A hidden jem... Sort of like a pocket resturant. They have a special board.. . In the decade plus of occasional dining or take out Ive only ordered off the specials. Youll find two or three variants of fish dishes on special.. Blackened, maahi and or salmon is common. Its in a crummy strip mall (for Naples standards) across the street from NCH downtown. Robust flavors, nice portions if not excessive occassionally and cooked with care. A non-corporate, thoughtful little resturant that is so sorely lacking in Naples. They deliver on their fare. Prices are modest (13-15 for dinner specials) and not a formal affair like Nemos or Campiellos. Goofy decor (think Marilyn Monroe neon and flamingos). Hint: as outside dining is out of the question half the year and inside is cramped and a bit kooky ... Call in an oder and take it to the beach and enjoy a sunset. Nice, present, casual waitstaff

I have to say Ive been a loyal, year-round, local customer of Grouper & Chips since I found out about it in 1993 as an employee of the police department. You know food is good when the cops eat there a lot! The food has always been fabulous and was always a special treat for myself or a great spot to bring visiting relatives and friends - all of whom wanted to return at each trip to Naples. However, I have now vowed not to patronize this restaurant any longer as the pricing has SOARED to ridiculous levels. $21+ for a plate of linguini with scallops? Really? Its good - but it aint that good (minimal seating, no view, no ambience - and now, no value at all). Its so disappointing, that I actually took the time to write a review about it.

The food was fresh and prepared to perfection! I love the friendly, casual, family owned feel of the place. 5 star food without the pretentiousness of a white linen restaurant. For lunch we had the salmon special, blackened seafood platter, fried shrimp bashed, fried zucchini, and seafood chowder. All I could say was wow! It is s very small place but I went there for high quality, fresh, and delicious seafood. l Enjoyed it so much returned the second day for dinner. We called order in 10 minutes prior to closing and they took our order anyway. Food was prepared in the time specified and their positive attitudes showed throughout the experience. I will go back when I visit Naples again.

Lots of fish. The most expensive thing on the menu is not worth getting though. Only if you like a bunch of different fish drowning in tomato sauce. But the blackened grouper by itself is awesome, and everything else was too, just my luck. The waitress was Not exactly a friendly person you look forward to seeing again, hence the three stars. I felt like closing time could not come fast enough for her, but she still did her job,..ish, to the minimal. So if you get a friendly waitress and dont order the tomato fish farm, its a great four stars, small place, but good fish.

THE BEST FISH AND CRAB CAKES!! Greetings from the Southeast! We went to Naples a few weeks ago and this was one of the places close to us that had great ratings from Google and Yelp! WOW!!! They were not kidding. Little place but with the Best fish with batter and crab cakes we ever had. The attention was very nice and made us feel at home. Desserts were fabulous! We went back two more times before leaving. I even told them to open up a restaurant on the Southeast Coast - would be a great business!! Cant wait to go back!! :)

I dont think I can find the words to describe how wonderful this place is. The food is exquisite. The atmosphere is casual in a lovely way. And the waitstaff is thoughtful and sweet. The first time we just had the fish and chips. Then we branched out to try other fried items. Today, we treated ourselves to the blackened grouper with linguine and vegetables and the Bouillabaisse. Absolutely delicious! I liked the Bouillabaisse even better than one I had in a fancy restaurant in New York City. Dont miss this fabulous place!

Theres no better seafood in Naples, FL than Grouper & Chips. Limited seating, so order carryout. I ordered two meals to go for my daughter and me and we went down to the Naples Beach, sat on a park bench and watched the waves crash and the sun set. Such a perfect evening with grouper and fries and fried grouper topping a fresh salad. I look forward to our next visit to Naples, and plenty of trips to this fine restaurant.

We were on our way home and decided we wanted fresh fish. We like to eat where the locals eat and this place was filled with locals. We had the Grouper basket and it was delicious! The batter was light and crispy and the fish tasted fresh. Our server was excellent. An added bonus...very clean restrooms. The only drawback is this is a very small restaurant. Definitely worth the short wait, though.

We have been here multiple times and each time is just as good as the last. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The grouper is fantastic anyway you ask to have it prepared; fried, sautéed, blackened etc. My favorite is the crab cake! Absolutely the best Ive had ever!! It is a very small place with not many tables there is usually a wait, but well worth it.

I had this restaurant on my list for some time now! All the raving by fellow reviewers had built up anticipation... The restaurant lived up to all of that and more!! We were looking for a quick bite n some chilled beer today, so we just had the grouper basket and jumbo lump crabcake!! Everything was so fresh and super tasty!! Oh n we loved the service too!!

We found this place while visiting Naples Beach. Stopped in for lunch and had the specials which were cooked to perfection. Service was good and Key Lime pie was fresh! Small mom and pop style restaurant, but great food and service. Looking to get away from the cookie cutter restaurant, give them a shot. Well be back next trip to Naples.

A wonderfully local hole in the wall, this mom and pop restaurant features a small yet fresh selection of seafood, soups, and salads. The interior is tiny, so be prepared to wait for a table or order carryout. Either way, dont pass this place up. It is good eatin with a friendly neighborhood atmosphere for a reasonable price.

Best grouper we have ever had. Small place seats very few, and you may have to wait awhile, but trust me the wait is well worth it. Not cheap but if you price fresh grouper, neither is it. Make sure you eat here while in Naples, you will not regret it. Also try the Key Lime pie. MMMMMM.

It is small, family owned, family run, and has delicious food! The fried zucchini is amazing with horseradish sauce. And we always get the lemon sauce fish dish that is on special. Its a pasta dish with vegetables and your pick of fish. You can usually pick how the fish is cooked too.
