We went here last night for V-Day...I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT! The ambiance was beautiful, but the service TOTALLY SUCKED! Let me tell you about it.. 1. Along with our $50 deposit (which is totally understandable) They made us sign a contract just to get reservation. 2. Would not work with us to get an earlier time 3. Upon entering at 9:25pm the hostess was extremely rude and made it her business to let us know that our reservation was for 9:30pm therefore we should not have even bothered checking in to let her know we were there." i mean your reservation is for 9:30" 4. They used the "lets walk up to everyone and ask them their name and hope they are the people we are looking for" method rather than providing us with buzzers.(even Outback steakhouse has buzzers) 5. And if you werent who they we looking for they let you know... Hostess: Whats your name sir? Us: Davis. Hostess: Oh No Not You. Turns and walks away. Us: Well thanks 6. we had 9:30pm reservations, we didnt get seated until about 10:15ish (Oh but there were empty tables) 7. We sat down, and instead of asking if we were ready for our meals, they just gave us the drink menu and walked away for another 15 min. 8. I loved the way they tried to rush the couple next to us out after their bill was paid by letting them know that their dinner was over. Even though the young lady still had wine in her glass SMH 9.The Food... not the worst but not tasty enough to charge $95 per person. 10. The entertainment... Just because you throw girls in front of a glass with minimal clothes on that does not equate to entertainment. Please miss me with the Lady Gaga routines. 11. The Bill-oh what can I say about this... $95 per person, $40 table service 10% Dc tax. CLASSIC MOMENT: The waitress come for the check, we remind her about deducting the $50 deposit from the check. 10min later she comes back to the table to say thanks and goodnight. We look at each other like wtf just happened. She only thought she was going to get and ADDITIONAL $63 on her tip. Took 20 min to flag her down (she was blatantly ignoring us) And we ask her about the change and receipt and she looks at us like we are slow lol. 10 min later she comes back to the table with some random and silly excuse and THEN informs us that she will bring us our change back but she might not get all of it because they dont have any dollar bills. She brings back $60 no receipt say have a good night, we stopped her to get the rest of the money owed and she tells us, "Well it may take a while because I dont have any dollar bills, so I will have to ask someone else" REALLY! 12. We didnt leave there until 12:05am Conclusion: They failed. Maybe if we were drunk it would have been better ;-/

This place is a joke! For the price you would expect good food and excellent customer service. My party received neither! For the amount we paid, ($400 per couple, not including the additional fees) but Ill get to that later, we could have gone to The Inn at Little Washington, Komi, Restaurant Eve, The Source or any of the top restaurants in the DC area and received excellent food and service. This is probably the reason these restaurant are at the top of their game and here to stay. Sax (A.K.A Oya) should take a page from their play book. I had a party of 18 so we had to sign a contract, OK thats fine and completely reasonable. Unfortunately, 4 people (2 couples) could not make it due to last minute circumstances. I explained this to Brain (General manger) he was not friendly and simply stated "You will be charged for those people". OK, again I understand and was fine. My issue is that Brain stated that the restaurant "reserved" our section for the entire night so they would loose money if we didnt pay. Well if that is the case then why did they sit people in our section? And if we are expected to pay for those who didnt show up then why werent we atleast given the food we were forced to purchase? I mentioned these facts to Brain and he simply dismissed them in a very arrogant manner. I then decided to brush it off and try to enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, the food was terrible, the majority of the individuals in the party complained about their over cooked steaks and sub-par appetizers. Not to mention the dirty martini I received was probably the worst thing Ive ever drank! Of course I sent it back in hopes for improvement but it just got worse! I personally had the beet gnocchi and it was just ok. As for the entertainment it was mildly entertaining but most of us couldnt even see the stage as we were placed in the worst section of the entire place. The dancers are amateurs at best, except the dude with the dreads during a dub step type routine (he is FANTASTIC!). To sum it up, 1.) I asked to be seated in a great section weeks before the reservation and during signing of the contract, Brain guaranteed that but did not live up to his promise. 2.) The food was horrible and should have been AMAZING for the price. 3.) Entertainment was just Ok 4.) Customer service is lacking. I gave this one star because our waitress was really nice. Needless to say, I and everyone else who attended will not be back and plan to spread the word that this place should be AVOIDED.

I recently went to this establishment on Valentines Day and was very disappointed. When we made the reservations we were not notified that we would only be able to order from the $125 prix fixe menu. Because it was already later in the night and almost impossible to get a reservation at another desired restaurant, we decided to stay and order from the menu with expectations of nothing less than GREAT QUALITY food. Unfortunatley this was not the case! Our food tasted very bland, very small portions, and it took awhile for our main course to come out. The lobster was the size of a piece of shrimp, not even a jumbo shrimp that was covered in what it tasted like orange and lemon peelings. Very Strong taste! The waistress didnt check on us but kept looking at us from afar. The couple who sat next to us received their main course before us even though they arrived 30 minutes later. How does this happen with a prix fixe menu? The dessert was beautiful but stale! Ironically, the couple next to us began to complain and also complained for us as well because they overheard our conversation. The manager came out and removed approx $80 from their bill. Once we requested to speak to the manager (asian guy) it was a 30 minute wait for him to come speak to us. He was very rude and did not seem to empathize at all. He was straight forward and asked "what do you want? Im not removing $125 from your bill!" Although we never asked for that. He offered a round of drinks even though we were not drinking at all that night and he offered to remove the tax. We simply asked for the $50 service charge be removed because we did not receive that at all! I wouldnt recommned going back to this place. We should have stuck with what we know and went to Oya like we originally planned. The dancing was semi entertaining and the decor is GORGEOUS!!!
