Another one of many "bad customer service" experience reviews. My wife and I were looking for a 50th birthday cake for my wifes birthday party. We wanted something more than just a supermarket cake. After researching local bakeries we decided to stop by Annette Cakes. We walked in Saturday morning and appearently there was a cake workshop going on. When we walked in It felt as time stopped and Annette was not happy. (There was no sign posted at the door indicating "Workshop in progress". When we walked in, and after Annette paused briefly and stared us down, she greeted us. Immediately my wife and I looked at each other as if confirming with each other silently that this lady was not a very nice person. We explained briefly to Annete that we were looking to order a simple cake for about 40-50 people, and we need it by August 19 (14 days later). Annette reminded us that she was a "custom decorator" (as if we didnt know that already) and asked us if we had a picture of the cake we wanted. Boy, she was very unfriendly and condescending by now! We said " No, thats what we are here for, to discuss our options". Her husband (I think it was her husband) immediately and very willing to help. He sprung into action and started getting a computer ready. By then Annette was standing there just as unfriendly and unwelcoming as she could be. My wife and I looked at each other again looking puzzled with this ladys bearing and demeanor. We finally decide to just walk out. Annettes cakes can taste "delicious", but this lady should stay away from her customers. Her husband should be the one to handle the customer service. She is rude, arrogant, and to a certain degree condescending. My advice to Annette, look at how many "bad customer service" reviews you have; this is not a coincidence. Your arrogance is going to eventually kill your business. No cake will ever be worth putting up with someone like you!

I havent even gone through the process of ordering, because the phone conversation was absolutely horrible. Worst customer service ever! I have been emailing various bakeries to send ideas regarding our wedding cake. I was told that in all her years of experience, she has never been this confused about an email. I informed her that those were just ideas, and I would love to further discuss an overall design with her. She then told me that before I come in for a consultation, I need to get my designs together, choose a color scheme, cake topper, and an actual design. I thought thats what the artist does??? They help you choose an overall cohesive design AFTER you have shown them a few of your ideas. She then insinuated that I have a lower budget simply because Im a "DIY Bride". She was extremely rude on the phone, and I honestly "felt bad" for even emailing her. How can you make clients feel welcome if youre making them feel guilty for even contacting you? I usually NEVER write bad reviews, but this phone call was absolutely terrible. Please work on your people skills, better yet your client skills. Unfortunately, they lost out on an order for 150 people. Btw, we had NO BUDGET. After reading all of the reviews, at least Im not the only person who had this experience. I guess being rude on the phone is a trend with this business...

We are from Ohio and decided to have a destination wedding, intimate and personable. I arranged as much as I could before the wedding from home but knew there were a few things I didnt want to do until I got to Orlando a week before the wedding. The wedding cake was one. I didnt worry whether or not Id find somebody to do a cake, but secretly prayed it would be a nice one (that wouldnt get wasted because my reception was small and one placed I called told me they wouldnt do a cake smaller than one for 100 guests). But more importantly it had to "taste good". When I called Annettes cake the conversation from beginning to end was beautiful, personable and professional. After the cake was delivered to the reception site, I was notified by the caterers that the cake was there and it was beautiful. They were right. It was beautiful. and just big enough for my guests (no waste) and it "taste good". Thank you so much Annettes Cakes. I am sure you will see me again!

I have had such a great experience I just HAD to write a review. I am a hobby-turned professional cake and cupcake business owner. Every single time I have been in to purchase cake supplies, both Annette and Dave have gone above and beyond to help me find what I am looking for and show me new products I may need. As Im starting my business, I felt comfortable asking questions and they were more than willing to be open and honest about the business side. Even as I had questions about cake design, Annette or one of the other bakers would try to explain and show me how to create what I wanted. I mean, it doesnt get much better than that!! Ive even been able to call them when Ive been in a bind and theyve stayed open for me to pop in and pick a few things up. Its such a difference compared to the "other" major cake supply store in town. I prefer to go here each and every time for the kind of service I get. Just LOVE them! and Ill shout it from the mountain-tops!!

My Family & I planned a weekend trip Florida to visit family. It was my sisters birthday & I wanted to suprise her with a birthday cake like no other. I began my search of the internet & ran into the reviews below! Impressed , I emailed her and I recieved a quick response. We exchanged emails for almost a week before I decided to finalize & take the chance of ordering a cake out of state & because of internet reviews. I DO NOT REGRET IT. The customer service I recieved was phenomenal ! When I arrived to Florida, I discovered that Annettes Bakery was located an hour away. When I arrived and saw the cake , I was extremely pleased. When my sister saw the cake she was ecstatic. The cake looked and tasted absolutely good ! Thank you Annette for yor patience & creativity. I am so sad the cake is finished :( . The cake was so moist & good, but not too sweet! I hope your business continues to grow . I will definately recommend her to those in the Orlando area !

I am VERY disappointed with this place. The cake I picked out was Minecraft. They did exactly the picture I asked for. It looked amazing! My problem is, they made a 6 inch cake for my 9 year olds party! I went to pick the cake up and seen it. The lady told me I told her 10 people were coming. Which I Never said that, and I told her that. I didnt have the time to go back and forth with her. I spent $113 on this 6 inch cake. I guess I should never pay up front again. After the party, I went back into my email that I sent her before I called. Even in my email I said for 16 kids. And even on the phone I said 20 people all together. I need to feed all 20 people. Even her telling me this 6 inch would feed 10 people, it didnt even do that. My son ran out of cake before all the kids could eat it. Some went without. There was nothing I could do. I will be getting this taken care of and will never ever come back to you.
