Chef Luis on Elm Street in New Canaan is a family friendly cosy restaurant with especially good service served up with a smile. Youre gong to enjoy the menu served by Chef Luis who is always present at this casual chic Zagat rated bistro. We had the best seafood we had tasted in a long time. The delicately seasoned halibut with cheese and the scallops, both house specialties were simply excellent. For those who dont want seafood there is always the taco bar, Chef Luiss amazing salads and the deliciously seasoned chicken. We had the best service weve had in a long time with friendly personable service in a warm intimate atmosphere. I recommend Chef Luis to everyone I know.

Chef Luis is a great guy. My girlfriend and I just stumbled on to this town and came to eat here and Chef Luis came out to say hi and gave us an appetizer on the house. Such a nice guy. It turns out that the calamari was one of my girlfriends favorite meals while visiting the States. She loved it. We both had a mix of food and some really good wine. The atmosphere here is very comfortable and full of locals, but everyone was very nice. Not pretentious as you might expect with a local joint. I cant wait to come back to New Canaan and this will be the first place we stop to eat when we do. Thanks Chef Luis!!!

One of my faves in New Canaan. Good carnitas and cocktails. The best thing on the menu is the bean soup that is a bit spicy but ever so tasty. Worth a visit; always in the running when the wife and I are deciding where to have dinner. Oh and the staff is super friendly, everytime.

Great food. Its hard to find a place that make descent calamari, but chef Luis calamari is simple the best. His quessedias are amazing. I simply cant not recommend this place enough! I will deffinetly be visiting chef Luis very soon.

I love Chef Luis as a person and as a chef. The food is great, the small number of tables is intimate and it is really nice to bring your own wine. Luis always comes out to say hi and make you feel at home.
