This is the review that was posted on Yelp that Mezzo Grille chose to block due to a poor rating: With the exception of the pleasantness of our servers replacement and the food being so-so, this experience was AWFUL. I was with a party of 5. Our server - a blonde chick with a SERIOUS attitude problem - had much more important things to do than check in with us, take a drink order, or anything else that would place her near our table. We waited at least 30 minutes before she made her first appearance. The average wait from from the placement of the drink order and receipt of the drink was at least 15 minutes. Eventually she took our food order. We ordered at 8pm. At 9:15pm our food was served. Without silverware or napkins. In the hour and 15 minutes blondey visited our table once. When we inquired as to why it was taking so long she said "oh....yeah....they said it would be a few more minutes." She walked away from our table without take another drink order from our entire party. She only asked 2 of the 5...my friend had to flag her down to place her order and the server was visibly put out that she had to do her job. FINALLY our food arrived. One of us had a burger ordered "well done" and it was RAW. Seems that cooking it for over an hour would have taken care of that! My friend - the one who inconvenienced the server by asking for a drink - physically walked around the restaurant to find the server so the burger problem could be fixed. Even after the server was told that it needed to be cooked, she still took her time making her way to the table. She was too busy chatting with co-workers at the hostess station. At this point, one of us spoke with the owner and requested that the blonde girl NOT return to our table. Enter the pleasant waitress. :) We decided to have one more drink. When my glass of wine arrived with something floating in it, I was all set. Our check came and not a single item was comped - including the RAW burger!!! The response when questioning whether the check was right, the response was "Do you want me to comp the burger? Is that what youre getting at?" Seriously awful experience. It was my first and last visit to Mezzo.

Very unsatisfactory bar service. The outside bartender, Cadi V. (according to the receipt) first of all ignored us for at least 20 minutes to flirt with patrons on either side of us, then refused to make us a Black Russian and insulted us by asking "Have you ever been to a bar before?" while we clearly saw Kahlua and vodka on the speed rack behind her. She then decided that all three of us wanted rum and diet cokes and poured them without asking. Our third friend corrected her and said he wanted a bud lite, which she gave to him in addition to the rum and coke, charged us for all four of the drinks and just walked away before we could tell her we didnt want the fourth drink. The only redeeming quality of the night was the security, who listened intently, made sure we got the drinks we wanted (on the house) and assured us the issue would be brought up to the management. Long story short, if your bartender is scantily dressed and covered in tattoos, find another bartender (and make friends with security

I am a local from Middletown and have been consistently going to Mezzos bar every summer for the experience, and ignored how extremely expensive the drinks were because I loved the atmosphere and all of my friends that attended. Weve gone thousands of times and not once have had any issues. We are respectful people. However, there is a brand new bouncer there that clearly isnt from the area. Ive seen him twice and both times have been a disaster. He just starts yelling and screaming randomly and kicks innocent people out right and left before anything happens. Random people, who arent even associated with the acts, who walk out of Mezzos are kicked out too. This place used to be a must on a Friday night. Now, my friends and I will never return, along with many other people. I think Ill give my $100 bar tab to someone else, thank you. Once they pull out that stick that is well up the new bouncers rear, we will return.

Terrible night. We were out for my birthday on a Saturday night in Middletown. We stopped in rather late around 1am and ordered a quick round of beers. The bartender told us it was close to last call, which is understandable as it was pretty late. Suddenly the bouncers began to circle us as we tried to quickly finish the beers they had served us just 3 minutes earlier. It must have been some intimidation technique they use to get people to leave. On our way out we watched as the bar staffs friends got let in while everybody else was forced to leave. The bouncers started to yell and actually got physical with some of our group on our way out. I wont be going back or recommending Mezzo to anybody.

We have gone here several times and enjoyed the food but not tonight. It took over 20 minutes to get our appetizer and then before we barely started our meals arrived. Lobster roll was not buttered and toasted and lobster was over cooked. New menu and new chef ... Restaurant needs to get act together. Well wait until we hear better news from place before eating here again.

My first time there, it was great. The food was so good. My drink was good. The live music was nice. The waiter seemed really busy but still very attentive and didnt make a single mistake. The manager Al was fantastic. Came over, checked on us several times and really showed he cared his customers were happy. We left before it got jam packed with club goers.

You shouldnt even get one star. The menu sucks, nothing to basically pick from. Prices are outrageous for the amount of food you get. Food sucked and service was the worst. Very rude staff. They werent even busy and the waitress Bailey screwed up everything and took forever for everything. I think if she smiled, her face would have cracked..

I have visited many times for the Prime Rib special. I took my elderly mother (who is easily confused) and I found the folks to be very accommodating and helpful. Food was terrific. We visited this favorite many times.....it was all excellent...and staff were helpful.

Decent beer, solid American fare. Have a half price wine night too. Summer weekends here are great though. They have a sweet tiki bar and gorgeous courtyard. Hot spot on weekends. Big tvs in bar for sports too.

Very limited menu items. Turkey burger was not home made but frozen. I was told they make them by the waitress. Risotto was very bland. Only 2 items on the dessert menu. Would not come back or recommend.

Had a great time with my friends. We sat out on the patio, the live music was great and the tiki bar made me feel like I was on vacation! This place is a must if your traveling through the Middletown area

Horrible service food was nasty would never come back ever ever again to this place and on top of it they could even honor there own 50 dollars certificate very very disappointed
