Now to start off, I used to work for arguably the best Chinese restaurant in Pinellas County Ming Wok and Grill as the delivery guy so my expectation of Chinese food is very high. I have been looking everywhere for a place that could compare to not only the menu items, but a place that served some of the meals that were cooked daily for the employees. I finally decided to try this place, and it ended up being exactly the kind of food I have been searching for. My girlfriend and I went Friday Sept 23. I had a dish (I forget the name) that had a deep fried chicken breast served on top of roast pork and Chinese vegetables and she had the Chunk King Pork. Both dishes were fantastic, and the portion size was huge. The bill with 2 main courses 1 soda 1 water was a little over $20.00. I would recommend this place to anyone.

This is the second time we have had food from this New Hong Kong Restaurant and it is still dreadful. The worst Chinese food we have had since the last time. The food is old and the shrimp chow mien was a couple of shrimps in cabbage - UGH! The spring rolls were greasy and two were very dark and tasted old, as if they had been cooked a week ago and left to sit somewhere. This restaurant should be checked for old, bad food as I am sure some of their food has been hanging around for months, at least thats what it tastes like. DONT ORDER ANYTHING FROM HERE. We thought that since they had changed ownership the food might be decent - It isnt.

if you are ever sick, get a pint of extra spicy hot and sour soup. It will straighten you right out.delicious and $ 1.75 Wonderful soup. I moved here from the city of San Francisco.I was used to the best. all i found here was stupid signs in strip malls advertising " New York style" Chinese food..WTF is THAT> Nasty greasy garbage. Then I found New Hong kong. Huge portions of beautifully prepared, delicious food. I have been a regular costumer for 6 years now. try it once. you wont be sorry Ron and Connie are right. the woman in front IS a hoot....lol oh ya. they have free delivery within 5 mi. and just expanded to seat more guests.

First, I have to say, my family has been going to the New Hong Kong Restaurant ever since it opened around 20 years ago and it hasnt changed a bit! The service is, and always has been excellent.. make sure to say hi to Helen (the owner), she is one of the nicest ladies you will ever meet! Additionally, on top of the wonderful service the food is superb. I would recommend the General Tsos Chicken or the Shrimp and Lobster Sauce, I have never gotten a dish that wasnt amazing! I personally love the New Hong Kong and I will always go there for a great meal with wonderful service!

I ordered from China Taste for the first time tonight, new owners, new name. We ordered 4 large entrees plus egg rolls. spring rolls, chicken rice. Everything was excellent and flavorful. The egg rolls and spring rolls were perfectly crispy. Our only complaint would be we like our chicken rice cooked a bit longer and darker, like pork fried rice, so next time I will request it that way. My pepper steak was so tender, not at all chewy like most restaurants. Bourbon Chicken was excellent also..I will definitely return and suggest this place to others.

My husband has been going here since he was a kid. The owner, Helen, is very sweet and the first one to jump in if you need something. The food is fresh and very good. We highly recommend the Krab Rangoon & Eggrolls! Fried rice is great too. They have a large, clean dining area but you can also order to go (they deliver). There was a rumor going around that Helen had sold the business but shes still there and still putting her heart into her food! If youve never been, try it out. If you havent been in awhile, stop in and say hi!

Tried this place today for the first time because the places closest to me just arent that great. After reading the reviews I figured itd be a good place to try. The lady who took my order also delivered it to me. I didnt catch her name but she was so nice and friendly both in person and over the phone! She was willing to deliver even though she knew there were closer places to me. The food is great! I absolutely love the egg rolls! Nothing to complain about here. I will definitely be ordering from here again in the future!

Ive always loved New Hong Kong. Its always good to go to a Chinese restaurant where everyone understands each other. They have the best egg rolls that I have ever eaten. Real Hong Kong style food. Mei Fun is a great Hong Kong style dish with rice noodles and this place does it very well. I dont know what happened to the last reviewer but that is a very unusual occurrence.

Wow, just visited this new Chinese restaurant, used to have another name, now called China Taste, new ownership, nice people, anyway, I had the orange chicken, wonderful flavor. I also had there spring rolls, excellent, hot and crispy and some fried dumplings, again, wonderful. Everything excellent this first visit, I will definitely be going back again!

Good food, inexpensive lunch specials, and generous portions. The pork fried rice was a little dry, but it was nothing a little sauce couldnt fix. Update- I took a break from Asian food for a while. I came back a couple months later and the lady remembered what I liked to order, general tso chicken. Great food, friendly, reasonably priced.

I think Andrew Zimmer wouldnt even dare eating this nasty thing! Ive had some bad Chinese food before but this is just indescribably bad! Out of four different orders four were bad. Not only was it horrible to look at but the taste itself was terrible. All in all I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Had take out for the 1st time here and the food was without any flavor. Bland and salty. Had to drink a lot of water for many hours after eating this food. There are many better i n the area .Reminded me of something you could cook at home....not Chinese at all.

Never had worst food in life. Ordered the lomein and one spoon is at its take for me to throw away the rest. Terrible to the point I have to warn anyone who wanna try them. To the owner please try harder for clean and more tasty food. Thanks

Other than the fact that I ordered over and hour and a half ago and still no food in sight... I couldnt tell ya how it tastes... Something more expensive than other Chinese restaurants。Will never order from here again.

This is my favorite Chinese takeout/dine-in restaurant. The new owners have done an awesome job. The food is fantastic. I really like the combination plates. Friendly owners and great food, Ill keep coming back.

China Taste is not the New Hong Kong. The food here is amazing. New Owners, New Recipe,. When you leave a review please dont have the two restaurants confused because they are very different
