**As an amendment to my earlier review, as we contacted the manager of the restaurant as soon as I noticed the errant charge. The manager looked into the issue, and he called my husband back with his sincere apologies and refunded not only the tip amount, but the amount for our entire check. I am pleasantly surprised at the outcome; I feel that the manager did everything in his power to completely rectify the experience we had, and I appreciate that. Honestly, too, I think the food would have been delicious, had it been served immediately, so it may be worth a try if you are in the area. My original review is still below, because, while the manager rectified the situation, it still important for others to know things like this, especially when spending the kind of money this place calls for, and to know if you get service like this, get a manager involved before you leave. ______________________________________________________________________ This place was awful. After we placed our order, we never saw the server. Our food was served to us cold, after sitting in the window for who knows how long, and it took me another ten minutes to flag a server down to address the issue, and instead of fixing the issue, they put my medium rare steak in the microwave and brought it back out to me. Again, after this, I never saw a server again. It took us twenty minutes of servers walking by us and our plates sitting on the edge of the table, doing their side work, to get them to take our plates and bring the check. My husband and I left no tip, after spending $80 on an awful, re-heated meal. However, when I looked at my bank account this morning, the server took it upon himself to charge a $14 un-authorized tip to my card. So if you do go here, make sure you keep your receipt, and check the charge a few days later. This was the worst restaurant experience Ive ever had.

The hostess did not greet me. She watched me stand in the waiting area until another lady came by and asked if I had a reservation. The waiter seemed like he was in such a hurry, he started walking away before I even completed my order. I had to ask them for bread and butter even though all the other tables were served without asking. He couldnt help me with recommendations for the menu and didnt inform me of the daily specials. I overheard the specials from another table he catered to and my food was boxed up without half of what was on my plate. Service could have been a lot better. Food was okay.

Very slow service with 1 couple in the restaurant before us. Ate here for breakfast and would never recommend this place. Toast came out so cold there was no chance of melting the butter for it. Never came back to ask how food was, waitress had to yell at kitchen to get our order when she looked over and realized we still didnt have our food 25 minutes later. Handed our credit card to the waitress after we were sitting waiting for a bill for a while. No better at night, busy, loud and they dont even make an effort to serve you.

Found this place while walking around the city on a work trip. On Sat/Sun they offer a three course meal special for $20.99 with a handful of choices. I got the salad (delicious), steak w/ grits and beans (good, but steak was a little tough), and apple pie (hit the spot). All-in-all it was a good choice, service was great, atmosphere was nice, and I would come back here again. Take into consideration that I ate here for an early dinner on Sunday, so it wasnt very crowded either

The staff sat in the dining area in front of everybody eating outside food and ignoring guests. I sat with an empty glass for 15 minutes (as did the table next to me) as they ate. Several employees looked at my empty glass and walked by. They then went to the back room and did not come back out for another long period of time. I have worked in numerous restaurants and have never been so appalled by staff in a restaurant trying to be "nice."

Lamb Shank was Amazing! On a Tuesday night we stubbled upon this place since all the places around it were closed because they were lunch only. The Lamb Shank with a red wine au jus fell off the bone it was so tender. The couscous with red pepper and kalamata olives was the perfect side to cut through the rich meat. Im so glad we were able to enjoy this place on our short trip to DC.

Delicious food. Nice ambiance. Everything weve eaten in our 2 visits has been yummy. That said, staff is quirky. Almost discouraged by the hostess from eating there. Both times we were told you wont get your food for really long time. Independently surveyed the situation and took the risk. Both times food came out promptly, was well prepared and presented, and tasty. Whatup?

Found this place online without realizing it was a hotel restaurant attached to the Club Quarters. But it was very nice. Its a small, cozy restaurant with a nice selection of flavorful dishes. We tried the beet salad (not too many beets, mostly salad), veal saltimboca and the lamb burger. The portions were very large, service was quick and I would try it again.

It takes a bit for me not to eat whats on my plate, however I found it here. Of the 3 course meal I had, the salad was ok, ribs not great and the creme brulee was still cold in the middle. Service was ok, however was bland in the waiter had no interest in the food or customer. I would not eat here again unless I was out of options.

, it was cooked wrong and it came with fries instead of mashed potatoes. Yes a $27 dollar stake with fries. Also no one ever came to ask how our meal was. I was never able to bring it up to them. So I asked for a manager. You can also hear the cooks in the kitchen being disruptive and rude. The manager did make things right!

The food was really disappointing. I got the fried green tomato BLT and it was hard, the bacon was really low quality, and it had one pathetic tomato (which was 90% breading). I got a mojito as well, which wasnt balanced (much too sweet) and the mint was wilty and brown. Service was ok.

Found this place by accident while walking. Sat at the bar and had happy hour beer and wine ... One of the hardest working bartenders we have seen.. Price great and service very good. Liked it so much that after the cherry blossom stuff we went back.

The location and main roon are great. In contrast, The food is really very very ordinary. The penne pasta, for example, is a shame for a cook - in French the best qualifier is "minable". Great disappointment. Sorry.

We sat at the bar. The bartender made me the best old fashioned I have ever had. There was a muted feel to the place, as if the rest of the world didnt exist here. Great decor.

Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere and stellar service. I have eaten at several dc area restaurants and this place is great. I will definitely be back!
