Well it started off strange for us my friend was on the phone with his mom and we missed the drive through order & went to the window instead. A big mean looking indian yells out what do you want? Did u place an order we said no not yet She says again in a mean tone what do you want? We said the ten piece 5 leg, 5 wings Then she left a black dude asks us again did u order we ssid no he said what can i get for u..we said the same..then he shows up again i say can I get 2 thigh,2 legs & 5 wings insteed he said ok we paid then waited & waited & waited in rhe hot sun for at least 15 minutes. I walked out of the car for air yet the air was at s stamd still. He finally shows up I ask for buffalo sauce he said yes at first then no more at the end. Mu friend said to his mom ok I have to go eat now Ill talk to you later. Yet him being on the phone at the wrong time instead of placing the ordee threw us off then thw mean indian lady no barbecue sauce. Then they gave us cole slaw. I personally hate cole slaw yet my friend likes it. The chicken and fries was good. Yey they never gave us 2 thigh, 2 legs, & 5 wings. They gave us 5 wings,5 legs. Good food crappy long waiting service. Just know what u want & try not to change it last minute.yet sometimes you cant help it u just want ? Else or extra.. Its best to call & place order then pick it up..if your into that.

My date of visit was 7 12 2017. This is a review from a real chicken lover. Their chicken is phenomenal and flavored well. If they mess up your order, make sure they do not redrop your food and tell you its fresh. I ordered 40 wings with no lemon pepper powder after cooking. They put it on anyway. I brought it to their attention and they dropped my wings in grease and made them extra hard and the powder was now fried into the wings. They never took responsibility for their actions and was RUDE AS HELL! I had them remake all of my wings fresh and waited another 20 minutes. The cashiers and management have the worst customer service skills and attitude Ive ever seen, but what else could I expect from young black girls with no morals working the counter. Whoever the owner is, you need to check your front service or it could cost you a hell of a lot more than you are willing to pay. Will I still patronize hip hop? Yes! More cautious? Yes! Now Im going to eat my fresh chicken in peace!

I visited Hip Hop on 7/14/17. My order was the combo of fish and chicken. Typical Friday evening around 8:00 beginning to get crowded around that time but shouldnt be no excuse for the way my order was when I got home.My fish was fried too hard and it was Brown and hard in the inside. Wasnt sure of what I had ordered just by the presentation of the fish. I dont know if its how the fish come in bills or if its how hard they fry it, but no one wants to eat looking like that. I was very dissatisfied after getting home and thought I was going to enjoy my meal. However after calling back and complaining my order was corrected Thanks to Mo. Mp should be commended for going the extra mile. If it takes More to do some training to the other cooks I recommend he do it. Thanks again Mo you made my Friday nite visit at Hip Hop alot more pleasant. Guess Ill be returning again now that my order was prepared properly.

On most days, these are the best wings in Jacksonville. The buffalo sauce is awesome, and so is the mystery spice they sprinkle on to all of the fried food. The jalepeno poppers are so good that they induce a quivering response at first bite. The only problem with this restaurant is its consistency. Often, they do not have any buffalo sauce, (which, in my opinion, makes the purchase of buffalo wings slightly pointless. I ordered buffalo wings, after all, not fried chicken). The significance of not having buffalo sauce for buffalo wings seems to be completely lost on the employees, who consistently refuse to make more sauce. The service is also slow at times. I wish the owner would hang around more to keep tabs on the employees. Inconsistency can be the decline of an otherwise great restaurant concept. Before ordering, always ask if they have buffalo sauce.

I love this place. The service is slow, but you have to remember they are cooking your meal to order. Nothing is pre-cooked and sitting under heat lights. From my experience, if you are going to order the fish I would recommend you do it not during their rush times. My order was lost in the chaos of the lunch rush and it took the full lunch break (1 hour) to have it finally come out. However, I cant deny that the meal is super delicious and cant give this place any rating less than a 5. If you order fish, I recommend that you let it cool for a bit until the outside hardens a little. The taste of the crust changes to a delicious lemony crispy spiceful flavor. Its hard to describe. I agree that some the employees lack the grace that we are accustomed to in higher end restaurants, however, my husband and I get a kick out of it, and we look forward to someone being a bit rude.

this place has the best hot wings Ive ate in ten years.... not to mention the 20 peice mixed, comes with fries and only cost 16, feeds my family of five and I got lunch for work the next day. I took off a star for their expediting system, I used to be a line cook, and we always had ticket hangers to keep track of all the current orders and the order they came in, they just put them on the counter and its a free for all putting together huge orders. make sure you speak up if you notice your order being passed up, or just avoid really busy times. as hectic and packed as the place was they were still very friendly and were obviously working as fast as possible... Ill be going back a lot in the future, but never again on a Friday night at 7:30. lol

WENT TO HIP HOP FRIDAY NIGHT ON 12/9 I LOVE THEIR FOOD I ALWAYS GO YOU HAVE TO WAIT ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES BEFORE YOU GET TO THE WINDOW I ORDERED TWO SHRIMP AND OYSTER DINNERS ONE DINNER WAS FRESH HOT SHRIMP LOOKED GOOD OYSTERS LOOKED GOOD FRIES WERE HOT THE SECOND DINNER HAS BITS AND PIECES OF OYSTERS FRIES WERE COLD YTHE DUDE AT THE WINDOW TOLD ME THATS HOW THE DINNERS COME I TOLD HIM NO THEY DONT BECAUSE I ALWAYS COME HERE HE REFUSED TO REDO MY ORDER I ASKED FOR THE MANAGER HE SAID NO ONE WAS THERE ALSO THE COLESLAW CUPS WERE ONLY HALF FULL THEY NEED BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS JOINT AND NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE GETTING WHAT YOU PAID FOR I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER MANAGER WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE,.....

Window service was terrible. One of the new employees overcharged me for my meal, and also neglected to tell me that combos no longer came with drinks. Instead of addressing it while I was order I decided to just ask her when I paid for my food thinking that she made a mistake. I had to wait in line 45 minutes only to get to the window and she had an attitude. She still charged me wrong and she gave me the wrong drink. Not to add by the time I got my food it looked cold and dried out. When I called in to talk to the Manger no one answered the phone and when I went in the girl told me there was nothing she could do....... I loved this place and it really sucks that Im never going there again
