We went here with my parents on the advice of their friends. The restaurant was very busy as apparently is typical. Like many reviewers, I do not know why other than the cheap food price. The food is very dated. The restaurant is a great candidate for "Restaurant Impossible". It appears to be poorly managed. The owner barks orders and demeans his waitstaff. He complains to them about not turning over tables fast enough. Despite the perceived delay, there were two hosts at the front counter who just stood around and watched the over worked waitresses without every lending any assistance. We think the hosts were the owners children The owner even orders his customers to move out of the way in the over crowded establishment. The food was bland at best. The only vegetable option with an entree was canned green beans that reminded me of my high school cafeteria; they have not improved with age. The menu needs serious updating, the menu is stuck in the 1970s and the management is stuck in an even earlier decade. I would have rated the restaurant only one star, if it had not been for our waitress. She was very good and maintained a cool head despite being scolded by the owner at least twice. She was friendly with a good sense of humor-making the best of a stressful work environment.

Met with a person to get an iced tea - it was 3:30PM - we were drinking our tea and talking. We had been there for 20 minutes and the hostess asked if we were going to order food, we said "No just tea" and she said we had to leave if we were not ordering food because they were getting busy. There were several empty tables. The tea was $1.75 a (plastic) glass. I will never return. Horrible customer service. Overall rundown place that needs a face lift and the menu is extensive and it could use a lift as well. Gordon Ramsay needs to visit this place and get it whipped into shape. It was my first visit and definitely my last. The gentlemen I met with is a frequent customer and he said he was in shock they were asking us to leave.

Sugarmill Restaurant is one of my personal favorites. Living only about 20 minutes away makes it very convenient to stop in when Im craving a juicy cheeseburger. Some may say the atmosphere is outdated but I personally enjoy the "mom and pop" feel, even at the age of 18. Jackie served me when I went in last and provided EXCELLENT service. That woman deserves a raise for how hard she works. My grandma ordered their Greek salad and I was nervous on whether or not shed like the dressing but it was simply mouthwatering. In todays economy, you just cannot beat their prices and the food is some to rant and rave about. If youre in the area I have three words of recommendation- ORDER A CHEESEBURGER. :)

Came into the restaurant about 4:30 pm for a to go order. Greeted immediately by a waitress who took my order. Purchased 2 Gyro platters. After that it all began the rush was starting however my order had been placed waiting 30 plus minutes knowing my order had already been taken to the kitchen I decided to ask what had happened to my order. At that time I was told oh my you are still waiting. About 5 minutes later here it comes. I then went home sat down with my husband to eat. What a gross mess, the pita bread was soggy and 3 little cuts of meat the rest was lettuce onion and tomatoes. I can not believe they treat the to go customer like this.

So I worked here several years ago, and their food handling standards were very poor. Just one example is the five gallon buckets they would keep eggs in were stored workout lids for upwards of two days. They would then turn an orangey color, and still be served. There are many other inconsistencies as well, including the storage and unsanitary practices with their tea and soda fountain nozzles. This may have changed since I worked there, but I do know that the same owner, Teddy, runs the establishment, and I havent returned to eat to find out!

Will never go there again after our recent experience. Food was good but service needs working on. We were there with our children and my 3 year old had a tantrum as most toddlers do and a waitress that wasnt even our waitress was talking bad about us because of our sons tantrum to CUSTOMERS very rude and disrespectful and completely unprofessional worst employees by far

We ordered their roast chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Very disappointing! The chicken was very cold and the vegetables were just like being taken out of the refrigerator. Instead of using chicken gravy for the mashed potatoes they substituted beef gravy. We were very disappointed.

Whenever Im in Homosassa, Sugarmill is my go-to restaurant for breakfast. Long time family owned, extremely friendly servers, serving great tasting breakfast favorites. What it lacks in glitz and glamour it make up for in the food, sevice, and friendly atmosphere. Highly recomended.

Horrible experience. Ordered from the special menu and get a regular meal instead. Ordered grilled got fried chicken. Then waitress spills drink on a plate of food and only replaces some of the ruined food! Horrible service. Will NEVER return.

Went with a large group, reserved but they forgot, prime rib was a special so several ordered it, all was served except me (forgot), had to wait until they cooked my meal. Meat was under cooked and was poor quality. It is a cheep place to eat.

Ordered roast turkey dinner it came served with generic brown gravy? Yuck! Chicken noodle soup was flavorless and watered down. Server was more interested in socializing than waiting her tables. Much better food anywhere else!

We started to go here when we first moved here and we pulled up only to see the kitchen was visible from the front and lets just say... nothing was clean. The dining area was also not clean. I wouldnt take my family in there!

Great little mom and pop place to eat. Get breakfast all day long. The staff is friendly and eager to please. Great deals on dinners for two, low prices and great food cooked to order. No microwave warm ups here.

I love it here, although my wife isnt a big fan of it. Cheap prices. Good food. Fast service. Two people can easily eat there for less than $20. The atmosphere is friendly, but could be updated a bit.

They have great fried haddock on the weekends and chicken parm is very good too. Those are the only two I recommend, some others are good some not so much. The servers are friendly and food comes quick.

Best fried chicken ever. Cant beat 2 meals sweet teas and desert for $12.88 big list to choose from. Cant find a better deal than that at a sit down full service restaurant. Regular and proud of it

very bland food. the roasted chicken was white and unappealing. I dont think they ever clean the grill as anything fried, even bacon, tastes rancid. Cold grits. The women make good coffee though!

Good family style restaurant with a variety of good food. Clean restrooms. Friendly staff. Owner will work with you on any problem. Customers mingle well with each other.
