The food wasnt bad but it certainly wasnt the best. To be honest was a bit disappointed. Hoped it to be more authentic considering how close to Miami they are ect. There was no wait when we went on a Sunday. The staff seems friendly but our waiter, Gustavo, seemed too distracted and didnt make us feel like we were that important. Never came and asked how everything was until the end. Didnt ask if we wanted anything else, which I did, and he just gave us the check as soon as we finished the main course. My boyfriend was still eating the nachos and he just took all the salsas away. I even heard him ask the other table next to us if thwy were ready to order because there is a wait now for tables. You dont do that to a customer. Its rude. The meals we had contained beef. The need tasted like the kind you would have in a beef stew. The 1 and only margarita I had wasnt too bad though. But sad to say it, I wont be returning more than likely. Ive had better Mexican/Spanish food.

Though this place has had a major renovation, it is still very sub par in ambiance. The bar stools are too low for the bar height, the decor is a huge improvement but looks like lipstick put onto old an original dive. The food is pretty good ill give them that HOWEVER, they nickle and dime for every single item!! I ordered shrimp fajitas. $18. Only comes with 7 shrimp!! So I asked to add extra shrimp. I was charge $2.95 PER EXTRA SHRIMP!!!!!!! What in the???? Then I asked for salsa to come with my fajitas, they up charge for salsa! So for shrimp fajitas with 3 extra shrimp, side of fresh jalapeños, a small hot salsa, a small mild salsa, small side of guac the total is $39!!!!!!! This isnt Capital Grille! Sheesh! What a joke. Such a turn off to be uncharged for every little thing, especially when the food is already highly priced as it is.

GREAT FOOD AND DRINK! I drive past this restaurant at least once a day but I had never ventured in until tonight. Admittedly, I was dreading a Saturday Night visit as restaurants with bars inside can be loud and over crowded on weekends. We arrived at about 7:30 and we were delighted! Although there was about a 10 minute wait, the hostess was kind and efficient. We were seated and the polite and professional waiter served us the delicious cheese dip we ordered. When our entrees arrived we were delighted at the generous portions, and the food was excellent!!! Ill definitely recommend this place to my friends. Oh, and I was dead wrong about the atmosphere. It was cozy yet spacious and not a bit too loud. And the prices arent bad either! A+

Shrimp fajitas were swimming in oil, came with no creme fraiche, and the other dishes I couldnt tell apart - ladles of brown goo with rice that looked completely unappealing. Im shocked at the great recommendations - from the stale weird smell when you walk in the front door to the unpleasantly sick feeling when leaving, every dining moment here was bad. To round off some of the worst Mexican food Ive had in years, the service was surly and when the waiter dropped a dirty fork on my suit pants, he didnt even make an attempt to help clean it up or check if it was ok (it wasnt, surprise surprise). Theres nothing at all redeeming about the dining experience here and Id strongly recommend somewhere else (anywhere else, actually).

LA BAMBA IS THE BOMB! EASILY THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN FORT LAUDERDALE!!! We were headed to a different Mexican/Spanish restaurant for dinner when we passed by La Bamba and saw how packed the place was. We said...it must be good...for a good meal were willing to wait. I moved to Virginia Beach from the southwestern part of the U.S. and miss really good authentic Mexican food. OMG! This was so delicious! I had the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and my husband had the fajitas...that came sizzling right out of the kitchen! Gustavo, our server, was so friendly and helpful. He made us feel at home. The absolute best, authentic Mexican food we have had since our last trip out west!

I go here regularly, i love the food, and the price BUT today my server was Gustavo HE WAS HORRIBLE it felt as if our presence was a inconvenience to him, kept checking back only to see if plates were empty, 1/2 through the meal (without requesting it) he delivered TO GO box to hurry us up, shortly after asked if i was going to finish or can he take my Plate. Refills of soda were only 1/2 the cup (god forbid we might stay longer and drink it) then after we decided we were full and used the to go box he came up to attempt to take the plate out of my hand while i was still scooping into the box. I pray he is never my server again, ohya NO TIP on purpose.

We unsuspectingly went to this place on gay monday, no offense but it was very crowded and noisy and we had considerable waiting time. Place is not the nicest visually but ok. Margaritas at the bar were just a tad bit too salty for our taste. Reason Im giving it full 5 is the food selection and quality. We ordered a salad and a crab meat tortilla entree and both was VERY plentiful and some of the best Mexican food weve had (and we had a lot). Even though it was so crowded, the food arrived reasonably quick, steaming hot, was very fresh and incredibly pleasing. Would recommend and come back anytime, even on a crowded gay Monday ;)

Beware of Bad Service, no decor in restaurant, LOUD,, and FOOD POISONING!!!, I sat down, saw my beer at bar for 10 minutes, before waiter brought it over, then waiter put rice and beans on our table with our fajitas,, after a few minutes, he comes out and says those arent for you, and takes them to the table across the way,,I have never seen waitstaff take food off of someones table then place it on another, after several minutes,,, Fajitas were bland, no seasoning, and then got home to food poisoning at night, along with my husband,,, BEWARE SINCE THE RENOVATION JOB, THIS PLACE HAS GONE DOWNHILL!!!

This place was so wonderful! My husband and I came to fort Lauderdale for my birthday weekend and spent over and hour trying to find a good Mexican restaurant to eat at. Some places had too many terrible reviews to ignore and one of the places we almost went to looked really questionable from the outside. There were plenty of cars in the parking lot of la bamba. The margaritas were absolutely to die for!! And the food was fantastic. You could tell the flour tortillas were homemade. Our server was a little awkward but incredibly kind. We would highly recommend to anyone.

Be Aware of E.Coli. This place was Awful and gave me Food Poisoning. Our server was friendly, but the food was horrible. I ordered the Carnitas and it was dry and tasteless, almost as if it was left out too long and contaminated. People rave about their chips and salsa, but our chips were oily and nothing special. Not only that, but a few hours later, I had 2 days of uncontrollable diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever, and vomiting. Thanks for ruining my holiday La Bamba. Eat here if you are looking to loose a few pounds; otherwise, just STAY AWAY from this place!
