This review and picture was posted on their Facebook page but probably not for long... Service was ok and we had high hopes after the waitress said the blackened Grouper was the best. Three of us got the Grouper and all three sandwiches consisted of an oversized roll with what appeared to be a Grouper bite or a slightly bigger wedge smothered in lettuce and tomato. The "sides" came in the little one tablespoon size condiment cups. Im not kidding when I say the size of the Grouper was barely larger than a quarter. I was in the process of taking a picture of it with a quarter sitting on top when the waitress came over and asked If everything was ok. When I commented on how small it was she said " Oh boy, that is small, let me go tell my manager." The manager, Debbie came over and in an annoyed voice said " You wanted something?" I said I didnt want anything! Im just taking a picture to share on FB in reference to how small the portions are for the money. I showed Debbie the Grouper "bite" with the quarter on top for comparison and the look on her face was priceless. Then she said "Oh yeah, I saw that when they brought it out and thought, thats a small portion BUT, Im sorry, thats the portion you get." Then she just walked away. The whole table just looked at each other in amazement and started laughing. A much better alternative to what I would have done in my younger years. I travel a lot and love grouper so wherever I go, if they have grouper sandwiches, Im willing to give it a try and if its good, Im the first person to promote the business. I checked the menu and it didnt list a portion weight it just said sandwich. This is by far the smallest portion I have ever gotten on a $15.00 sandwich. From the other reviews on Yelp, that havent been posted by employees... It appears this is not an isolated incident. The worse thing was the managers attitude about it. I didnt expect to have our meals comped but a larger peice of fish would have been nice or maybe a half hearted offer of a reduction in our $80.00 bill. Nope! Just walks away. They say first impressions are everything and a picture is worth a thousand words. The pics and my review are now circulating FB and several other review sites.

UPDATE... was back here today and the service was great, the food portions have increased back to what they were AND now they have dessert!!! As of 3/31/17 I am a returning customer several times. The staff ia great!I have seen the menu change. The pictures that are presented WERE accurate. HOWEVER, every time we go back the amount of food has diminished. My mom and I both had the fishermans sandwich, its good, but the piece of fish you no longer can even see on the bun. It is just about 2 inches long by 2 inches wide, and 1/4 an inch thick. My dads fish and chips the portion of fish is a lot smaller than before, the breading is a lot thicker and the fish is much smaller. Everyones french fries has decreased tremendously!!! Although their steak fries are amazing, we have returned just because of their french fries. But, when you only now recieve about 11 fries its more than disappointing. I spoke with the manager and informed him that the changes have been seen by the customers, even the staff! Again, its more than a disappointment. Especially, when other restaurants in the area have top notch chefs. The manager was very nice and took the comments in recognition. Nevertheless, the four of us left still being hungry. Apollo Beach is known for failing restaurants and I hope that they consider this and go back to how they were when first opening. If they go back to how they were id give them a 5, but I dont want to have to go home and snack. I would not drive far to come here unless they make changes and go back to how they were.... The food served is excellent, the staff is great and the atmosphere is also great.

I didnt like it, but thats just my experience. When I asked the waitress what the shrimp tacos were like she looked at me and said what do you mean. I guess she didnt know how to describe them. The ceasar salad was barely acceptable. The lettuce was soggy as if they pre-make it (but I dont know for sure) and it had that faint smell of just about to go bad - like you smell at subway sometimes. It was a sizeable portion and it should have been for $8. The shrimp tacos on the other hand - well, taste is relative and it depends on what your taste buds like. I picked the 2 shrimp off that came on each of them and just ate those. Whatever they put in there I just did not like. So basically I spent $9 for 4 shrimp. My friend liked the beer battered fish a little better than I did, although I tried a piece of his and was not wowed. I stopped by McDonalds on the way home. I guess the food is suppose to be Irish, so you should definitely like Irish food if you go there. I wont be going back myself, but I always encourage folks to go and form their own opinion; and those vary from one person to the next.

I usually go to the Tuesday Trivia at Salty Shamrock with a group of people. I find that its difficult to make your reservation for a table because they hardly ever answer their phone. If you do leave a voicemail, you can never be assured that your table is waiting. More than once I planned on have 8 to 10 people but no table even though I left a message. This past Tuesday, May 16th, service was absolutely terrible! I and my fellow tablemates had to wait an hour for our food even though we got there at 6:00 PM when they were not as busy. All I ordered was a wedge of lettuce. The waiter, who was new, said they were not expecting to be busy. They ARE BUSY EVEY TUESDAY night!! The only waitresses who are good there are Leah and Aaliyah and they were placed inside? Was that smart management??? I think not and I was in restaurant management for 23 years myself.

Went there SAT. evening around 5:30 p.m. husband ordered blackened fish and I ordered sm fish and chips. When my husband received his fish he had 3 to 4. tiny pieces about an inch and a half. For $ 10.00. Are you kidding. We have been there before and he got the same thing and it certainly wasnt like that. We enjoyed previous trips but thats the last there. WE questioned our waitress and she said thats the size now. She never said she was sorry or anything. Well not being smart but our money isnt found on any trees that we have seen. So well take our business else where I know the place was packed with death mutes so they were very busy but thats no excuse as for the quanity of food to serve. Come on 3 to 4 pieces for $10.00, fries are cheap but not worth $10.00.
