This place is awesome! The $5.00 lunch specials are great for the budget minded and delicious. What stands out to me is the wonderful wait staff, courteous and efficient. I wind up taking a portion home. Great Margueritas also. The gentleman at the front always polite and makes sure all is well. I have been 5 times now at different times, (lunch and dinner). Always great service and outstanding food portions. Sometimes I wish they would expand, but then, that would take away from the personal service they dish up. One time I left my credit card on the counter and it was returned to me the next day. 2 thumbs up. LOVE IT!

After trying 5 other Mexican places in the West Volusia County area, this is by far the best! Consistent, reasonably priced food, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Its also extremely family-friendly, with very friendly, low-pressure service. The staff makes you feel so comfortable there that you will feel right at home. Also, their salsa is the perfect balance of spicy/mild. (***Try the chicken enchiladas, chicken tacos and rice combination. At lunchtime, its called "Speedy Gonzales, all chicken, with rice..." But, the basic combo comes standard with beef and the choice of rice or beans. Yum!)

Wow is all I have to say. Food is unbelievably magnificent. Price is higher than other Mexican places. But eating a Carne asada here compared to the others is well; makes you feel pity for the other restaurants, they dont come close to this in quality, taste, flavor. If god was to eat Mexican it would be here. Im full fledge American redneck (mentioning only due to I never been to Mexico so I do not know how authentic the food is, I just know it does not matter), this place is too good to be true.

Home style Mexican food. I first ate here 16 years ago when I worked in Deland and its still as good as all those years ago. My favorite is the Chicken Taco Salad, the Taco bowl is always so light and crisp, perfectly seasoned chicken topped with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream (no guacamole for me but comes with that as well if you like). Always get free tortilla chips with salsa too. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and the atmosphere is laid back.

I first ate at mi mexico 9 years ago and I loved it! Every now and then through out the years I would take the ride from orlando to deland to eat here! I just ate there 2 weeks ago and it wasnt the same, my enchiladas rancheras, which is my favorite was not as good but it was ok and the rest of my families food was so bad I wont be back!!! Im not sure if they have a new cook or what but I think they need to figure it out!!! So sad

The food was authentic, and delicious. The salsa is amazing, hot chips and queso dip . Make sure to order the fresh guacamole dip. The side of guacamole is not as good. The prices were reasonable with an extensive menu. The service was fast and pleasant. Two thumbs up and will eat here again.

The fajita steak and chicken was burnt and not served with cheese. When I asked for some shredded cheese I was told by the manager it would be 2.99 for shredded cheese. When I complained about the meat the manager never came to my table to apologize. I will never go to this place again!

Very friendly staff. Comfortable place and very authentic Mexican food. We asked for a lot of substitutions on our plates and it was no problem. Waitress made sure the food was how we wanted it and she was very nice about it. Definitely going to visit again and try something new.

for Mexican food i wont go anywhere else. i tried most of them in the area. the food is good (i had burnt food once but they corrected it right away) fajitas are hard to stop them from cooking on the metal tray it comes on. i bring everyone here if they want Mexican food.

Food was delicious as always but service could have been better didnt feel too welcome almost as if I were a burden. Waitress seemed tired, annoyed, and didnt smile once. There are other great Mexican spots with better service (Tia Coris) I will not be returning!!!

Just ordered take out from this restaurant and clearly it was the worst. Queso was totally runny, taco salad was horrible, taco was stale. Burrito was also bad. Guess it would be better to dine in, but will never order take out from this restaurant again.

Homestyle Mexican. If you like basic Mexican grub that doesnt arrive swimming in a pool of cheese and grease, this place is for you. They have a nice house salsa for their chips, too. Friendly service, very fast.

The food was brought to the table with the appetizer. Very short wait, maybe 10 minutes or less. Very bland and tasteless, almost seemed reheated. The queso fundido was burned. The beer and the Ac were both cold.

It is good cheap mexican food. Better than taco bell but not as good as Tijuana flats. I take my two teenage boys and have a beer or two and we get out for under 30 bucks. Cheaper than McDonalds.

This place is packed everyday for lunch and dinner. They have wonderful and affordable lunch combos. I love the Speedy Gonzales!! Wonderful chips and salsa too. Very fast and friendly service.

On Taco Tuesday, get 5 tacos for $5. Lots of meat and cheese on the entrees. Endless chips and awesome fresh salsa flow free on every visit. I live 45 minutes away and drive in to eat here.

The beans and mole were super tasty but the steak fajitas had almost no flavor, no spices. Carnitas tasted like slow roasted pork without any flavor. Was a bit sad.
