HORRIBLE experience!!! If I could I WOULD give 0 or EVEN negative stars! Asked for prime rib, it came out cold! Asked for it to be heated up. And it came back out MAYBE room temp if lucky! When asked by the waitress, if it was OK now and my answer was no. I was asked what she could do for me to make me happy and my answer was I would like a different steak. I was told that she would have to talk to the chef manager. Waitress dodged coming back to my table for at least 10-15 minutes, as it afraid to avoid any conflict. FINALLY, the waitress returned, said so what can we do to make you happy? Do you want something different? I said what do you have that is comparable in price? In my opinion she SHOULD have gown the OK from her manager to comp my meal after the second strike. I picked the rib eye, and said guess I will just have to pay the higher cost for the rib eye. The waitress said actually... no, because I forgot to charge you the up charge for the asparagus... WTF?!? THAT is what you are gonna lead with? I got charged the higher price, and though the steak was hot, if ended up being tough and full of gristle. I was tired of the NIGHTMARE. This waitress, might have been a service issue to a smaller degree, but besides a large portion of the blame being the kitchen. I feel the MAJOR failure is the management! NOT once did a manager, see fit to grace my family with their presence. Not to comp my meal, hell NOT EVEN to apologize!! SHAMEFUL!

Tried this place last night. Ordered to go... checked the top box in my bag to make sure the order was mine. Shouldve checked the second box because 1. They gave me the wrong meal and 2. Over charged me. Today I go in to try something different. I made sure both boxes were correct. When I gave my $40 to the bartender for my $32.89 meal, she gave me $7 change, and when I asked for the $0.11 change, she said that she doesnt "do change" and that they "round up" to the next dollar. Well 1. That is a horrible business practice and frankly doesnt even make sense for my order. I work for my money and should not be shorted even if it is only $0.11. Not to mention the menu prices on google maps is not accurate bc the prices they charge you at the location are about $4.00 more. For example my lobster Mac n cheese was supposed to be $21.00 and I was charged $25.00. When I pointed out that the menu online was not accurate, I was given a snide remark and they did not honor the menu on google maps. It is the businesss responsibility to update their menus, especially on yelp and google maps since these are two very popular avenues that a consumer uses to decide where they will dine. Really disappointed in my service.....AGAIN.

I held a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner at the Black Pearl and had one of the worst experiences of my life. I began to work with the Manager, Chris Patterson, back in November for a booking in the end of December. He failed to email me with the items I requested on more than one occasion. I finally received a completed menu after several calls to him, one week prior to the function. I should have known then that the service would be poor at best. To make a long story short, it took several hours for them to serve us, leaving some without an entire meal due to previous commitments after what should have been enough time to eat a full meal. At one point, the manager even pulled our waiter off of our table to serve others leaving us waiting an inordinate amount of time to be served the main course. After approaching the manager about this, he only offered his counter argument as to why this took place which left me apologizing to our guest and my son (who had returned from Afghanistan) and his bride. My son had eaten there on a few occasions previously and had no problems. I must concur that it is definitely not a place to host a large group and the manager should be replaced.

Okay, dont freak out over the location. The Black Pearl is located in a nest of very touristy type places and I will tell you now all of htem have negative reviews, except the Black Pearl. Lets start with our waitress, Jenna, and I can tell you from experience, a waitress can make or break a dining experience, but Jenna was an asset to her employer as well as a guide for us diners. She knew the menu, knew what sauces were on each dish, knew how they brought out the flavor, and clearly, knew her job. She kept out glasses full and kept check on us without hovering. The Black Pearl grouper is to die for and I highly recommend the calamari. Its not hard to cook a good fish, really, but Ive had calamari that was like squid flavored bubble gum it was so chewy. This was excellent; fried tender and not with too much batter. But the grouper. Tender, seasoned just right, with a few shrimp to help secure the flavor, and veggies that were not steamed into much. These people know what they are doing and they clearly have hired the best waitstaff on the island.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend and decided to give it a try. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very peaceful. (The tables are a bit too close however). The menu has a decent selection of items (slim choices for children though) for the seafood lover. I ordered the seared tuna and was disappointed with the “medium” cooked chunk of tuna that I was served. Another at my table choose the $36 lobster/shrimp platter and was also disappointed by the quality of the food. His was overcooked and dry. In order to not sound too negative, all of us are seafood connoisseurs having traveled the globe and eaten great food. If you want a nice place to take your family and have no picky eaters and don’t mind spending a bit too much, then the Black Pearl is an okay place to dine. If you have a taste for good seafood, Red Lobster will serve you better.

I absolutely loved this place!! Service was great, food was excellent and the view was incredible. We wasted 100.00 the night before at the Crab Trap on a complete joke of a meal and pathetic weak drinks and the Black Pearl was the real start to our vacation. We started with the goat cheese mushrooms and grouper cheeks as an appetizer and they were out of this world delicious as was the frozen margarita to wash it down. I had the lobster mac and cheese for an entree and ended up taking it home for breakfast as I had too much appetizer. My honey had the tuna which I tried and also was delicious and seasoned to perfection. We will be back!!! Probably before the end of our week long vacation- it was that good. You need to stop here- it is worth it.

Our anniversary night read numerous reviews all good of course so we figured wed try it. First off the waiter was very friendly. Started with calamari..was really delicious..then we waited..and waited..aftwr about 45min..i finally flagged him down to order our main entree..we ordered the surf and turf which was a medallion of sirloin and grilled shrimp and the sunset platter which was Mahi shrimp scallops and butternut mashed potatoes...the entrees were just ok nothing special..the scallops were really fishy tasting didnt not enjoy that at all..it was still early so it wasnt busy at all..so if youre looking for consistency in all around service and food i would recommend the Grand Marlin in Pensacola..it Was Magnificent!!
