I struggled with my reason to give Downtown Pizza a 4 star rating. However, my main complaint is one I caution folks here to not to use in knocking down a restaurant rating. So, I must be true to form, acquiesce, and fork up the extra star. Simply stated - by far the best pizza to my liking. Super thin crust, snaps when you bite it, really good sauce and cheese. The 20" will yield best results if you favor NY Style, thin crust Pizza! The texture of the crust and consistency of the dough make for a pizza crust my mouth begs to bite into. Slices require two hands to handle, which I quickly reduce to a one hander. There are some decent pizza places in SWFL, but Downtown House of Pizza stands alone at the top of the dough ball. This pizza place (for me, a native New Yorker) - really resembles and reminds me of what great pizza is supposed to taste like. If you like pizza I recommend you find out for yourself! No disappointments at Downtown House of Pizza. Their other food, while I have not tried any, looks just as good as the pizza! Now the bad: Whether you get a half or a full topping, cost is the same, really? $20 for a 20" pizza, double really? When there are events in Downtown Ft. Myers-they will only offer a 20" pie. Which for me, after trying various sizes there, is truly the only option. Did I mention $20 for a 20" pie??

If you have been out drinking all night would be the only way this food is edible, which seems to be their main business. The staff is lazy and rude. They will tell you it takes an hour to make a pizza while two of the cooks are goofing off doing nothing. They only say this because they want to sell you the pizza that has been sitting there all day instead of fresh pizza. One of the people that worked there actually said "tough ****, if you dont like it leave". That is what we did and will NEVER be back.

First time in downtown Fort Myers, really like the area. Followed a yelp recommendation for this place. And that reviews are true, the pizza was delicious. Classic New York style, with a really great tasting crust. Really laid back atmosphere, with additional outdoor seating out back. Ordered a tiramisu for dessert and it was stolen by my daughter, had to order more. Surprisingly, they had a pretty large selection of desserts for a pizza place, definitely a plus.

The worst pizza Ive ever had from downtown. Who decided it would be a good idea to put random piles of minced garlic in multiple spots on a pizza. Took a bite of nothing but crust and garlic and gagged. Tasteless and digusting My dad got the pizza for him and I yesterday and after we got done eating we both felt incredibly sick. I was up all night with stomach pains and he had to leave work early today because his stomach pains have been constant and unbearable.

My boyfriend just started working there and all he talks about is his job. Even does his callouts of pizza going in in his sleep. Hilarious. We are both from new jersey and i have been Here for 2 years. By far this pizza has taken over the top spot. So delightful on how the employees are such a team and the owner has done so much for us thus far. Thank you jason. I love the pizza. And thank you for all your help it means alot to us.. Last time I went was 4 years ago, wasnt great. Figured I would give it a try... BEST IN THE AREA! The prices are fair for the quality and quantity of the food. If you like a real pizza joint, this is the place to go. As far as "rude" associates, never have I ever had that experience. Ive seen them get stern, but come on, more than 50% of there business is dealing with drunks ordering Pizza. I give them 5 stars and definitely will be going back!

This is northern style pizza, the best Ive found in the south. Big slices made fresh. The salad and desserts are also top notch,and it just feels like a pizzeria. Its location is right in the heart of downtown, and back outside seating area is in the courtyard of other local places, so often you have some form of entertainment, and best of all that local buzz atmosphere that make downtown atmospheres feel so lovely

Excellent pizza; The best pizza I know of. Open late for night owls 7 days a week. These guys know how to cook a pizza the way it should be. The staff offers good service. If you want to buy a slice of pizza they sell it to you unlike many of the other pizza resturants around here which only serve families and discriminate against single people who want a slice.

One word, AMAZING! Being a born and raised kid from up north, New Jersey, I couldnt find a good place to eat pizza down here in Southwest Florida until today! Picked me up two slices, a cheese and a meaty one, and they were delicious! Walking around downtown while I write this and Im getting hungry again, cant wait to walk back to my car and pick me up another slice!

Thankfully, the owner called my partner today and is planning on having a meeting with his workers and looking into changing the protocol/procedures in his establishment to ensure our incident wouldnt happen again. I am very pleased with the owners professionalism and compassion to fix the problem. Hoping to revisit this business again with a much better experience!

Absolutely the best meat-lovers Stromboli ever, with the best-tasting marinara sauce weve ever had. Although the establishment doesnt look like much, its obviously VERY popular - they were truly hopping today! Customers just poured in, mostly ordering pizza-by-the-slice, which looked delicious & was promptly served. Staff was very friendly. Well be going back there!

OMG if pizza is on your cheat day this pizza will make you very unfaithful to your diet. I love NY style pizza...lovely thin crispy flavorful crust and delicious sauce. I have to have either a Margherita or cheese slice first. This tells me everything I need to know!. Great desserts too and the beer...oh the beer ... I just talked myself into going there for dinner

The food was outstanding. The waiting time was bearable. The location is convenient. The area is tolerable. The dine-in atmosphere is flexible, with some seating in the inside and a few benches out back. The condiments was set within reach, in the inside. The restrooms locations were suitable. I only wish that the facility was larger for a few wider walkways.

Best pizza!!! I used to eat lunch here 3 days a week and was never disappointed. (Recently moved away and missing my dhop fix). They have a bbq chicken pizza that is hands down the star followed by the white pizza with garlic. Great staff. Very welcoming and accomodating with good sense of humor. Everyone that works downtown knows this is the place to go!

It was a little past 1am and we were hankering for some pizza. Not only is Downtown Pizza super fast but Alex was amazing at doing it up right with the garlic and sausage addition on the margharita pizza.....and Marc was super polite and organized with keeping track of the late night rush. So delicious. Love this place.
