Just won a best in ct award. However, its just a very small hole in the wall diner with grear food. Nothing fancy so if you are expectingcsoups salads and lime or lemon with your water and are thinking upscale dont go. This id a place for real down home good food. Burgers hand made fries. Great hot dogs and a decent breakfast menu this is not a place for you snobs out there. Just an old fashioned diner with a small menu and everything the owner makes is terrific. Supwr place for the hungry. One of the remaining very small diners with simole food being served. Just because it made top places in ct magazine. Doesnt mean its a 5 star restraunt. If yiu want very freash simole foids that taste awesome. This is the place your looking for. If your a rich snob thats looking fir the best of everything please stay away. We as patrons would rather not see you there. We enjoy our friendly conversations and neighbors that frequent this place. Again awesome food great service and down home old fashioned. Food

sorry we stopped here with some friends on a motorcycle ride through the country, the place was very interesting.. in need of some good cleaning with bleach and clean your diner, so much grease everywhere, wash the top of the soda cans when you bring them up from the cellar, use gloves when you handle raw meat, wash the glass thats behind the counter, on a positive side, it would be a nice diner if someone would keep it clean, and fresh French fries were good, good luck..

Very cool rail car style diner. The owner / chef is very engaging and makes you feel at home. The menu has diverse selections. He has an interesting "Breakfast Challenge" that allows you to eat a stack of food for free or pay up. My over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly. The home fries were good. The ham steak was very good and the rye toast didnt morph into fiber board after 2.69 minutes like most diners. Looking forward to a revisit.

Very friendly and communicative owner/cook. Food offerings is typical dinner like food - offers normal breakfast items and lunch as well (burgers, hotdogs, etc.). Its a tiny place and in the warmer months, he has outdoor seating as well.

Excellent food, wonderful staff , very accommodating! Pleasantly surprised to find vegetarian choices too. Highly recommend the veggie burger, cheese fries, and wings. Atmosphere of a classic diner cant be beat.

Best food place in Winsted by a mile. The fries are exquisitely delicious and the burgers are juicy and flavorful. I recommend going there.
