Well, I cannot speak for this location but the one on Biscayne Blvd SUCKS! Horrible service! This place has declined to the service youd expect Dennys as it specifically relates to Management (the tall gentleman that works there). I had the pleasure of being served by our very nice waitress LuLu; however, I made a brunch reservation for 11am on Sunday, days in advance...only to get a VM from the Manager that morning at 9:45am rudely informing me that they were too busy, cancelling my reservation and I would be treated as a walk in. I realized the message was left later that day. What is the point in making a reservation if it is not honored. I get the to restaurant just before 11am and give them my name and reservation details (mind you, I was told I was being "checked in" and my table would be ready - had not heard the VM message at this time). Breakfast was okay, as soon as I paid the check for me & my client the Manager rudely tells me we have to hurry up and leave cause he needs the table. Seriously? I spend my money, barley spend an hour at the table and seconds after I pay you rudely rush me out the door??!!!! To make matters worse, later that day I get an email that my "reservation on OpenTable" was cancelled. I called the restaurant and asked how a reservation that I completed, could be cancelled. The lady who answered the phone apologized and agreed to correct the reservation to ensure that I received my 100 point for the booking; however, days later and nothing has been corrected and the piss poor and rather unprofessional service still annoys me. I use to love this place and was an avid supporter when I lived in Miami and ALWAYS made sure I visited every time I came home with friends or by myself. My tabs are not cheap, easily with friends I run over a hundred dollar tab. No worries, I will take my business elsewhere and encourage others to do the same. It would be nice if Managers working were professional, had manners and were not running around like the place was on fire knocking things over and bumping into people.

When in doubt, I will go to Balans because their food varies from Ok to good. Their service however, sucks harder than a Hoover vacuum cleaner (this pertains to the Brickell location) I went their a few weeks ago with 2 friends. It was a weekday night and pretty late so the place was pretty empty. At the end of our night, I gave the waiter my Balans reward card (now to be fair, he had not been the one serving us all night and I HATE that!) and upon his return, he told me that this was not my rewards card and proceeded to inform me that if I wanted one, I would have to apply for one (rather than steal one I suppose?) and then placed a new reward card on the table. In I formed this very rude and condescending young man that it was indeed MY rewards card. He said "no it is not!" are you freaking kidding me? Do I look so incredibly pathetic that rather than steal a credit card, I would steal a FREE REWARDS CARD? I took the receipt and compared the numbers. He had, of course, inputted the wrong number by one digit. I showed him his mistake and he said "oh" and took my receipt back. Did he apologize? No. He didnt even have the courtesy to bring the corrected bill back. He had the waiter that had originally served us bring it to us. So, not only did our original, semi decent waiter pass us off to this moron, but said moron didnt even apologize.

I have been to Balans in SoBeach and absolutely loved it! So I came here and well...big mistake! Im sure its okay according to the other reviews but I did not have a good experience. It was rainy and humid so we decided to sit inside. My friend and I couldnt help but notice a waitress who I guess was off her shift and getting wasted at the bar. She was loud, obnoxious, and disgusting. She dropped the f*** bomb the entire time and was just trashy. Her hair was greasy and at some point I believe she was a blonde because her black roots where half her head. Not pretty. She passed by our table several times to use the bathroom yelling and screaming, and smelled like vomit. I wanted to throw up. My friend ordered a salad that tasted terrible. My dish was perfect and delicious I had no complaints. The music is great and pretty loud, which I liked but couldnt enjoy it because of "Trashy Mcghee" which is the name we called her. Either that or "big mouth". She was flirting with all the waiters and everyone that worked there kept patting her on the back and lowering themselves to her level. It was like they were cheering her on for being a sloppy drunken loud mouth. It was quite strange their behavior, really. Never again will we go there because of that trashy girl. Beware people!

I had great experiences at this place in the pst but last night my perception changed. Out first server was very pleasant but was going home and we closed out with her to tip her accordingly. The new server was very rude every time he approached the table and to make matters worse, he wanted to charged us for more beers that what we consumed. When I approached him to tell him that he was overcharging us, he became defensive and extremely rude saying that if it was in the bill is because we consumed that. The manager was engage but the attitude was the same, she said that if it was in the bill and the computer, then it was because we consume that and that we were clearly too drunk to remember how much we consumed (I stopped drinking after 4 beers, 3 with the first server and 1 with the new rude server). At the end, the manager decided to take off two beers but we were still being charge for more than what we consumed. It is not a matter of how much the beers cost but the fact that we were getting charged for additional items that we did not consumed and the attitude from both server and manager towards the situation. (TO THE OWNER: please provide me with an email address of phone number to reach out to you) I was out of the country and was unable to reply earlier.

Ive been here for brunch, lunch and happy hour a handful of times. There is a decent variety of food and drinks. It all depends on what you get. Breakfast is good, lunch can be ok. Happy hour prices on food and drinks is a great deal. My issue is with the cleanliness. Ive sat along the bar many times and the counter is frequently sticky and there are fruit flies or gnats or something. Also my most recent visit the person next to me had their shoes off and rubbed their feet nonstop while putting their hands back on the bar. A few employees walked by and noticed but didnt ask the customer to put their shoes back on.

Frequented this place until today. Service was subpar, food was mediocre. Asked to speak with the manager and JEAN was a real jewel. Facts of the dining experience were stated, Jean displayed no empathy whatsoever--I actually dont recall him taking accountability for a thing. After my party expressed how much we eat here but would not be back again, the manager replied "thats fine". Standard tips were left because weve both been in the biz before. This experience was deplorable though. Dont fire Jean, properly TRAIN Jean.
