Firstly, I was impressed by the chefs personal visits to tables to inquire if they enjoyed the meal, the home made bread was delicious even w/out butter! You notice right away how popular this place is and there is a well populated presence. The tables are 2-person type set up against a cushioned, long wall-mounted seating situation. Personally, i enjoy the comfort and privacy of a booth but it was certainly comfortable enough and the food made it worth the trade-off. They actually take reservations which seems to be rarer these days. There is a trendy bar for those looking for that sort of thing, my divorced co-worker and her pals love it. The food however is wonderful and I think fairly priced for the effort and good ingredients its created with. I ordered the Bolognese w/home made pasta it was $19 for ex-to me thats reasonable. My sister ordered the cod dish which wasnt much more, we split both to try two entrees, for a nice restaurant...they actually give soda refills and chg under $2, thats xtremely rare! To cap it all off, we split a dessert which was to die for..a chocolate glazed top frosting with a choc creamed filling layered between. I went to heaven with that..simply delicious-like south end Hartford Ital bakery delicious! Oh I forgot the scrumptious bib-lettuce gorgonzola salad w/nice light dressing at $7, what a bargain. So frankly, great place, blue-back sq shops near downtown area where its located near CVS. Cheap public pkg behind the bldg you can cross through an alley way safely. And its a nice date place, if youre looking to impress someone with your culinary taste. Now, if you are looking for cheaper, mass quantity and family joint, hit Bertucci or Unos where theres tons of food cheap. But if you want a unique experience, exc wait staff, personable touch w/chef-owner, top notch-hand made, locally grown produce and nice ambience, this is the spot! Hope this review helps..i am very picky and I can say, Trevas passed my test.

The hostess was very accommodating as we continually switched our reservation from 5 to 4 to 3 people and from 8:00P to 7:30P to 15 minutes before we arrived. The atmosphere, ambiance, and decor reminded me of a restaurant on the lower end of mid end restaurants. That said, the service was probably a notch higher. We got seated quickly, the waitress was attentive, and the food came out rather rapidly. We shared the calamari, burrata, and brussel sprouts. The calamari was good, but not great. It was crispy yet still a little chewy. I like my calamari crispy through and through. The burrata - a creamy and sweet rendition of mozzarella - was perfectly paired with the peppery arugula. If all Italian food tasted this good, Id be a fan of Italian food for life. I wanted to try a pasta dish whose sauce wasnt a tomato base, so I got the tonnarelli cacio e peppe. Although others at the table had a different opinion of this plate, I thought it was fine, but not refined. It really looked and tasted like the kitchen just melted some pecorino cheese and mixed it in with the pasta, along with some black pepper. Eh. We shared the tiramisu, diavolo chocolate, and honey budino. The tiramisu was ordinary. The diavolo chocolate was a "seven layered" chocolate cake - you really cant go wrong with a multi-layered chocolate cake. Full disclosure, however, we counted the layers, and it looks more like ten than seven! The honey budino was a nice change from all the chocolate desserts - only thing is that there was a bit too much honey, which overpowered any other flavors in the dish. I know, I know, its a honey budino, but still....

Anything on the menu can be modified. Dont be scared to ask. Oh, and Marlon S..... on my receipt. Ask for him to be your server!! Food is consistent. I love polenta and theirs is the best I have ever had. service is phenomenal and we just love it there.Had dinner, my dinner was not completely correct, my waiter noticed and asked before I said anything and he immediately took my plate back to be corrected. While waiting manager brought out a dish of gnocchi/with truffle oil and some other magical ingredients. OMG, was it awesome and perfect until my meal came out. Wine selection is something to speak about. I always do!!! Buy a bottle though, cheaper and you can re cork the difference. Thanks everyone, keep up the great work.

Everything on their menu is on par, quality wise, with any other West Hartford restaurant. The Bucatini and squid ink pasta dishes have left the greatest impression. The appetizers are consistently memorable, with the quail, octopus, and various mozzarella types springing immediately to mind. Trevas bread is the finest Ive had at any Italian restaurant in CT, and its served with EVOO. Their ravioli is popular, though I cant opine, having not tried it yet. Ive heard good things about their steak, too - it sure looked good when I saw it last, though again this is something I havent tried. Overall, this is the best Italian in West Hartford and possibly in Hartford County.

I just got back from Treva, and I cant wipe the smile off my face. Absolutely one of the best meals Ive had anywhere. The vibe is perfect, service friendly, but not overbearing. The pace of the courses lets you enjoy every bite. Ill be back as soon as I can. The white bean, tomato and kale soup was like a time machine that sent me back to age 9 in my Italian nonnas kitchen. The entree was something Ive never tasted before in my life. Its places like Treva that make West Hartford such a great place to live.

It is nice to see a truly classic Italian restaurant in the West Hartford Center. Any person semi-experienced in fine dining will know that this chef knows EXACTLY how to do it right just by browsing the menu. The Caprese salad and Gnocci, which I had, reminded me of dishes I had in Italy. Reservation system seemed organized, knowledgeable waiter, food prepared beautifully. While I do love the competition Rizuttos and Bricco, I will definitely be back for more of these classic Italian dishes!

an excellent restaurant focusing on the food in a warm and inviting environment. I had the hanger steak - tender, flavorful, perfectly seasoned and accompanied with complementary sides. My wife had a pasta dish that was unique and also delicious. excellent bread, wonderful wine by the glass - everything just extraordinary. And when leaving the founder was there asking us how everything was, explaining our dishes and thanking us - wonderful!

My favorite restaurant. My husband and I eat here regularly - at least two times a month, sometimes more. The service is outstanding, weve yet to have any meal that isnt pure yumminess. Fresh made pasta is light and oh so good. The kitchen is happy to accomodate requests, and the food is really consistent. The happy hour is a great bargain, and the specials are always something fun. A MUST visit restaurant.

Food excellent, service was terrible. Last night we spent 140 dollars on dinner and the bartenders service was awful. The one bartender brought over bread with a bottle of windex in other hand. One bartender asked what we would like to drink while he had the faucet running and was washing glasses. Bartender could not describe food. My partner and I will never return.
