To be clear, the food is on point. The staff almost made me walk out before I got to the food part, though. We walked in (me and date), the only people there aside from a lady at the bar and a man standing at the bar. We werent initially greeted as we stood there awkwardly waiting, so we eventually asked if they were even open. The lady told the man theres people waiting at which point he came over and seated us. It wasnt initially obvious that the woman worked there. Then minutes later, I hear the lady raising her voice at the man swearing at him about something he said. Then a bartender appears and starts telling the man hes a slob for having the menus sitting on the bar and throws in some colorful language as well. My date stepped outside for a minute, so its just me and the three of them in this very small establishment. I just start staring at them with an obviously disapproving look to see how long before they realize how inappropriate they are and eventually the bartender noticed me as Im shaking my head at them. We made eye contact and he eventually realized I was upset about their behavior. He just put on this $*** eating grin and looked over to them and they dropped the conversation. I could not believe the way they were talking to this man so openly with a customer within earshot. Again, the food was really good, but whoever the female waitress and bartender are have no business working in a nice restaurant.

My overall experience was Meh.... I was very excited due to the high reviews on Yelp and Google however my experience left much to be desired. We ordered 2 appetizers. First the Hush puppies which werent good. Second was he lump crab dip. It was delicious however the serving was barely enough for one person. I HATE to write a bad review but left out hungry and there were too many issues to complain about. For entrees we ordered apple brine chicken, filet mignon, lamb, beef short ribs. All was just Blah. Colors greens were to spicy (I couldnt finish them), Mac and Cheese was horrible and runny. The taste just wasnt good. I even ordered dessert, peach granola which had an awful burnt taste. Honestly Ive never been this disappointed with a meal. The pictures look great but the taste doesnt match. Service was SLOW. Theres one woman serving the entire restaurant and she doesnt have a sense of urgency. When you ask her for something shes going to check on all other guest as she walks past them to fulfill your request. She is sweet and the manager/chef is nice. But for the money I wouldve preferred better tasting food.

While the atmosphere may appear charming, it was difficult to enjoy our meal while the staff was vacuuming under our feet. The waitstaff was inattentive - I had to go to the bar to get my fiance another glass of wine, and had to find a waiter to get my water glass refilled. My sandwich with salad turned out to be a few pieces of boiled ham with a slice of Swiss cheese on a stale piece of French bread. A true French chef would have scoffed - I could have done better at the local WaWa. My salad was literally two fork-fulls of greens. We ordered an escargot appetizer, but received a mussel dish. Not accepting the mussels and asking for escargot as ordered resulted in 6 escargot - 3 burning hot, 3 still cold in the middle. To top it off, the waitress carded my fiance for wine - I am 50 years old and while my lady is younger, she is not THAT young. Overall a dreadful $100 lunch. Never again. The reviews I read here must have been written by the staff.

Came here one weekday evening not knowing what to expect. Was actually quite busy - we had booked but there was a table or two still available. There seem to be options for sitting at normal tables (mostly 2 people but some fours), some hightops or at the small bar. The service was very attentive, although I did feel very slightly rushed. But generally very good, checking in with us at the appropriate times and making recommendations on food and drink. The food doesnt really fit any one particular type, although probably leans towards Italian, based on the selection of cheese and pasta. I had a Quinoa and pumpkin salad for appetizer, and Rockfish for main - both of which were excellent. Atmosphere was warm and inviting - tables are fairly close but its not so quiet that you feel that your neighbors can hear your conversation. Will definitely be back.

It was cold, wet, and rainy on May 17th, when we were trying to decide what to do for dinner. This place came up near the top of our search, being right across the street from our hotel and all. I went to their website, and the menu sounded promising, but we were almost put off by some of the reviews. Still, we decided to go anyway, and all we can say was what a tremendous meal we had! I ordered the duck (Ive never had such tasty duck!) and my husband ordered the lamb, cooked to perfection. We had the crepes for dessert, and we sent back compliments to the Chef for everything. The only cons, the service was a little slow (which we did not mind at all, having had a long day of wandering throughout DC) and the dining room was a tight fit, but the entire experience was, nonetheless, simply stellar.

The food sadly does not match the great location. All dishes were hit or miss. For a wine bar, the cheese and charcuterie plate was sort of pathetic. The cheese was good, the meat OK, and the accompanying green grapes, raisins, and (too few) crackers looked like they were from Safeway and haphazardly brought on a separate plate. Otherwise, the lamb chops were a hit, the seafood pasta and shrimp and grits were both misses. My wife found something (plastic?) in her dessert. Service was very friendly, but made mistakes, including bringing us something we didnt order and then charging us for it. They looked stressed when it started to fill up at 7. We ate upstairs, the downstairs seating does not appeal as it is a step above a basic basement.

Living in the neighborhood, my wife and I wanted to like Lincoln Park Kitchen, but sadly, well have to give it a three star rating. Heres why: -The food wasnt amazing. We ordered the cheese plate and it seemed like they got all the ingredients from Trader Joe and had a seven year old try to assemble it. -The drinks were small and not amazing. -The pasta was not good. We ordered the cavatelli and the bucatini. -The font of the sign outside is weird and the decorations inside a bit off. They do have a few things going for them: -Its inexpensive compared to other Capitol Hill restaurants. -The service was good. Sadly, we wont be regulars here.

We spent the day at the zoo and walked back towards the metro, its first restaurant you run into. Babygirl wanted pizza so the pizza place is actually downstairs. However, being a rather chilly winter day, they allowed us to sit upstairs in the sister restaurant. The staff was so friendly and super helpful. They were very attentive. The pizza...was ok, nothing spectacular, but it was good enough for 3 three hungry folks and $14 for a pepperoni pizza isnt bad at all. The restaurant, Petits Plats, the menu seemed good, and the decor was quaint, inviting, and cozy. We will defintely be back to try this place again.
