Worst Cold Stone Ever. Arent all of these franchise supposed to be up pace, Clean & proper? Especially since it is on the busiest street in Sarasota, Florida. My Husband, Sister & I went into this god forsaken Cold Stone to indulge in some delicious treats for the evening of November 17, 2013. For one There were two employees there but only one of them were actually trying to attend to the customers. The other was just walking back & forth in & out from the back room to the front room. 2nd we arrived around 7:30p.m. & It seemed like everything was put away, My sister ordered a Churro type ice cream which took 5-10 minutes for them to pull the Churro out of the frozen freezer bag & into the mini oven they had. Which I may Add, They didnt use any gloves to handle any of this. He used tongues because we kept starring at him. When he made me & my husbands ice cream, he half assed the way they mix it around on the cold metal piece. 2 turns? Not enough ingredients, They didnt even use proper measuring spoons, they used plastic utensils that you buy at your local convenience store. & on top of that we were charged $15.80 TWICE. Thats about $31.60 just on ice cream. I am now going to dispute this second charge with the management. Please, If anyone wants to have a tasty treat, especially in the form of ice cream BEWARE OF THIS COLD STONE.

As a former employee at this specific Cold Stone on main street, I can honest and open about the quality and service. The Ice Cream maker and freezer are are horrible condition often not being cleaned properly and there even being old, moldy ice cream frozen to the shelves where this fresh stuff is kept, and we failed almost every inspection along with the poor management and service often done by 16 year old kids that sometimes cant handle the rushes on weekend nights. We also dont actually put away any of the ingredients at night, we leave the ice cream uncovered in the case and all of the toppings left out in the open so they get older and more stale faster. Im coming out and leaving this review so that you can know in the future not to spend your time and money supporting this specifically owned restaurant, as I said i used to work there for almost a year and the customers had no clue what the real cold stone is

The ice cream is pretty decent, but I can honestly say that the place smells awful (I know that its the plumbing throughout the entire strip, but still). They always seem to be out of something, and I know its not the employees fault, as someone whos been in retail and yelled at for not having something in stock when that employee has nothing to do with the stocking situation in the store, I can sympathize. I know a few people that work there and theres a lot of sketchy stuff that goes on there.. They get a lot less than minimum wage. I mean, if you really want the ice cream, go for it, otherwise, I suggest someplace a bit cheaper elsewhere. Did I forget to mention that this place is hella expensive? $5 for a small ice cream? REALLY??? I miss the store on 41.. Everything was so much cleaner there and the employees were so nice. And Cheaper!

Owners are not watching temperature on creams as they were melted on the edges in their containers of the display case. Restaurant was very warm and cream and facility was dirty. All products on display looked of poor quality. Staff friendly enough but not trained well. Staff had no idea what the difference in weight was to a Like it or Love it! Really? If the Owners are wondering why business is not what it used to be or could be try training, cleaning and cooling the facility PLUS get the display case cooling at the proper temperature. Your losing tons of money with a soupy product!!! Wont be back but I hope and pray the owners get on this and improve it. Great location for lots of business and the product line was a good choice just needs a watchful interested owner on some easy corrections.

If I could give it less then one star I would. The owner lets mix-ins rotate and stay out pass their due date and just tells his employees to change the date. The mix-in fruits always look strange. Barely pass inspections. Some workers never wear there uniform and even open toed shoes. There is ALWAYS something missing or not stocked. The ice cream melts quick and the place is always is a mess. Some workers even have friends that are loud in side BEHIND THE COUNTER in street clothes that arent even hired. This isnt a place I would suggest you to go. Terrible management. This place really blows! WORSE JOB EVER. The manager is a cheap Indian guy. Being on Main Street you would expect a little more. AVOID THIS PLACE!

The most horrible ice cream experience ever! I used to get ice cream here on a regular basis but this is the last time. There was a hair in the ice cream. The chocolate, sweet cream, and cake batter ice creams were all too melted to serve successfully...oh but they tried. They were out of dipped cones but they had regular cones, which was fine until biting into it. It was so stale. After feeling nearly every come in the shop, they found one that was not stale. They transferred the melted ice cream into the new cone and then topped it off with unmixed, melted ice cream! It was gross. I walked outside and threw it out. We should have left when we saw that most of the ice cream was melted. Never again.

The ice cream itself was good but thats it. Walking in it smelled like fish or trash or something, not quite sure but it wasnt good. Wanted to walk right back out but had a 5 yr old with me that needed to use the bathroom & had her heart set on ice cream. The bathroom smelled worse & there was no soap & it didnt look very clean. The overall store didnt look clean. There are also only 3 tiny tables inside & only 3 chairs, 2 of which were already in use so we had to go outside. Its the middle of summer & 95 degrees out, not the best for ice cream. I wont be going back.

I really enjoy cold stones ice cream - the texture they get by "folding" or mixing the ice cream on the ice cold granite just cant be topped but for some reason this particular cold stone location in sarasota seems like they lack a consistent service system, Ive come in multiple times where staff members have been late so the current staff is short-handed and of course service takes much longer. Im ok waiting here and there but I look forward to this location picking up the pace and hiring the right dependable people to keep the place running efficiently.

No words in the English language can quite explain how amazing Cold Stone ice cream is. It is almost like you are eating whipped cream when you eat their ice cream; that is just how rich, creamy, and pleasing to the tongue it is. I honestly have never, ever tasted ice cream this good. The best flavor is their cake batter. It is best to eat this ice cream when you are alone; your facial expressions may be a tad inappropriate if you eat it in public.
