The food was great, the white chocolate, macadamian nuts and strawberry pancakes were delicious scoring a 10/10 for me. My California omelet was perfect with avocado & a good amount of onions. My SO ordered a western omelet and it was great up until he almost swallowed a quarter size egg shell. They were nice about it but attempted to "take off" the omelet from our bill but only took 5 dollars off. I only told them so they can make sure it doesnt happen to anyone else and they can be more careful. The staff tried to make it right which is what I expected so Im not mad about that, I just feel they could have taken the omelet off the bill entirely. I will try this chips again but I will probably skip omelets or eggs entirely. Other than that, very good service. All employees supported each others patrons which is rare these days. They are good and can only get better from there. Thank you for trying to make it better.

This place is new & I have seen very long lines on weekends to get in, so I was interested to check it out. Now, Im not sure why its so busy. The food is unimaginative and not even made particularly well. It wasnt bad enough to complain about, just kind of stale & boring. The prices werent bad, but you can get the exact same food (prepared much better) at any dinner for 1/2 the price. I will say that the lines on weekends are much shorter than at opening & I had no wait at all to be seated; in fact the place was pretty empty. Obviously, I am not the only person to find the food below standard. Save yourself some money & make it yourself at home, I guarantee you can make it better.

My favorite breakfast restaurant of all time! Was a big fan of the Wethersfield location but Southington is a much closer location for me and my girlfriend. We come weekly and have deemed the pancakes the best of all weve tried, as well as the ommelettes ("fluffy" or "diner" style). Ive recently also discovered their burgers as well, which are comparable to any traditional pub style burger. They offer sweet potato waffle fries here which is super unique and a no brainer whether Im eating breakfast or dinner. If youre looking for a new "breakfast spot" or a perfect cheat meal with Instagram worthy pancakes and proportions, Chips is the place to go.

Just wanted to post what a disappointment it was to just have to walk out of the new Southington location. We were really looking forward to it and yet we sat...and sat... and the manager and waitstaff were right next to us discussing how slow it was. Obviously, no need to hustle to at the least even help us with a drink. Needless to say bad taste in our mouth or not since we didnt get to eat, we wont come again and certainly wont recommend it. Manager should be disappointed he let his staff down. My husband addressed the manager and he just blankly stared at him, when asked if he even care he nodded and quietly responded yes and that was it!

The service was horrible. A waitress brought food to the wrong table, the kid at the wrong table touched half the food (after having his fingers in his mouth). The waitress proceeded to bring the food to the right table after the child touched the food, and they didnt swap the touched food at all or didnt even tell the women the food she ate was touched by someone else. The women at the right table continued to eat the food that was touched. Tables were not cleaned and was given the silverware from the table that wasnt used before us that they touched. Would not recommend whatsoever.

Lots of seating, we never have to wait for a table. They also let me bring the stroller in and park it next to my table--since my baby is too young for a high-chair this is important to me. Menu has a good selection. The prices are a little high BUT you have to take into consideration that this is a locally owned restaurant group in Connecticut. I am always happy to spend a little more at local businesses. I recommend the sausage gravy and biscuits and the cinnamon bun pancakes.

We went there once with friends and the food was pretty good . Then we ordered a take out order a few weeks later and they screwed up the order . We called and they said they would take care of us the next time . When we ordered the next time for a take out order it was not cooked as ordered and they only took $ 5.00 off for the order they screwed up the time before . All I can say eating there isnt bad , but the take out is just not worth the time .

Great food here. Their pancakes are delicious and their selection of syrup is vast. I have not tried anything but breakfast food at Chips, but if you want great breakfast food anytime of the day this is the place to go and eat. Fast friendly staff. From the time we ordered to the time we received our food was only 15 minutes. A big plus is that its down the street from Lake Compounce.

My rating will go up once the wait staff becomes more comfortable with the flow of the job Im sure. The food was positively amazing. Im gluten free and the pancakes were to die for. Really tasty! The service was lacking. Our waitress was helping to train someone, so she was not as attentive as she could have been. It took awhile for her to come back to put in our order

Pancakes were good but not worth the money. Western Omelet was barely filled - and instead of diced items they were silvered which had no flavor and Way over priced for eggs !! Bacon was flimsy and not much flavor. Homefries were average and expensive for such a small portion. Toast was over done. Tried it, however not interested in going again!!!!!

Food and service was great. I always get the wheat chocolate chip banana pancakes which are amazing. Plus, they include real VT maple syrup on the table. My wife gets the grilled cheese with avocado and french fries which are crispy and tender insider. Always great and friendly service. This is our fifth Chips that we have been to.

Their menu is mostly breakfast and they serve almost nothing that their website says they do website says they serve turkey dinner and its not on the menu and when I asked for it I was told they did not offer that. Menu is very limited other than breakfast items. Will certainly NOT be back. We ended up only ordering drinks.

We decided to try out Chips and were extremely disappointed. Not only was the service bad, we were also overcharged for a meal that none of us enjoyed, and, when the check was corrected the cost of breakfast still came to around 17 or 20 dollars per person. I dont plan on going back.

Food price is very fair for the amount of food you get. The fries were hot and crispy, avacado was fresh, the best cole slaw Ive had at any restaurant. Our waitress was very attentive and knew the menu inside and out. Service was quick. It gave all you could ask for.

Went For Breakfast This Morning; Food was OK, and Service was Outstanding! There are A lot of Options, Food is Reasonably priced, and I Didnt Leave Hungry. Thanks [Allison] For a Great Experience; Look Forward to Returning and Trying Dinner Menu..
