I go to Prego about once a year and always think I need to go more often until my visit here today. There are always people in the store getting their sandwiches and some of them are good (like the #4). However, today I ordered the Spicy Chicken panini and some of the chicken I could not chew because the skin was still on the chicken and was too much like rubber. Meat already grosses me out and this put me over the edge. It will be a LONG time until I can go back here as much as I want to support a local Capitol Hill deli shop.

This place is fantastic! I think Taylor is way over-rated and A Literris is inconvenient to get to. Prego is neither! Plus the food is fantastic and their Prego special is probably the best Italian sub Ive ever had. The service is fine, not overly friendly but certainly not as bad as some have made it out to be. The atmosphere is non-existant inside but if you can eat outside instead.

Great sandwiches for shockingly low prices here (relative to everything else in the area). They do breakfast options all day, which is awesome. If youre getting sandwiches with dressing/oil on them, be aware that it tends to make them soggy for some reason--Im hoping they can fix that as most Italian places Ive been to dont have that issue. Still, definitely worth checking out.

Best Italian styled sub in the city alongside Jersey Mikes! I just hate going weekends because of the random handmade goods stands that are all over the place attract people therefore limiting all parking to get here.

The soft rolls are so nice, the helpings are generous. Im from philly and this is the best hoagie Ive found in DC. Prefer it to Taylor and its way cheaper.
