It is amazing that this restaurant classifies itself a wine bar. I questioned whether the residents in New Canaan know the difference between two-buck chuck and good wine as the place was packed. The first bottle we ordered should have been a good Super Tuscan. We sent it back as it was sour, so to play it safe we then ordered a bottle of Chianti. Against our better judgment the waiter talked us into a different bottle of Chianti, BIG MISTAKE, the wine was horrible, probably the worse bottle of Chianti we have ever had. At this point, we were embarrassed, beginning to think we became wine snobs since the place was crowded. I then order the best red by the glass, which was a cab and cost $17.............again it, was the worse cab I have ever had, but for $17, it should have been decent, even in New Canaan. Although the food was good it could not be appreciated with the cheap wines pawn off as something special...........Get with the program Cava, the days of ordering cheap wine from your distributor and pawning it off as expensive imports making high profit margins are over, maybe the people in New Canaan are far from being wine coinsures, but they will figure it out sooner or later...........very disappointing!!!

nice place, food is ok. I ordered crispy calamari and caprese as apetizers, was good. After salmon for my wife and pizza broccoli rabe and sausage for me. The salmon was ok, but i dont liked the pizza, too much garlic, withouth borders, after 2 slices was disgusting. I hope they will improve with pizza. Service was ok.

Upon entering this lower floor level restaurant, one feels as though the are stepping into a wine cellar. The walls are stone and brick and the ceilings are coffered. The entrees are well prepared and on par with Manhattan. Dessert cannot be missed here.

definitely has potential but the food needs to step up a notch to match the prices. atmosphere is great and the italian wines are excellent. try setting up a private wine paired dinner for a group of friends.

Had an excellent meal with 12 family members, all coming from out of town. Good service, good food, nice wine-if you know what your doing and reasonable prices for NC. Highly recommend this cozy place.
