This was the worst experience ever. First, I call to place a Togo order and as Im placing the order they tell me they didnt have any jerk chicken, Cajun sausage, or sweet potato souflee. What they didnt know is I was outside in the car placing my order and my husband walked in to pay but I was still on the phone placing the order and everything I asked for the cook was sitting next to her texting on his phone telling her that he wasnt going to open up anymore food to make our orders, yes this was 10 minutes before closing but Voodoos close at 9pm not 8:50. So we were going to settle for whatever they had even though we were spending 30 odd something dollars but the cook was so freaking rude that my husband just told them to cancel the order, I guess the cashier was surprised when she found out he was there for my order and the cook was saying no to everything in front of him while she covered the phone. This is unacceptable because we come here every week and get the same thing. We started coming close to closing time because earlier in the day they cheat you out of your portion size compared to when they first opened. I wouldnt recommend this place to nobody and the cook should be fired. He lost money for the company and now has a bad review to a business that couldve been potentially good. Why hire people that dont care? 10 minutes to closing and I cant place an order. Thats pretty pathetic.

So, the bbq is descent but the portions you get for the price is steep. All 3 times Ive been here I get surprised by what I payed compared to whats in the box. Even some of my co-workers and friends have been surprised and disappointed. $13.96 for so-called 5 ounces of greasy, thin, limp fatty brisket, sliver sized saucers of veggies and a small muffin sized piece of cornbread is just not what I expected I guess. I took pictures and will send them if requested. Maybe every once in a while Ill go back but not as often as I have been, thats just too much money for my salary, sorry guys. If this is an issue that shouldnt be, then I hope my review gets it resolved for everyone but if this is how your restaurant prices and portions your food than I guess its just not for everyones budget.

Went here today looking for some BBQ with Cajun flair. Food was great, I had the red beans and rice with spicy cajun sausage and it was very good, well prepared. The atmosphere and staff were friendly. If I wasnt leaving Pensacola I would definitely go back. Afterwords we got the white chocolate bread pudding which was perfect! the sweet tea was great! we also decided to get a Po Boy slices, the meat was super tender almost like pork belly. These guys know what they are doing so if you want to get authentic bbq check them out. The price is very good for what you get! It might be pricier than a cheap buffet or Po Folks but your getting good hearty food which is much healthier. So look at the additional cost as health tax.

Went for the first time this week. Its located in the university town Plaza where target and publix is on 9 mile road. Inside was clean. Nice New Orleans decor. I got the pulled pork meal, it came with 2 sides, no drink, but I got an extra side. I got mac and cheese, gris gris greens and corn bread pudding. The food was really good the greens had a good kick to them. The corn bread pudding was really good. Pulled pork was moist and served with your choice of bbq sauce. The mac and cheese was average. The had a decent size seating area of colorful chairs. They sold some merchandise too.

Do not be dissuaded because of the location (strip mall). VooDoo BBQ & Grill delivers consistently excellent BBQ at a reasonable price with the kind of atmosphere usually only found in small well-established local BBQ places. Their brisket and pulled pork are outstanding and their red-beans and rice and po-boys worthy of a healthy approving nod from New Orleans natives. Pensacola has in desperate need of good BBQ places and VooDoo delivers. The complement of the friendliness of the staff combined with the excellent food is top notch!

Love the food and customer service! Lots of sauces to choose from and the BBQ is delicious and moist! I recommend the monster wings and voodoo chips for something different. Their corn pudding is one of my favorite sides! There is even a limited selection of beer (in cans). The seating is both indoors and outdoors, and this is my only complaint, as it is not the most comfortable seating around, but it is ok. The decor and music is all New Orleans and very cute! All-in-all a great place that is family friendly!

Great food and an awesome owner and employees. Everyone is always smiling. My favorite dishes are the BBQ shrimp, red beans and rice, and pulled pork. And I tried the ribs for the first time yesterday, and they were outstanding too. Not only is this a great place to eat, but they support the community by partnering with local charities and community organizations for fund raisers. Just an all-around great place!!!

Just had a great experience with VooDoo! Food was amazing. I had the gumbo, a hot sausage poboy, and an Abita beer. Place was decorated perfect and the staff was unbelievable! The men and women working here have embodied the soul of New Orleans and brought it here to Pensacola. I lived in New Orleans all my life until Katrina displaced us to Florida and theres nothing like getting a taste of home. Absolutely perfect!

We found out about his place at a Jambalaya cook off where they took first place I would like to add. By the way that is still one off my favorite menu items. I also get the half chicken and the pulled pork both are wonderful! I also use the catering service and it is and office favorite for employees and customers alike. Keep up the good work!!

Brisket was cooked great! Lot more fat than wanted. Wished they trimmed it better. Still hungry after spending 16 bucks for lunch. Not much food portions. Gumbo was mostly rice and broth. Sweet potato soufflé was too dry. Hate to give a poor rating. Maybe I just ordered on a bad day. Nice atmosphere. Will try them again and update.

Smoked pulled pork with spicy gumbo and delicious corn pudding. Parish burger is huge and tastes great! Husband loved the Jambalaya. Dont pass up the beignets or white chocolate bread pudding either! Every employee was personable and beyond competent!
