This is one of the only restaurants in town serving meals that are compatible with the Mediterranean-South Beach Diet, i.e. low bad cholesterol but good HDL cooked in olive oil and low sugar. Olympic does offer Italian dishes served with pasta and heavy sauces, including veal, and its probably healthier for you than other family style Italian restaurants and Italian-inspired chain restaurants in town. I can tell Angelo, the owner, does not use preservatives in his food. Even the less healthy popular foods, like chicken tenders do not use heavy breading and fat. Its a light breading with lemon seasoning. What makes this restaurant special is the fish, around $15 per entree which is a few dollars more than the poultry and meat dishes, and the Greek specialties, like Saganaki, grape leaves, spinach pie, baklava, and the best gyro-lamb meat in town. The size and scope of the menu is ambitious, but surprisingly I have never had a bad meal there. The prices, $10 to $15 per dinner entree and around $9 to $10 per lunch item are quite reasonable considering the quality of the food. If you want an upscale and trendy atmosphere, then Olympic is not the place.

I felt like a Gyro and started driving towards Salems. It dawned on me that Id rather be supporting a small business than a small franchise. I kept driving and Bam! A Greek cafe a block away! I walk in and it is very busy. I place a to go order for a Gyro Platter, which included a choice of a side and choice of soup or salad for a little under $14. I had Greek style potatoes and a Greek salad. Best gyro I have had in a long time. The potatoes were perfect. I will definitely be returning at least a few more times to see what else there is to offer. Fast and friendly service which just is rare enough that when it happens, You know youll be back. I have two complaints and they are; one, There was no tip jar. I would gladly have left a few dollars for the cashier, These are tough times and a positive attitude and friendly experience should be rewarded. Two, actually no. That is my only complaint. ^_^ Superb!

when i used to live in bradenton this place was excellent, NOT ANYMORE stay away from this place ,brought my mother and my grandmother here for their birthday, i ordered the Greek Snapper dinner, mother ordered Gyro platter, and grandmother ordered Sole stuffed with crab meat... greek "snapper" was tilapia for 15.95 , what a joke, they never gave me my vegetable . mothers gyro meat was all dried out and salty, pita bread was dripping with grease . grandmothers "sole" was pollock stuffed with greasy breading and she never got her vegetable. service was horrible the waitress didnt know what she was doing and was obviously under influence of some drug . STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT, one of worse experiences i ever had.

My name is skylar I am a 13 year old boy and the olympic cafe is by far my absolute favorite resturante, in florida. The service is fanominal, all of the waitereses know me and my family by name. my favorite thing to get there are there gyros or the musaka but they are both amazing. Other entrees i recomend is the beef stroganof, stuffed peppers and burgers. For an apitizer id recomend the grapeleaves (my moms favorite) or the the calamari (my dads favorite) or the chicken lemon soup my favorite, all of course hand made. hey and if you dont like greek food the come on in anyway they have everything. Please go on in and try it i PROMISE you will love it :)

Last time my wife and I ate at this place. We loved to go here for dinner and it was always very good. But this time we decided to go for lunch. I ordered a cuban sandwich ($7.95) w/fries and a side salad, not knowing that during lunch sandwiches do not include fries and a Greek side salad costs double the dinner price. The waitress just took the order without saying anything about fries being extra ($3.00) or a side salad costing $6.95 Needless to say that after spending more on lunch($34.00 plus tax), that was not up to the quality we were used to at this place, than dinner, we will not frequent this place any longer.

I seem to like the chicken kabob platter as I always order this to-go after a hard day at work when I do not want to cook. It is a healthy offering of grilled chicken with mushrooms, onions, peppers and pilaf rice and 2 wedges of grilled tomato which I thought was decoration and a filler in the to-go box but are tasty as well so eat them. You get homemade tzatziki sauce for the chicken a greek side salad and pita bread. Mine even came with a complimentary serving of homemade rice pudding. All very yummy and reasonably priced too!

Food not impressive and not so friendly service. I called in a to go order of the spinach pie and a Philly cheese steak. Neither was very good and the service was not all that friendly. The person who took our order was rushing to get off the phone and was reluctant to answer my questions. Food was ready very quickly though. Upon picking up my food I did not really feel welcome. I dont think Ill be back

Stopped here totally on impulse when I saw they were open for breakfast and had a drive thru. With a cranky toddler in the car I wasnt about to go in, and was nervous about the wait time, but my order came out very quickly. Spinach and feta omelette is amazing, and big enough to share. I dont know what kind of magic they put on their potatoes but Ill be back just for another taste!

Went there with my wife for a late lunch last Sunday. Not very many customers. We placed our order and waited and waited. Finally, I asked our waitress if our order had been given to the kitchen. She looked in her apron saw the order and said no it had not. That was it. No apology or reason given. We left and went across the street to eat.

Good food, but a bit overpriced. Dolmades were good, but could have had more flavor. Gyro that we my wife ordered was delicious, and my chicken kabob was really good. They are just so nice. Very attentive and caring staff. Would possibly go back, but not worth drive from my home. Good, but not worth going out of way for.

Good food. Usually good service. Fairly good prices. Excellent menu - from cheeseburgers to salads to Greek food including Spanakopia (sp?) and gyros. Greek fish, roast beef, corned beef, and other dinners. There are a few good vegetarian options, including salads and spinach pie. We like eating here.

Best Greek restaurant in Bradenton. Stuffed grape leaves are wonderful. Lemon chicken soup is a warm blanket on a chilly day. Staff is attentive and friendly. The place is loud and crowded just like a Greek restaurant should be. FYI save room for desert. Tapioca and baklava are not to be missed.
