My wife, son, and I went to Crossroads for the first time last night after hearing for a while how nice the experience was when my in-laws had gone. I was pleasantly surprised all around. From the moment you walk in the door until you walk out the atmosphere is reminiscent of home dinning. When you walk in you are greeted immediately by a warm face and pleasant attitude of who I can only assume is the patriarch of the family owned business. Being seated promptly, given both coloring materials and a small imaginative toy to keep the little one occupied once again added to the homey atmosphere. The lower lighting and large tables gave a feeling of sitting at the holiday table at a family gathering. Within only moments we were greeted by our server who was immediately to the entire family including greeting my son directly. She took our drink order and returned with them without delay. Being the first time at this establishment, the menu was almost overwhelming with the amount of home cooked style goodness. One of the most notable things being the kids menu that included three times the amount of options than most restaurants, all with cute names like "Pascetie" and the like. The adult menu included everything from appetizers such as onion rings and yummy loaded cheese fries, to hearty Prime Rib and baked potato on the specials menu. While it took a while to choose between all of the items available on the menu, there was most definitely something for everyone! So lets get to it, we ordered the loaded cheese fries to start with which by default is served on an oval dinner plate loaded with fries, shredded cheese blend, crunchy real pork crumbled bacon, and a side of house dipping sauce that is reminiscent of a creamy ranch and chili mixture that pairs wonderfully with the smoky bacon, cheese and fries. We were also served a side of regular ranch dressing for my son as well "Just in case" our waitress announced when she brought the wonderfully smelling plate to our table. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed this start to our meal. Next up, I was served a piping hot bowl of Chicken and Dumplings as the soup added to my meal. This bowl of creamy and very hearty soup was large enough to share with the entire family and was most certainly enjoyed by all. VERY TASTY for sure, and brought back memories of Grandmas cooking for my wife. Shortly there after we were served our main course, which for my wife was a Turkey Ruben on marble rye with homemade slaw and thousand island dressing. This HUGE sandwich had 3/4 inch slices of beautiful marble rye bread that in itself looked incredibly delicious. The coleslaw looked to be a nice white and red cabbage mix with sweet creamy sauce. The turkey was in a thick layer of slices and accompanied by tangy thousand island dressing. This sandwich was far more than my wife could eat as it was quite large for the price, as was everything we were served. For my final course, I chose their French Dip roast beef sandwich. Just as my wifes sandwich, it was quite large for the price. The roast beef was fresh and cooked to perfection for such a dish. On top of the roast beef was a layer of melted white cheese that I believe to be provolone cheese. Also accompanying the roast beef and melted cheese were caramelized onions that were sweet, semi soft with a little bite. Altogether they made for a very nice sandwich, but this was not all of course as this is a French Dip after all. On the side was a cup of something you rarely find when ordering this at most restaurants, REAL beef Au Jus. This was no powdered packet Au Jus you find served in most restaurants. This was a dark savory beef Au Jus that matched with the sandwich made for a most delicious meal. All in all, I have to say that this was a small hometown feel in surprising location just around the corner. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food so much that we will be returning for another visit in the very near future. Well done Crossroads! You have gained a new food-vangelist on your side.

1st of all you must get here early if you dont like to wait in line. Crossroads gets extremely busy, because their food is The Best! I have never had a problem with any food or drink item on their menus. Their breakfast menu is Awesome! With their coffee, milk, orange juice, eggs, French toast, blueberry pancakes, home fries, sausage, bacon, ham, fruit bowls, Et Cetera. Then their lunch & dinner menu is like Your Mothers Own Home Cooked & Made Meals! With Delicious & Delicately Tasty Desserts like Cheese Cake, Carrot Cake, Double Chocolate Cake, Ice Cream, Milk Shakes, Et Cetera. Try this place with your family & friends in the restaurant or just yourself/friend in the diner. The Staff Know Their Jobs Really Well & They Always Deserve Excellent Tips! Whichever You Choose, I Guarantee That Youll Love It!

My first impression was how clean this restaurant was. My party of four was seated immediately. In less than two minutes our server, Barb P., was at our table taking our drink order. Barb continued to be attentive, efficient and friendly during our entire visit. We placed our order and Barb brought it to our table, piping hot, in under 15 minutes. The order was exact even with a few extra requests. The portions were heaping and delicious. Crossroads Restaurant and their staff are to be commended on a wonderful meal. Crossroads has the charm, friendliness and atmosphere of a small town diner; although planted right in the middle of a large city. I will visit this restaurant at every opportunity and will definitely recommend it to my friends and family!

I have lived in Delaware all my life and you cannot experience newcastle county to the fullest extent without going to crossroads. Its not flashy or anything, or super fancy. Its like going to your grandmas for breakfast or dinner. So many options and all so good. The hashbrowns are THE BEST I have ever tasted and theres so much to pick from, I dont think Ive ever ordered the same thing twice. Except for the hashbrowns. I love the service, everyone seems like they are family and theyre so personable. Ive been there after church, on a date, and with friends late at night and its fit the occasion everytime. Crossroads is one of the best and It has been for so long. AND SO IT SHALL REMAIN.

Ate breakfast here on saturday morning when they opened at 630 am. Nice Place. My husband and I both ordered ham&cheese omlettes. The ham wasnt event warm. Our waitress never even asked me if i wanted a refill on my hot chocolate or asked if I wanted a glass of water. Not sure if i would eat here again, only ate here because the gap diner in gap pa wasnt open when i went back at 545 am..............

I have had breakfast twice at Crossroads. Both times the food was good and we didnt need to wait long for a table. The place does fill up very fast and I noticed that the service suffered when it was more crowded (waitress forgetting to bring items to the table etc). I will continue to return. I have not been there for lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable.

we ordered the $15.99 New York sirloin steak. When it came out it looked odd. It was perflectly flat and smooth on top and an odd grey color. I ate it and it was cold!!! Then I put my hand on it and the whole thing was as cold as if it was just taken from the fridge. Clearly - not a proper restaurant that "cooks" food...
