Used to fly my Cessna 172 in for lunch. The food WAS good back then. For nostalgia I thought it would be fun to drop in after a long ride from the Newark Airport. When I walked in I was taken back at how dirty the place was.The carpet is filthy. We were led to our table by a woman who seemed to wish she was somewhere else. The furniture look like it was about to fall apart. It went DOWNHILL from there. Mom ordered a sirloin. It was as thin as boot leather. It had NO spice. No salt no pepper. The person who cooked this just cooked it dry on a fry surface. It was so well done (she ordered it medium) that it literally looked like boot leather. My chopped sirloin was very dry. The gravy was slimy and hot AND cold. Like it was nuked halfway. The glazed carrots were over flowing with this weird concoction called "Glaze" It was a mess. The carrots were uneatable . The fries were skinny store bought cheapies. My wifes were mushy. The service is so so . Waiter never came back to see if we need refills. The worst part of the meal was still to come. When we paid our bill we got the "How was everything?" I told her "Not good" She said "Ill ask the owner to come over. Maybe he will "do something" for you." He cam over and the minute I saw him I knew the answer. I said the steak was really bad. He said why and I said it was over done and tasteless. He then told me how they get the steaks that way and they cannot cook them to order ie Medium Rare ect ect. But why did the waiter ask how we wanted it done? ."We are not a steak house" Nothing taken off the bill...I would never go there for any reason

Just gross, ordered dinner, side salad was browning, who cuts cherry tomatoes, but leaves the center core of iceburg lettuce? ! Dressing was good. Baby carrots, who can screw them up when its your featured veggie of the night( un-edible) by either of us. Pre fab chicken breast(was it really chicken) baked potatoes avail after 4....why? It certainly was NOT baked today. Then the soda which actually was the only thing good, with the exception of $2.79 for a large, now it was no more than an 8oz glass, asked about this and she (owner) showed me a 4oz juice glass she claimed as a small...... come on how can you screw up this bad?? Used to be a great location never and I mean NEVER again!!! You dont want to know how everything was when We got to the register, then dont ASK!! And then she said its the waitresses 1st day, omg she didnt cook the food of make the prices. Actually she was nice and dispite or experience we gave her a $5.00 tip on a $21.00 dinner!!!! Dont get me started on the cleanliness of this joint, thats for the BBB, whom I will contact tomorrow. Dont waste your time

Airport Diner appears to be the only game in town when its a Federal holiday and everything else is closed. Seriously, where do the people of Kutztown go on Memorial Day? Anyway, it was on that evening when I found myself at this diner. Pretty much the entire menu at this diner falls within the comfort food category. There isnt anything too exciting. You can get breakfast any time, of course, and aside from that, there are the usual chicken, beef and pork platters, and most of the common sandwiches. I tried the pork and sauerkraut since Ive never had that at any diner before. Service was very good. My server was attentive and pretty good at offering suggestions when I could not decide. And finally, prices were fairly reasonable, which may give this small-town diner a bit of an edge over restaurants in nearby Reading.

The Airport Diner used to be decently priced and a great place to go, especially later at night. They have raised their food prices alot and its not even worth it anymore to go there. One morning we waited over an hour to get a drink refill and we were the only people in the place. Still the waitress just ignored us and pretended we werent there. The food isnt anything special, and now that theyve raised their prices (yet again) its not worth it at all. Half the time youll get cold food, and the other half of the time youll get dirty cups and silverware. Ive had food stuck to my silverware and lipstick still on my "clean" cup. Which can be ignored if its just a diner, but if they are going to try to "fancy" the place up and raise prices they need to work on the food quality and the dish washing.

Ive been coming to the airport dinner since I was a few years old. My great grandfather actually use to rent a few of the old hangers in the airport when it was functional and use to take my great grandmother there to have breakfast before flying in his personal plane to ocean city new Jersey where they owned a small beach house and frequently visited the beach on weekends and week or two during the summer when they were younger. Its a shame the airport is minimally functioning as a helipad for emergency and nor longer has travelers flying in from other places or even just local air pilots who fly planes for leisure. The food has always been great and its got history to it. Loved by the locals and the college kids.

Well.... Was just enjoying my self till a guy brought a hose out and was sweeping the floor. I was ok till my food got walked over a dirty hose as he flipped it around. Then after food was on the table he swept around our table. When asked to stop he said in broken english me cant & kept going my friend had to get up & tell him to get the hell away from us. Dude got an attitude and called others out & pointed to him & my friend said rope off areas that need to be swept so dirt doesnt get in food. NEXT TIME ROPE OFF AREA & sweep when no food is around. I will not be back!

Maybe its just me, but is it so hard to have a nice, cheery, clean bathroom? To me, that reflects on the whole establishment. The Airport Diners bathroom is kind of yucky. As for the diner itself, its hit or miss. Ive had some good meals there. And some not so good meals there. Theres much better diners not far from here, so if you dont mind driving, theres better ones around. But for a quick meal, this is ok. Its a college town and lots of college kids go here so theres no need to be fancy, anyway, I guess.

Prices are too high for the VERY mediocre product youre getting. I got a ruben tonight and the corn beef was inedible. Very disappointing. The APD used to be one of the better diners in the area, but I will never be going back. The service is inconsistent, the bathrooms are filthy, the menus are dirty, and the food is very subpar. If youre in a pinch and need something to eat, just go to Sheetz and get an MTO instead.

I go to the Airport Diner just about every time I go to the flea market up the road. The food is always good, the service is great, the diner is very clean and the prices are very reasonable. For $8.59, I had a bowl of pepper pot soup, rolls, potatoes and ham, mixed vegetables and two corn fritter-type pancakes. It is a lot better than stopping at one of those fast food restaurants.
