The food itself was good. But the waitress didnt fill our drinks they were empty untill we were almost done. We had a group of 6 with 2 toddlers and she put pitchers of soda for we could serve ourselfs. She rarely came and cheaked on us untill we were waiting to leave. She handed us our cheak after we asked for it and called her again to come pick it up. After she cashed us out she gave us the ticket to sign and she had ALREADY put THE TIP and THE TOTAL amount HERSELF. Putting 20% tip making it 18 dollars on tip was totally not ok. I feel we should have a right to put the tip we think SHE deserves. Im not sure if they do this to everyone at this resturant or just us. But it was so wrong I felt really upset I talked to the guy up front and ask if they do that he said yes but if we wanted we could change it, we didnt. But Im never going there again. That was offensive made me feel like they thought we werent going to leave a good tip. I was a server once and we werent allowed to do that.. Also I know how to tip. Im Hispanic and a lot of us dont know how to tip I got stiffed a lot. But that shouldnt be the reason to make sure you get your tip by writing it down.

Sad to say that we had a very poor experience with the staff. I am not a complainer at all, the waitress seemed nice and the food was decent, but 3 / 4 of our orders came out wrong. One we accepted, one they took back and brought a new one within 15 minutes. But for me, I did not get my correct order until 45 minutes after we first ordered, and everyone else was finished eating. They tried to make us pay for the other dish because I ate part of it while waiting. After speaking with the manager, he took off half the price of the dish. There were other odd and unprofessional things that happened too, but that was our experience. We were there to celebrate my birthday. After all that, it honestly felt kind of insulting when the manager shallowly wished me happy birthday. I hope they manage to get their act together because the food was about all that was good.

When ordering we told server no tomato on chimichanga and no cilantro on my tacos food was delivered with tomatoes were cooked in the inside of the chimi and cilantro all over everything except my tacos I sent mine back waitress offered to bring pico sauce and other items with no cilantro. I said ok all I got was the same 2 soft tortillas with beef that I had sent back and nothing else. I sent it back again my other half picked through their sinner to remove tomato, I had no dinner and was still charged full price for dinner that was wrong twice and that I never ended up getting. So I paid 29.85 for a chimichanga dinner a soda and a beer.

Went in for a quick snack around happy hour. The salsa was thinner than Im used to, but it was super tasty and they didnt skimp on the cilantro. They have Negro Modelo on tap, which I prefer to Dos Equis. Few Mexican places have craft beers on tap, so it isnt something I expect. The veggie fajitas came out quick and hot and delicious. With the chips I always recommend splitting an entree because this place is very portion-generous. If youre two people or more, it probably is most convenient to grab a pitcher (they have half-pitchers as well) because the beers are 12 oz.

If youre expecting suburban Mexican food like Plaza Azteca in Vb, like I was mistakenly expecting, you will be disappointed. My crunchy taco shell was chewy, chips half stale too. Beef enchilada unseasoned, guacamole tasted like pennies (super weird flavor for guacamole). I dont like leaving negative reviews but I think my expectations are the same as a lot of people traveling through DE to NY from VA, and wanted to share that this place is unlike Hampton Roads Mexican even though the place seems very similar.

Well as I am used to going to the one in Rehoboth, we tried this one in Milford! The service was no good! The waitor never smiled, never checked on us! And the food was just not up to the standard as we are used to. The appetizer came with the meal. I will not be returning to this La Tonalteca!

Awesome food at both millsboro and milford. I get the same thing everytime I go and surprisingly there is little difference between the 2 places. Most restaurants you can see many differences. The only thing i can say is sometimes it is difficult to get drink refills

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the world. Their queso is amazing. The perfect combination of cheese and spice. Im partial to the chicken chimichangas. Youre not going to find anything fancy here, but youre going to get a great, consistent dish thats delicious.

We will NOT be going back. All I can say is pay in cash. I used my charge card and they took out more than they should. We left a very good tip and the waitress wanted more. Food NOT worth it. I tried to call and let the manager know. The mail box was full.

2nd time here. Both times had poor service. Trying to get refills on drinks was like trying to pull teeth both times we came. Which is sad for a place that serves spicy food. But besides that, great food. And friendly people.

The only thing worse is taco bell. I did like the tables and chairs. Service bad. Food was worse. I wouldnt recommend it. Just go to your local high school, and eat at the cafeteria. Its likely to be better than this place....

I enjoy my experience here all the time. I come for lunch almost everyday because of the great Lunch Specials. My daughter loves the complimentary chips and salsa. Would recommend to friends and family.

Theres not a lot of Mexican restaurants in the local area, but this food is still pretty typical. The Mole Poblanos is very good and their mixed drinks are nice and strong.

Authentic Mexican! Reminds us of Mexican restaurants in South Carolina. Stopped for lunch while towing an RV - plenty of parking. The decor is great too.
