mind this was taco Tuesday so they were hectic and we still had good service. We were really impressed. If you had a bad experience here, I recommend you try it again because I saw nothing anyone else complained about so it mightve just been a bad day. Hope this helps people try this out.

This place was a nice surprise. Weve driven past 100 times at least, always saying , maybe we should try that someday and Im so glad we finally did. This place had a cool, fun vibe. At 6:30 on a Friday night my husband and I were seated right away. The food isnt very expensive and the portions...whoa! Ive honestly never seen a burrito so big. The food was so so good! The wait staff was so so good! I have zero complaints and cant wait to go back here. Plus, if youre a queso fan (like me) youll be in heaven a practically everything had queso on it. YUMMY! My only advice is to go early-ish. We were seated right away at 6:30 but when we left about an hour later there was a lot of people waiting outside for a table.

Cantina Louie is well-deserving of the "best Mexican restaurant in town" the St. Augustine Record often delivers to the relatively young business. This is the place that I will take out-of-town guests to in a somewhat sad display of pride. St. Augustine might be a tourist trap at the core, the traffic might be horrible, the roads might be bumpy, but theres still at least one reason to love this town: it has Cantina Louie, and Cantina Louie is rad. The West Coast burrito is grade-A. Do yourself a favor and get the steak option. It might slow down your heart and advance your age by 4 or 5 months, but its probably worth hopping into the express lane toward your eventual dirt nap.

We had gone past it a few times and not gone in because we figured the prices would be high and we didnt know if the food would be very good but this time we decided to give it a chance and Im soo glad we did this was the best Mexican food Ive ever had I got a burrito with the flank steak in it and it was huge and soo good! And it was very cheap especially for what you get and the waiters and waitresses were all soo nice and did everything they could to make sure we had a GREAT experience I will definitely be driving the 25 minutes to go back here when we want amazing Mexican food I would definitely recommend this place to anybody veryyy presently surprised!! :-)

We are visiting from Houston, Texas where we eat Mexican food regularly. Everything here was great however dont plan on having a conversation as this place is extremely loud. A suggestion for the owners-please put pictures of the meal or list serving size on the menu. I didnt order burritos or tacos because I had no idea how big or small they would be. We did order steak fajitas-2 orders of them for me and my husband. I really wish the waiter would have said something about how large the portions are. There is no way 2 people could eat that. In fact, we had 1 full skillet and 1/2 of the other left over. Such a waste of food and money otherwise, it was delicious.

This is one of St Augustines best Mexican restaurants. It is billed as "authentic Mexican street food." Im not really sure what that means. I can tell you its flavor is very different from the typical Mexican restaurant. When visiting go hungry, share a meal, or enjoy the leftovers, because their servings are massive. Their services are top notch! Always greeted with a smile when you come in and leave. Your drink will not sit empty, even during peak times. The aisles allow plenty of room for individuals in wheelchairs, scooters, or walkers. This is a great family environment. For those who enjoy a cocktail, their margaritas will hit the spot.

Garbage...The worst wanna b Mexican food of all time. They brought my steak to my table in less than 5 minutes, which means they put a weight on top of it and cooked all the juice out of it and it was like chewing on leather. The portions were small and the service sub par. You could hear the high schoolers conversations cooking in the kitchen and laughing, very unprofessional. I spoke to the manager and informed him how they should cook a steak properly and he just smiled and carried on. No offer to refund or anything. Stay away. BTW it was $20 including tip. I cant believe I tipped this guy, and he was the manager....Stay away.
