Suggestions: The Five and Dime, Sweet potato fries Price: $10-ish Pros: The biscuits, gravy, and fried chicken are all ridiculously good; I like the interesting way they identify your order, TONS of seating for groups, even when the place is slammed they move pretty quick Cons: There is practically no way to eat healthy here, its not really a problem but you should know before you go, while some people love their mashups I think the ham they use is pretty underwhelming Thoughts: Maple Street is the living embodiment of a rich, southern breakfast. Fried chicken, white sausage gravy, light buttery biscuits, fried eggs, bacon; all of which are incredibly well done. While they do have a relatively varied menu (most items are a variation of their core items mentioned above) I, and most people I know, would recommend the Five and Dime. This dish is unreal, it literally screams delicious southern comfort (yes literally, but it can be kind of loud in the restaurant so you have to listen closely). The Five and Dime starts with their amazing biscuits; they strike the perfect balance of light, buttery consistency while still being dense enough that they don’t feel oily. They cut the beautiful biscuit in half and add a giant piece of chicken, fried to a perfect amber brown. I have NEVER had them overcook the chicken and it come out with this amazing crunchy outside and a tender juicy inside. One top of the chicken they add bacon (you don’t really need a description, it’s bacon), a fried egg, top it off with the second have of the biscuit, and smother it all in warm, delicious, savory white sausage gravy. Holy S*** this dish is worth writing home about; the only thing that keeps me from eating it every week is the fact that my workout for the next day is atrocious. I honestly can’t think of much that I would say they need to improve on, and all of it is very personal and picky. Their coffee is meh (but I have to be one of the pickiest coffee drinkers in Jacksonville, and Bold Bean is like 20 feet away), and I really really wish they would make a spicy breading for their fried chicken but I’m aware that would be targeting a very specific niche. They do serve quite a few other items and I would certainly recommend the sweet potato fries with a maple syrup based dipping sauce (trust me, its amazing), but in my mind The Five and Dime is what take’s Maple Street from a good restaurant to one of the restaurants you MUST TRY in Jacksonville.

Im fairly new to the San Marco due to a new job I accepted in the area so finding me and my daughters new go-to lunch spot is almost high priority. I frequent maple street biscuit company fairly often so I was glad to know it existed in this area and have my own understanding on what my "typical" customer experience is feels like. Not only has this location won my business as the new location I will frequent, I wanted to spotlight a specific employee by the name of Tony due to his World Class customer service. Again, being this is my first time at this location I order my typical Five & Dime" (For newcomers this involves your biscuit, perfectly fried chicken topped with maple bacon all drenched in the best gravy Ive had in my life) the wait was pretty normal being that I was in the heat of lunch time, me, my wife daughter sat outside. Although they were quite busy he took the time out to not only remember his customers and provide the most prompt and direct orders Ive ever witness, he took his time to come outside to my family for our orders, and later checked in with us to make sure our experience was nothing short of a perfect 5; again making the experience PERSONAL. He set the bar of what my customer experience should feel like for any business in the area; the moral is no matter how busy or demanding a job can be, keeping a cool level head of duties and expectations, doing things right the FIRST time, and providing prompt service is and has always been key and this young man has not lost sight of that, you definitely have a Service Advocate at your arsenal and definitely deserves the recognition he deserves. Thanks again Tony & Maple Street! Look forward to doing business with you more moving forward!

Made from scratch, made to order, and cleary made with love. If youre thinking about going, just do it and thank me later. With dozens of delicious variations competing to become the best biscuit ever, I chose The Ralphie Deluxe with sausage gravy topped with an egg over easy, a hashbrown cake ooozing with Gouda, and a fresh cup of maple coffee. My breakfast partner in crime chose The Iron Goat, a flaky biscuit topped with sautéed spinach and goat cheese; he also couldnt resist the Gouda hashbrown cake and a side of fried green tomatoes, and hot cup of light coffee. The first bite changed my entire mood from grouchy to savoringly happy. The last bite was challenging as the goodness is piled high each plate, bit stuffed or not, I needed that last bite. The fact that Im visiting from California is probably for the best otherwise Id be there like clockwork every weekend. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient...lines are long, but they move fast and are totally worth it. Be prepared to Hawkeye and negotiate for a table as its fully style and guests seat themselves.

This is a Must Visit in the Jacksonville Area. They have a very unique concept that makes even the grumpy smile. Before you walk in the doors look to the left for the chalkboard sign and see what their question if the day is! Today was "What was your after school snack?" Take a moment to think of the answer because after you have places your order. The staff will ask you the question. Your answer will be your "Callsign" when your order is ready, GENIUS! The ambiance was tranquil and the staff was friendly. I ordered "The Ralphie" Biscuit and sausage gravy with a kick! It was delicious and the "Kick" was just right. They have a great selection of local roasted coffee that you cant find anywhere else. Today I chose the "Maple Tap" The hint of Maple was just right and the aroma made me want more. All their maple products are from Bissell Maple Farm. They even offer a military discount and Cinnamon Pecan Biscuit with Icing! It was delicious too.

Last week, I popped in to Maple Street for a quick biscuit and coffee before picking up my toddler. I placed my order, handed the cashier my card, and it was declined. Not wanting to use a credit card, I told him to cancel the order and I would go call my husband to see what was up. He said to call my husband and come get my food when I was done. I explained that it was unlikely that my hubby would be able to fix the issue in the next few minutes, so I wouldnt be able to pay for it. He insisted that that was fine and said my food would be waiting for me! Turns out, we had something unexpected come out and when I went back in, the cashier (who turned out to be the owner!) had my goat cheese & spinach biscuit waiting for me and reminded me to get my coffee - all on the house! I will be back and I encourage anyone in the area to stop by. Fantastic, unique food, and even better service!!
