The owner is absolutely miserable and truly had no clue what real customer service is. I walked in on Sunday with my son to order take out. I asked him if I could order a special roll I wanted to create myself. He said I could, but it would cost me almost $20? I still said ok...only to continue to get an attitude while I placed the rest of my order. Then when I presented the coupon...I almost was made to feel bad that I did. Now the good part. I got home to enjoy this over priced sushi with my wife and family. Two bites in, I bit into something hard in my salmon roll, only to find a staple that I almost broke my tooth on. I called and the owner answered and I explained what had happened. No apology, no concern, only a complete argument that I was trying to get a free meal. Are you kidding???? I have worked in the service business my entire working career and this is by far the worst I have EVER experienced. I had my wife call back pnly to have her get into a screaming match trying to get him to understand how this could have been a real issue if I had swallowed the staple. The owner wanted us to bring him the staple, which my wife finally gave in and went back to Unionville with the salmon hanging off the bent staple from my tooth. I have never tried to "get a free meal" in my life. I cant believe this place is still in business. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I live in Farmington and this is one business owner who is clueless how powerful a bad review can be for his business. This should have been handled a bit differently.

Bought a groupon that said hibachi or sushi dinner. They honored it, but only after the server tried really hard to convince us that it only applied to hibachi. The manager was called and, after he failed to convince us to eat at hibachi (two people in our party dont eat red meat), said he would honor it. All of this delayed our meal by 40+ mins. Service was extremely slow, the manager was angry at us, and the meal that the server recommended was horrible (The entire meal was shrimp and avocado on toothpicks. Almost no sauce and very very strange).

This is the absolute worst service for hibachi we have ever experienced and we go out for hibachi regularly. We had reservation for 7pm, were seated immediately and the it took 45 minutes to be served water and drinks. It has now been 1 hour and 20 minutes and we have still not seen our hibachi chef. Quality of food has been good (salad/mushroom soup) but who can stand to wait this long when you have 7 children in a party of 11. And we were here to celebrate a special occasion (2 birthdays). Terrible! We wont be back.

Nice selection, the sushi could use a little more flavor and freshness though. Nice atmosphere, and the hibachi cooking show (every time someone orders it) is pretty fun. EDIT: soups are pretty bad in term of freshness, dont even bother ordering them. They taste like theyve been on the stove all day to keep them hot, but have been over-reduced as a result which makes them taste really salty and sour. The rice on the sushi is kind of dry, warm, and too vinegary.

This place was pretty good. Went with a couple friends for drinks and Sushi. Def not bad but I wasnt blown away by any of the food. Service was very fast which was nice and I did like the atmosphere! I did have a good time and a nice meal but nothing that would make me pick this over some of my preferred sushi spots. I also live in Bloomfield so this was a 30 minute trek through NOWHERESVILLE. 3 out of 5 - Scooby Baby

My son and I go several times a month. Some times our service is wonderful others not so great. The food has always been wonderful but I find the restaurant a bit over crowded with tables too close together but the hibachi area roomy. The staff for the most part are absolutely nice a few not so . You cant beat the 40% off sushi which makes going there worth the hassle of finding a decent parking space.

We had the Hibachi Sword Fish and the Tuna Steak. Both were cooked well and tasted good. The Hibachi Sword Fish was really good. The wait staff were adequate but not exceptional. They did get more friendly over the course of our meal. The atmosphere was busy and somewhat loud when we arrived around 7:30 but got less noisy as the rush died down. The restaurant is close so Ill definitely come back.

The sushi is the best in the area, and the weeknight sushi roll discounts are a great bargain. The other Japanese dishes are always solid, and the sake and Japanese beer lineup is well-rounded. The hibachi is big on entertainment value and a crowd-pleaser for groups who gather to celebrate family events, but the food there is a bit more pedestrian.

Do not order Hibatchi at a regular dining table.... or some of your order will be cold. It also took forever for it to come out only to find the seafood over cooked and extremely salty. The lobster was not fresh over cooked and was like trying to chew beef jerky as was the shrimp. The fried rice was great the fried noodles were Ice cold....

I love this place! My wife and I eat here at least twice a week and we love all of the staff! Lance and Peter are amazing and the great sushi or hibachi is the side benefit of hanging out with them for the evening. The place has been crazy lately, which is a great sign, but you better get there early if you want a seat.

Food was good. Portions a bit smaller than some sushi places. Special rolls tasty at a pretty fair price. One thing: 50%coupons published in saver papers dont really give you 50% off all sushi: only things on a special menu thats rather limited. Seemed a little bait and switchy. Nice waitresses good at explaining this.

Not bad, but for great sushi I still prefer Meadow in Simsbury, drive is a bit longer for me, but well worth the service, where the owner himself overlooks the whole operation in his sharp tailored suit. Top notch, fresh and delicious food, great presentation, modern and super clean place. LOVE Meadow !!!

Excellent food. Sushi and sashimi are fresh, artistic and thoroughly enjoyable. If youre into hibachi they have an area exclusively for Hibachi lovers. Their prices are nominal to hi but the experience and the flavor pallets of the food is worth the extra few dollars for a wonderful experience.

This is the 4th time here. Cant beat the sushi specials. Just be ready to beg your server to serve you. I have never been anywhere that the service is this bad. I think they know your just here for the discount sushi so they blow you off. Gritting my teeth and waving at my server now.

My wife and I are regulars at this place. Peter is great behind the bar, great customer service, always takes care of everyone. Best sushi Ive had hands down. Beats anyone in the area, and anyone Ive had in Boston as well. Great drinks, great sushi, good price, cant beat it.
