Where to start... I ordered a large Dos Equis on tap. The mug wasnt cold, the beer wasnt cold enough, it tasted a little flat, and was garnished with a badly bruised lime slice on the rim of the glass. My wifes fruity mixed drink wasnt very fruity but at least had a decent amount of alcohol in it to mask the bad food that followed. The chips were ok but the salsa tasted like canned tomato paste with very little added ingredients. I got the Diabla Tacos. Ok flavor but very dry with overly cooked steak and drowned in onions. I also felt there was something missing from it. My wife ordered some shrimp queso dip that was extremely runny and had way more fishy smell than normal(so much so that you could taste the scent while eating your other food). The shrimp was also very soft and spongy. We didnt finish it. She also ordered a simple cheese quesadilla which was soggy and cold and a chile relleno that was watery inside with no seasoning to the meat. My daughter also had that problem with the meat in her kids burrito. She said she did like her hard taco though. I tried it and it too tasted very bland. All of our rice was very dry/hard almost as if it sat out for a long time or was dehydrated. In fact the only food they did get right during our visit wasnt even Mexican food, it was my sons kids chicken fingers. Another positive is that our waiter was nice. The younger staff gave of that "I dont want to be here" vibe though and werent very friendly. To get a taste of what this type of food and service should be like, I invite the residents of Reidsville and workers of this establishment to venture past Reidsvilles borders to other cities, like Greensboro. There you will find Casa Vallarta, La Fiesta, and La Hacienda(just to name a few). Ive experienced friendlier customer service, more consistent cooking, fresher ingredients, fresher beer, and well made mixed drinks at all 3 of those locations.

Was looking for somewhere to eat. A local (Im from an hour away so had no idea where to go.) said monterrey was pretty good so we went. When we first got there the atmosphere seemed to be pretty good, nice seating, everyone looked happy being there. So we sat down got the chips and salsa it was pretty good well we ordered our food waited around 30 minutes.. well me, my girlfriend, and my daughter got our food my son didnt and they brought us some other plate that wasnt ours. Well we though it be 5 10 mins to get his being it was only rice an cheese. Nope we had to give him some of our food because it took 20 minutes to get his food. Then we asked for the check... when I got it it had the other plate they brought us on it making my bill 12 dollars more than it should have been. Well at this point I just wanted to get out of there. No luck. We waited another 15 min for the waiter then he took it to fix it. Should take 5 min tops... well 10 min goes by no one comes. I ask for the manager my gf an kids go to the car. I wait another 10 min... cause I ate the food I wanted to pay the bill but after being told Ill fix your bill every 5 min for almost 30 min I looked at the manager and said Im leaving he didnt say anything so I walked out... probably one of the worst experiences Ive had in a long time the food was decent. But the full experience I would never go back.. may have just been a freak accident and I could be a good restaurant but Ill never go back to find out....

Pretty good food! Hubby loves Mexican so we have been going there for special occasions for about 10 years. Food is usually very good and fresh. I just ordered steak fajitas last week and I should have said something, because when they came out they were over-done (slightly burnt). If I had said something Im sure they would have fixed it. Love the tortilla chips and salsa! Plus, they have mild salsa for the kids! Our children love it too! Wish they had more deserts to choose from, but Im usually too full to eat any, anyway!

Monterreys is a true gem when it comes to restaurants in Reidsville. The food always tastes wonderful. Everything from the menu that I have ever tried is excellent. The service is outstanding. The waiters are always prompt and friendly. Also, you cant beat the value. For a truly reasonable price, you receive as many chips with salsa as you would like, unlimited drink refills, and a delicious entree. Monterreys is terrific!

Food was not all that good do not know how this place got a 4.8 Rating must be the only good place in this town worst mexican i have ever ate at. ps to the wait staff just cause you speak Spanish and i am white i still know what you said so i didnt like what you said about my mom we wont be back ever. i will stay in Burlington with my favorite place for Mexican food San Marcos.

Worse place I ever went to the waiter stayed on his phone in a booth why would you let your employees on phones at work is crazy and they were talking stuff about people in Spanish and they had no idea I say if you want to eat here learn Spanish so you can tell if theyre talking about you or not and please keep the employees off the phone

The most fabulous Mexican food you will find anywhere. Waiters are friendly, talkative and like to "cut up" with you. They are constantly at your table, checking your tea glass, etc.. It is really quite a bargain for such great food and great service. Always clean. If I could rate them six stars, I would do it !!

Food was edible, but only because we were starving. The ground beef tasted like a powdered mix, mushy and grainy. Have eaten better refried beans from a can. Queso had no flavor with a grainy texture as well.
