So today (January 31st, 2015) my family and I had our first and only experience with this restaurant. We moved to the area in December and always drive by this place cause its down the road from our house. We tried it and well…. the decorations reminded myself and my husband like the bad tourist area of Cancun… then we got our food…. I ordered just the carne asada tacos (except they are called something else in this place) and my husband ordered a hasenda burrito and we also got to burger kids meals well done… the food looked great coming out except. my one sons burger was almost raw in the center and his fried where night even warm…. we sent the burger back and with in a few minutes they bring a "new" burger out on a different bun. you could tell it is the same burger we had just sent back that they had stuck back on my flat top ketchup and all… last time i checked you have to re make something if it comes out and isnt right. My husband said his burrito was ok ok just lacking a lot of seasoning just like my tacos I had ordered. Then my husband got up and walked away from the table came back and said his stomach was hurting and we needed to go… then it hit me! running to the bathroom so I dont throw up everywhere… after a few minutes of puking/ shitting my brains out I go back to our table where my husband looked pissed saying we need to go… he said he saw a waitress cleaning tables with windex (a health code violation in all 50 states for restaurants) so after we pay we leave and make it home… then my oldest son (3) says mommy i have to poop and sure enough here comes the runs… so looks like this place gave us food poisoning! NEVER AGAIN!!!! between the re cooking of my sons exact burger after they served us a very rare/ raw center. and the horrible after math of us eating this places food NEVER AGAIN! I will also be calling the health department as well…. DONT EAT HERE!!! have great drink specials but Dont eat the food!!!

Ive been here plenty of times before. The service isnt anything special, but today is the last time ill ever go there. Me and my girlfriend went there and we got two margaritas and quacamole, the server brought waters without even being asked. Great job on her but..... My girlfriend then realized that there was lemon seeds at the bottom of her water. Problem was we didnt get lemon with our drinks or the food floating at the bottom either. I notice what seemed like a manager ( some heavy set guy with glasses)standing at the bar watching the game called him over and told him about the dirty glass. We didnt get an Im sorry or anything just a "let me get you a new one". As if though she had changed her mind about wanting a dirty glass. He comes back gives us a new water glass but we realized its was the same dirty glass just rinsed (if we were lucky to have him rinse it out), I mean the glass had sweat on it and we thought this is a fresh glass and it has sweat and water already dripping on the outside. Im in the business and im not an idiot. Ill never come back. If thats how they deal with dirty glasses I cant imagine what the back of the house must be like.

I know why people trash this place, it is always busy. I am a gringo that travels to Mexico I do business with people near Tulum and I have my favorite hang outs. I prefer where they dont speak English. When I came back and went to Tijuana Taxi it was like Deja Vu. I mentioned that to a waitress and she said it should taste Mexican because all of our cooks are recruited from Mexico. Any way, if you think the food is bland you can spice it up with a selection of hot sauces. The beer is cheap. Avoid rib night on Wednesday during the areas because our friends from the north swarm the place. Nothing against Canadians they are really nice. They just appreciate a super deal. They have a fried ice cream for about $5 that will send you rushing for your insulin. It is amazing. I know it is not politically correct but the wait staff are a group of very attractive young ladies. I really hate to recommend this place and make it busier but I have to be fair. I have been there well over 20 times and have never been disappointed. Oh yea and half their seating is outside. I love it!!!!

The service at this place was horrible.We are visitors from Atlanta staying with Miami natives and they were trying to take us to a place they usually go to for Mexican food. First off, our food came out cold. One of the plates had something hard in it and chipped someone at our tables tooth and the whole night while we were eating there were kids running around in circles. The manager for the evening, James was arguing with our friend when we were explaining to him how our service was for the evening and how the food was not up to our expectations and then he had the nerve to tell her "maam, Im trying to be nice". Now, working in customer service myself, I know that was not anything a manager should have said to a customer. He finally decided to comp our meal after going back and forth with our friend for way too long, knowing that we were unhappy with the whole situation. I really had a taste for Mexican tonight but this place spoiled our whole night. Management need to be retrained.

I give it 4 stars for the chimichangas and fajitas which you can never go wrong but 3 overall because some of the things have gone down hill..for example they used to have these monster margaritas that they were known for and now they have standard ones and theyre not as good anymore, as if they lowered the quality. Also theyre guacamole is terrible..i mean how can you mess up guac? i dont know but apparently you can..and seriously $6 for a tiny side of none tasting guac?? thats ridic. Theyre also charging you for extra chips if you want more which is sad.overall its just not nearly as good as it used to be but hopefully they can revamp it. Also bathrooms were super dirty and my husband said that there was a drunk guy peeing all over the floors which we told management and we didnt see anyone go try to clean it..it just makes the ambience a trashy feel..in summary I recommend the chimichangas and fajitas..Hopefully someone else can take over and make it better again.

My Family & I have been long time customers of the Davie location. We have been going probably twice a month for the last few years. Other than the occasional forgetful server it’s always been top notch! Today we were told that there are cut backs & only one basket of chips & one salsa will be given per table. It kind of bothered me & then I was bothered even more when our food arrived & the portions were at least 25% less especially on my sons kids chicken tenders. We called the on duty Manager over to discuss all this & there was no fix other then we are cutting back. It is sad to say with all the money this place makes there is no excuse for this! I can understand from a manager point of view maybe make something like checks under $25 will be charged for more chips/salsa & leave the portions alone for non-season months that may not have the same day to day business. This is enough to say we will not be back!
