No one greeted us at the door. We walked in and the "host" pointed to an area that we could sit at. When we sat down we were hit instantly with a smell that resembled dirty diapers and bleach. Menus were tossed at us, the man could not even bring himself to walk to our table to give us the menus. Everything was sticky. The menus were covered in food and we found straw wrappers in one of them. Took forever to get our food. The silverware had dried food particles on it and when we asked for new silverware they just brought out more dirty silverware. The beverage cups smelled like they had been cleaned with a dirty mildew towel. Due to the fact that they keep the whole place open a pigeon decided to walk in and came to our table. The staff did not even try to shoo it away! When I started to do the shooing myself, they just laughed and watched. That is a disgusting bird walking all over their restuarant and they do not care! Then it took me standing up and flagging our waiter over to give us our checks. The food might have been good but I couldnt tell because I was too busy keeping pigeons away and fighting the burning in my nose from the smell of the place! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Save your money and go to Tiajuana Flats in Riverside, its about as authentic as this place, its cleaner and the wildlife stays outside.

Six of us went on a busy Friday night for dinner despite the negative reviews. We were seated on the patio quickly and enjoyed a drink while waiting on our last person to arrive. Steak and shrimp fajitas, burrito meals, taco, enchilada and Quesadilla w/beef, mushrooms and cheese were all ordered. ALL of the food was brought out very hot. Since I was going to be the one to post a review everyone was asked about there food. The steak (for the fajitas) was tasted by 3 people and all of them said it had a really good flavor. The portion was large, but only came with 2 small shells and tomatoes could had been cut a little smaller (he was being picky about that). The salsa did have flavor and was a little spicy. My Quesadilla was large and very tasty. The others all agreed that the burritos, taco, shrimp and enchilada was good. I also waited until the next am to ask all about any stomach or toilet issues, since some commented negatively about this. ALL answered NO problems. Price was good. Waiter was attentive and friendly, only had a problem getting ice water, drinks were served very quickly. Most of inside tables were not timely bussed but again all of the workers were very busy waiting on customers. Would visit this location again.

Most people come to The Jacksonville Landing for its tranquility, the smoothing vibe of ending a hard days work, and locals for drinks. Anyone looking for this holy trinity I highly recommend taking a gander at Cinco De Mayo, good drinks, good people and good times all year round the tremendous number of times Ive been to this location, Ive never felt more at home. Starting with the fresh to order Mexican appetizers, Queso dip never tasted so good, all to top it off with its famous Frozen Margaritas, coming in a variety of Lime and Strawberry, the latter being one of the personal favorites, drink specials every weekend for the more adventurous clients who are looking for a good end to a good night with that special someone. Regarding your entrees they offer a vast amount covering all varieties of hunger starting with enchiladas, sizzling fajitas, vegetarian entrees if that is your preference, as well as seafood entrees if youre looking for a meal living down south is so famous for. What more to say, Open Bar, live weekend entertainment, good food, amazing view. This should be the first stop for anyone coming to the Landing. Bienvinedos La Cinco De Mayo! 5/5

This place was a filthy mess, from the ripped/food stained menus, the dirty table, the broom left in the middle of the restaurant by the bar, the disorganized and dirty bus station, the nightmare of a bathroom to the nasty kitchen. Everything was DIRTY. We were seated outside, and when I went in to take my daughter to use the restroom, the restaurant smelled like an unflushed toilet. I proceeded to the ladies room and found out where the smell was coming from. I turned around and walked out. I had to walk by the kitchen, which was an eye sore, just dirty and disgusting. NOTHING looked clean. I figured that if they let their bathrooms overflow (and it was!) that there was no way I wanted my family to find out how they handle the food. I found the waiter and told him to cancel my order and walked out of the place. I have never done anything like that before.

This place is terrible. Ive eaten here multiple times, and each time Ive been reminded that I shouldnt go back. The pros include a great location in the Landing on the water, as well as really cheap food (expecially on Taco Tuesday), where you can leave this place with tip for $5 bucks. The problems with Cinco De Mayo first of all is that the quality of the food is terrible, which is surprising as the place appears to be an authentic Mexican restaurant. It really is awful. Even at $5 bucks I wouldnt recommend it. The service is also less than stellar. Overall the restaurant seems to be in disrepair as the fans on the patio are literally disintegrating. I didnt know it was possible to mess up meat, cheese and a tortilla, but somehow Cinco De Mayo manages to do just that.

I went to Jacksonville with my family to visit the place and we decided to eat at this restaurant, cause we love authentic Mexican food, what a mistake!!! My husband and I ordered huevos rancheros, that was ok, my Mom ordered a plate that is melted cheese to eat with tortilla, which came cheese deep, so my Mom complaint that wasnt melted cheese and the guy came with the excuse that they use american cheese, first isnt amerixan cheese yellow?? Second isnt authentic mexican food?? So she didnt eat, cause they didnt want to fix it or resolve the problem, my dad ordered shimp, bad idea, He was bad at night and the worst part I ordered nuggets with fries to my starving 2 yo son, guess what, his food never come!!! Horrible!!! Worst service ever!!!!!! I dont recommend! !!

Not bad place to come too. The inside is a little messy but the out door seating is beautiful. Your right next to the river and the scenery is just something else. Menu items are decent consisting of tacos, burritos, and salads and much more. Serves many beverages for alcohol enthusiast. Service is timely and quick. Waiters are nice and polite. And food taste great. Not bad experience definitely enjoyed my time here.
