If I could leave zero stars, I would. Arrived at this establishment as a party box 5 adults & my 2 year old son who has multiple disabilities, including epilepsy, and is in a wheelchair for his own safety. This restaurant has booths in the front room as well as a separate area with traditional tables seating 20+ people. We were told we could squeeze our party into "one of the larger booths", however, there was a support bar preventing the wheelchair from being able to go under it. We asked if we could sit at one of the tables in the other room & were told "that room is reserved". I reiterated that my son could not sit at the table because of the support & they were VERY rude & said "I dont know what to tell you. The room is reserved for the church ladies, this is all we have." I dont know if they are aware of this or not, but they are required by law to accommodate people with disabilities & they refused-not to mention, I guarantee that if they had explained to "the church ladies" that they had to move them to accommodate a 2 year old boy with disabilities, they wouldnt have had a problem with it! Do not give these rude people your business!

We decided to go for a nice motorcycle ride from NY to VT for the day. We headed into Rutland at around 1 and decided to try this restaurant. WORSE MISTAKE EVER! We had a group of 5 of us. The waitress took our drink orders at the same time. 2 of us got our drinks within a couple mins while 3 of us waited 15 for ours. She then took our food orders at the same time and sure enough 2 of us got our orders promptly while 3 of us had to wait 20 for ours. Not to mention she got one of our orders wrong. The service was horrible, the food had no flavor, bathrooms were a wreck. I wouldnt recommend this place to anybody. Very, very, very disappointed.

I have never had such poor service at a restaurant in my entire life! I travel back and forth from NewYork to Vermont, and while in Vermont decided to meet a family member there for lunch. The food was cold and undercooked. As if that wasnt enough the waitress was pouring coffee that was TOO HOT, the pot was So hot it busted open leaving burns on my elderly mother.. Who was taken to the hospital where she was treated with 2nd and 3rd degree burns! I have not nore will I ever return to this establishment! (I am only putting one star because no stars is not a option!)

Dont eat there! My wife and I went in to order out at 8:30 pm...the waitress Linda was very kind, but the cook (who turned out later to be Mr. Seward the owner!) looked agitated that he had to cook a scallop dinner so late and was slamming things around, he even put his bare hands in the fries to place in the fryulator The scallops and fries were melted into the styrofoam and the coleslaw was rancid! Worst food ever, we didnt eat it and the dog even turned his nose away

I ate a delicious egg sandwich here before hitting the slopes at Killington. It seemed difficult to find a place open early enough, but my friend and I were very pleased with what we found. Our service was very friendly. She told us that omelettes werent being served, but that was fine because I wanted a sandwich anyway. I wish I remember the servers name, but her hospitality was a great way to start the day. I was also able to buy some maple syrup from the gift shop!

Sewards is simple, unpretentious, and cheap. I appreciate being able to eat without being overwhelmed by obnoxious decor and TV screens everywhere, and I dont have to absorb the cost of their latest remodel by paying $11 for a turkey sandwich like most of the hipster joints around. The menu is not going to blow your mind, so dont expect haute cuisine - just tasty comfort food. Waitresses act like they wanted to retire 20 years ago, so I take off a star for that.

If I had the choice to cure cancer or close this restaurant I wouldnt even think twice about shutting this place down. My autistic son was treated terribly and they wouldnt help accommodate with his needs. I almost got in a fight with the owner and the atmosphere was horrible. Everyone in their was a sweaty biker in a leather jacket and I felt like they wouldnt stop staring at me the whole time. NEVER GO HERE!

An old family restaurant that still exists. I used to go there as a child for ice cream cones. They make their own ice cream. Its nice to see theyre still there. Food is good, service is slow but then they cook the food when you order. I had a good waitress, she knew my mother and seated us where my mother wanted to be seated - my mother has a walker. Thank you for keeping this place open.

Wow, this place needs repair. I remember going here 25 years ago when I was growing up, and it was a respectable, nice place to go. Now, the years show. The sign is gone, the ceiling tiles are black, and I decided not to order food. The young kids serving did their best, but... I wont be back. Sad to see such a staple of my childhood slide into neglect and disrepair.

Cook/ owner was terrible. Most places if they are out of ingredients they ask the customer about a substitute but not here he adds what he wants even if a customer has a food allergy then refuses to remake a different omelette while hollering this so the whole restaurant hears. A total rude jerk, will not be going back!

If you are a local, you will know this place and love it; if you are expecting anything special, youre in the wrong place. The iced cream is good (long lines in the spring & summer), the gift shop has typical Vermont merchandise and the food is fair.

The place reminds me of the forties which I absolutely love, and the waitress was incredibly kind. The food was also amazing and still tastes good after you bring it home and reheat it. Absolutely love this place and I would love to work there.

Canned chicken, canned peas, frozen fish. Had I known this was going to be food I could buy at my local price chopper and cook it (better) myself at home, I would have done that. Worst meal since grade school lunch.

This place used to be the best place to eat in Rutland. Now, it kind of sucks. The food quality has gone downhill fast. The ice cream is still great, though. But, not much else.

I like this place - I am a regular and it is like my second family. The food is average however the waitresses are friendly and I like that.

OK Food, service seemed to be ok. Rather dated, seems to be popular with the older crowd, i think i was 1 of 2 people under 40 there
