This is the only Chinese Restaurant we go to because we were unable to find another good one around the area since we moved here a couple years ago. It is more suited to takeout. There are only a couple tables there- more for customers waiting to pick up their food for take out. I usually get Chicken and Broccoli Combo platter with garlic sauce (not too spicy.) Sometimes we get Lo Mien and/or Sweet/Sour Chicken. The egg rolls are good as well as their white rice and pork fried rice. Most of the time my chicken and broccoli comes out perfect, but once in a while it has no taste because they dont add enough garlic sauce. I recommend you make sure you are very clear and make sure they read it back correctly to you. They will tend to say they "got it," but insist they read it back to you so you dont get disappointed. Usually the young kids ring you up at the cash register and process your credit card, but I never had any issues with that. Ive never had to wait for my food, even with a "ready in 10 minutes" call in for take out.

Update: Food is back to awesome & we are back to ordering at least once per week. Thank God the food we knew & loved is back! Agree 100% with review from Thumdar Thumdar. I was looking to see what happened to this place, as I haved ordered food from there for over 7 years. After a lull of not ordering for maybe 2 months, my husband and I ordered our usual. It was AWFUL! Everything had changed - food was very oily and the quality was poor. Thought it was a fluke and ordered again - same thing. Food is vey different, and we clearly noticed the people were different. Will never order again. So sad, as it was the best in town when the old owners were there.

I enjoyed my experience on Saturday 5/21/16, the Fried rice used is made with authentic white rice. Not that shim sham yellow rice stuff. I find it very hard in this area of Florida to find Chinese Restaurants who actually make their fried rice with WHITE RICE. For that reason I give 5 stars. I will next time ask they put a little more soy sauce to brown it up a little bit with some oil. The scallops and beef was also wonderful (in a brown sauce). I enjoyed the experience. I will return. Clean and courteous.

Very fast delivery time, but by far the worst Chinese food we have EVER had. Ordered General Tso chicken, heavy on the batter and very light with no flavor sauce, it tasted like very old grease that the chicken was fried in. Also ordered Krab Rangoon, terrible, was fried in old spoiled oil as well. Had to throw out $15 worth of junk and order from another establishment. NEVER order from here if you want edible food.

It used to be excellent BEFORE the people who ran it moved back to China. The new ownership makes TERRIBLE food. Its unreal. The last to times my family and I ate here my dad and I got sick. Clearly they almost never change their cooking oil. Its sad to say but this was the only decent Chinese food in this area, but now its gone.

Please give them a try if your considering it these people are great at cooking and are very kind. The prices are reasonable and Ive never been disappointed in any way. The staff are very friendly and make the good extremely fast. Get a meal from the lunch menu and eat it at the botanical gardens nearby it makes a great lunch.

I have to agree with thundar , golden star use to be my favorite take out Chinese but the last few times I was there it was horrible I didnt know what was going on , they have always been great then I heard they switched owners what a bummer and the whole cash only thing seems a little fishy to me.

I drive all the way from South St. Pete just to eat this particular Chinese food. I usually only leave bad reviews. Im taking time out of my day to express how amazing this place is. Seriously check my history this is one of like two amazing reviews. Wow I love this place

Tried the food 4 or 5 times. not very good. I order chicken and mixed vegetables did not like that so I tried chicken and Chinese vegetables. The chicken looked and tasted like it was boiled in water. Not going back.
