It was a terrible experience my husband and I had with the Butterfly Restaurant in West Hartford, CT. We were en route to Boston and stopped there for dinner. When we first stepped in the restaurant, the lady manager and 2 others waiters looked at us strangely. No one greeted us at all. Fortunately, the waiter who served us was a lot friendlier. The food was ok. After we left the restaurant for over one hour drive, my husband realized that he forgot to take back his credit card. I called the restaurant and the lady manager was very rude and did not offer any advice or help on how my husband could get the card back. I told her that we are too far away to go back and that we have no friend in CT and asked to simply mail the card back to us, she just said no and the reason was “who will be responsible if it got lost in the mail”. I asked to speak to the owner and she replied “it is not an emergency”. When asked when is the best time to call him, she said 1 or 2 O’clock. When my husband called around that time, he was told the owner was not there. Again, the owner/manager refused to discuss how to send us back the card. This restaurant offered no customer service at all and I would not recommend any one to dine there.

This was the WORST expereince Ive had at a restaurant. The staff were rude from the moment we walked in, telling us to move and bumping into us. Once we were seated in the dinning room and were served they never acknowledged us again. Theyou wouldnt even look at our table. Once we asked for the check we decided not to leave a tip due to the lack of customer service and blatant rudeness. The waiter asked where the tip was, when we tried to explain our dissatisfaction he threw down the napkin and told us "dont come back, we wont serve you" as he walked away he yelled shameful and turned out the lights in the dinning room. Im disgusted my experience at this establishment and would encourage others to try a different restaurant.

If I could give them less than one star I would. The service is deplorable. The staff is disrespectful. The waiter pushed one of the people dining with me and told her to move while trying to order from the bar. We were hungry and decided to stay. When seated we were not tended to. We had to get their attention every time we needed something although they walked by us several times. Mind you they were not busy. I decided to not leave a tip, the guy asked why not. I explained calmly that we were not treated with respect since we walked in. He waved me off and told us to get out and that we would never be served there again. He then continued by taunting us as he walked away yelling shameful shameful.

I cant vouch for the day or evening, but on a Saturday night, this bar is home to the worst karaoke in new england! I was excited to hear that there was a place near me that did karaoke, but was so disappointed. The DJ had no regard for where the requests came from, so we got to listen to one table of five sing for an hour straight while we patiently waited for our names to be called. In the mean time we just watched as people drunken stumbled through the bar from being WAY overserved. After an hour and a half of waiting, our name never got called. Will definitely NEVER rerun for karaoke again!!

I love that we were greeted kindly and seated promptly unlike so many other restaurants where they have to have a conference before deciding where to seat you. Butterfly staff seated us promptly, our waiter came immediately and had impeccable timing by checking on us often enough without being too much. I ordered Hunan Chicken. it looked great and tasted even better! My boyfriend had the Dragon dish which was General Tso chicken and a shrimp dish. Best General Tsos Ive had in a long time! We also had a pupu platter which was bountiful and delicious. Go to Butterfly. You will be delighted!

I went despite the reviews I read because I had a coupon. I had a delightful meal with live piano music. Great service (we had the waiter, the hostess, I believe the manager taking care of us. We got the jalapeno and fried shrimp, and steamed dumplings for starters. Neither was presented beautifully, but the dumplings were great and the shrimp was new and interesting and straight up yummy. We ordered the Gemini to split as an entree. Very good! The pianist was great.

If you know good chinese food then you would understand that their food quality is poor. If youre gonna charge $9 for 4 pieces of coconut shrimp.......please be at least fresh shrimps, not refried. The atmosphere and decor is nice, they shouldve matched the food with they quality of their decor. Two style chicken was very disappointing, chicken fried rice was also. If youre in West Hartford, go to New Asia Restaurant...... their Food quality is GREAT!!!!!

The food was very average. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, and really was nothing to write home about. On top of that it didnt seem fresh. The service was also average, I felt like they were trying to rush me at every stage. The restaraunt seemed clean, and had a nice spacious atmosphere.

Both my wife and I are Chinese and we eat out all around the Hartford county. We found out Butterfly a year ago and has been a loyal customer since. The restaurant is by far the best one - authentic Chinese food, great taste and reasonable price. I wish we knew about this place sooner.

Nicer than usual atmosphere for a Chinese restaurant. Staff is generally nice and they were accommodating recently in handling a large birthday crowd where we brought our own cake. Menu offers well-prepared versions of the usual suspects and a few nice surprises. Full bar.

Absolutely delicious and great atmosphere! Our waiter was extremely patient, aware and attentive. Definitely recommend this to anyone that wants to sit down to eat at a wonderful Chinese restaurant. They offer both Americanized Chinese dishes and traditional.

On a scale of 1-5, the food quality is a 2. The host was very rude. Didnt greet us...talked on the phone the entire time while taking my order. My order was prepared incorrectly because of this and was taken back for a redo. It was a waste of my time and money.

Not the worst but not the best either. Service is just okay. Waiters dont check in on you enough to see if theres anything else you need. Food was pretty good, expensive but really good. We left just a small tip because the service wasnt all that great.

It starts when you enter. Gracious, friendly lady that seats you. Great food- best in state! Selection and flavor can not be out done. Waitress outstanding and helpful. Great lunch and dinners! Customers for years - can not be beaten - Outstanding.

kj Ed is the best kj u cld ask for. place is best one ive been to in ct, they have more songs, like a better/newer list, and it usually gets pretty packed. younger crowd, good drinks, kinda small bar area but over all a great time.

Karaoke is fun but the service is always disappointing. The food is definitely good (not as good as across the street), but the prices are not comparable to what you get. We have tried it over the years and been "meh" each time.
