***Update*** I was contacted by the GM and had a sincere communication. With this effort of goodwill, I look forward to trying the Brewpub again. Just returned from a fantastic getaway in Lewes/Rehoboth, DE. My girlfriend and I started the trip off with a tour of the Dogfish Head Brewery, followed by two nights at the new Dogfish Inn. We saved the Brewhouse in Rehoboth for our last night. This was an extremely poor choice. A place that is deemed the "soul of the company" by Sam the owner, could not have been further from the truth. It started off with a lousy server. Having ordered a sample of their distilled liquors, as well as a mixed drink, two ice waters, and a diet cola, we failed to receive our ice waters...that we asked our server for twice of a span of twenty minutes. (That long, because we only saw her twice in that whole time). Now, I know, that place gets pretty busy, however, this was late in the evening, on a Tuesday night and there were a handful of empty tables, and no waiting customers. We finally had to grab a busser and ask that kind woman for ice water. Eventually, ice water was delivered right at the time our main course was delivered (we already had our appetizers). We both ordered burgers and our fries were luke-warm, half soggy, half hard as a rock, one was completely raw! Really? How does that happen? At this point, there was no way we were complaining, as the server never came back to check-in. My girlfriend wanted a refill of her water and diet cola, which were left on the very edge of the table, begging to be refilled, yet the server ran past numerous times to return to other tables and never once stopped and asked how the food was or asked if we wanted drink refills. It was a real shame, as I was anticipating buying a lot of drinks that evening, yet, never went further than the liquor sampler and the mixed drink. Extremely dissatisfied with the whole experience, what a shame. Will not be back to visit the place Dogfish all started. I would warn others to think twice before visiting as well.

My son and I went there at 6 pm Tuesday, July 15th, and had an awful experience all the way around, from the minute we walked in the door. First, we were at the podium standing there, and the kid, I mean, gentleman seating guests just ignored me, and helped the 4 adults behind me. Not until I told the younger lady next to him that I was there first, literally 2 feet from him. He just took our name and proceeded to seat the 4 people he was told were not in front of me. Next I put my son who is 5 on an empty bar stool, had my 20$ bill in my hand, waved it to the lone bartender and about 5-10 min went by, nothing. then about 6 people came in, and when she finally got to me, she told me kids werent allowed to sit at bar, ok, put him down, and the see she is getting 4-5 drinks from the newly arrived folks.....and they said he was here first, meaning I was: she said, oh, I will get you something ? I told her, no thanks, really !! I mean, are they oblivious and upity now from the good reviews on these sites> Wait, it gets worse....we sit, wait 6-8 min to get drink orders in, I order a hot dog adn fries for my son, and drinks, then I order the 23$ crabcakes "Nothing but lump" the menu explained.....my order came first and his was 5 more minutes, granted its a Hot Dog folks. MY crabcakes were pathetic to say the least, having grown up in Maryland, and no was a Lmp looks like, there wasnt anyway......at all, balls of cakes, and not very good..worth 10$. At best ! and the beer, had Two of there best, Ale and 60 min IPA, both horrible......smelled, tasted like Smoky Ash Trays, finish was worse. My opinion, limited menu, slow service and worse beer and food. I was really looking forward to it, walked 4 blocks thinking this will be a special dinner, turned out to be a place I would Never frequent at this beach again Good Dogfish. NOT

I would give our experience at the new brewpub a disappointed 2.5 stars. Ive been drinking DFH for ages and have been to the old brewpub location a couple of times. I found the old location to be charming and enjoyed stopping by when our family was in town on vacation. The new brewpub is essentially a big noisy concert venue with tables. When we arrived we were told it was about a 30 minute wait. We headed to the new bar to grab some brews and see what they had on special for the holiday weekend. A handful of options were already kicked and werent replaced immediately. Shocking, considering this is supposedly a brewpub and its a holiday weekend. This is when you should be at the top of your game! When I looked around most of the employees were teenagers, maybe this had to do with what seemed like confusion and mismanagement. The half hour wait turned into an hour wait and we finally got our table. We ordered right away because at this point we were starving, our waitress was very nice. The food was brought out incorrectly and we ended up getting some other tables pizza and the wait staff attempted to deliver the same pizza about 4 times after that. Overall, the food was good, nothing insanely good or stuff I would be running back to try again. We got wings, salad, pizzas, and tacos. There was also some confusion with paying our bill as well. The lack of keg replenishment and poor service really dragged the experience down unfortunately. The old location is now a DFH general store with beer to go, crowlers, and merch. It would be cool if they served pints in there and had different beer than the brewpub. The bar area at the new brewpub was very crowded and very small.

We called ahead to find out the wait and were told that it would be 20 minutes so we decided to give this place a shot. There are two places to put in your name; one for inside seating and one for outside seating. This is not clearly marked, or if it is, could not be seen with all of the people standing around. When I approached the hostess stand, the girl that was working there delivered such a poor attitude. She did not greet me, did not even look at me until the conversation began like this; Me- "Hi. Can I put my name in for a table?" Her- "If you want to." Really? So I let this slide, put our name in expecting to wait the 20 minutes and were pleasantly surprised to get a table within 10 minutes. Our table service was not much better. The waitress gave my wifes drink to another table and it took a very long time to get a replacement. Food and drinks were slow to come out and our dinners arrived immediately after our appetizer (which I cannot stand). The food quality overall is good, but not great. The beer is excellent. The service that we received was horrendous. Unfortunately, because of the poor service, we will not return.
