DONT WAIST YOUR TIME! Ive been to 4 different La Nopalera locations and this one by far was the worse. Last night was Cinco De Mayo so of course it was packed. Im okay with the abundance of people but the organization was horrible. The host wasnt at a particular post. I had to follow him around to make sure my name was on the list. It seems that he was skipping around on the list seating in whatever order he chose. He wasnt aware of what tables were free, many people just sat themselves when they saw an open table. When my 2 friends and myself were finally seated, the table of course was still dirty so the bus boy came to clean it. He picks up a margarita glass from the previous diners and spills the left over drink on my leg and in my shoe. When I pointed out to him what he did he looked, said sorry and finish cleaning the table. He didnt grab any napkins or try to at least help clean up the mess he made. The waitress took forever to come to our table. There was more than enough staff but majority of them were walking around pretending to be doing something. The only thing that saved this location from getting 1 star is the fact the food was as good as the other locations. When I was trying to cash out my ticket I realized the waitress charged me for two margaritas that I didnt order and when I brought it to her attention she gave me a look as if she didnt believe me when shes the one that took my order. When I brought these things to the managers attention he just said sorry over and over and made reference to the fact that theyre busy because its Cinco De Mayo. I totally get that but this day comes every year so there was plenty of time to have a plan in place to handle the higher volume of customers. This will be the last time I ever eat at this location.

I give one star for the food being good, and one star for the ONE server that was actually working. After being ignored by the hostess we assumed it was a "seat yourself" kind of establishment. Because of this mix up we sat at a dirty table (it was the only empty one outside) for a good five minutes before my friend had to go inside to make someone aware we were out there not being helped. This very tall, slender man, was the ONLY employee there that seemed to be working. He took our drink order, gave us menus, cleaned off the dirty table, and was very accommodating. From there it was all down hill. Our server was rude, talking to her friends at a table and on her phone more than anything. We had to flag her down to take our food order, to bring us silverware after our food came, to refill our drinks, to bring boxes, to bring our checks... LITERALLY EVERYTHING WE NEEDED HAD TO BE ASKED FOR!!! EVEN THE BASICS, LIKE A DRINK... OR SILVERWARE!!!! I was amazed at the complete lack of professionalism. I know its a Lanop, but I am there to eat and drink.. you would think the waitstaff would know that... and bring silverware and napkins BEFORE the food arrives. Not five minutes after... Besides the one gentleman in the beginning, the crew on the floor was AWFUL!!!!!! Bar tenders were rude as well...

Went here for the first time yesterday and was very dissatisfied with not only the service I received, but the quality and taste of the food as well. My server Guan should rethink whether or not serving is the career for him. I ordered the Carne Asada medium rare with no Guacamole and a side of rice. The Carne Asada came out beyond well done and was literally paper thin strips of steak. There was one slice of tomato sitting on a pile of guacamole, the same guacamole I asked to not have on my plate. Then underneath the guacamole was two cups of shredded lettuce followed by refried beans. The presentation itself looked horrible. Despite everything I mentioned I still made an effort to at least try the paper thin beyond well done steak. Needless to say it was horrible. Now Guan is only the server, I understand that he is not the one in the back preparing my meal. When I told Guan that I did not like my food, he actually had the uttimated gaul to get an attitude with me. Like how dare I order food in that establishment and not like it. Thats not what he said, but thats what I gathered from his body lagauage and mumbling words when he stormed off with my full plate of food in his hand. This restaurant is far from authentic and never again will I subject myself to such horrible service and terrible food.

Food was good. Wait staff were not welcoming. There was no greeting walking in the door while the hostess just stood there, as well as nothing said when leaving. They just sat there like they were there just to hang out for the day behind the hostess stand. We sat ourselves at the bar. The staff spent more time playing on their phones than waiting tables. One waitress came behind the bar periodically to check on us, but one guy had to get up and walk down the bar to get someones attention to order a drink and food. Two others, next to us, ordered one round and decided to leave because of the... weirdness. There were wait staff just hanging out talking. I get that there are slow times during the mid week afternoons but playing on your phone while at work and lounging around is not a good business plan. And wait staff should turn the volume off on their cell phones. I dont need to hear that youve received a message every few seconds to a couple of minutes. Again, food was good but the staff could stand to have better appreciation for having a job. Was this an episode of Restaurant Impossible? Im not picky or high maintenance but I would not recommend nor will I be going back.

As a long time La Napalera customer trying out a different location, I am iffy on this particular location. Easy to find but not so great a location. After arriving we were seated quickly and our waiter was very good. The food was as expected; delicious. Although, the customers in the restaurant leave something to be desired. The family sitting in the table across from us basically yelling at each other. Or the two women sitting in the booth behind us talking about how the coke in Jacksonville is not as good because they cut it to much but how the weed is still pretty good. Or maybe it was the 10 minute conversation one of the two women had with a guy that came in afterwards about how her alcoholism has caught up with her and she is off the wagon now. All of this at above average talking volume. All in all, the restaurant is good but the area is a turn off. If only they could move a few blocks south to Atlantic and Hendricks they would fair better. Until then we will not be going back for fear of armed robbery/drug deal gone wrong shooting. The Beach Blvd La Napalera and the Philips hwy location will be our safe favorites.
