El Pulpo is like no other in Middletown! I hope this restaurant is here to stay! My husband and I ordered the rabbit and escargot stew appetizer. We were skeptical at first, but wanted to try something new. The waiter/bartender (gentleman with the stylish beard) told us that we will not be disappointed. Aaaaand we were NOT! The dish had so much flavor and was stewed to perfection. Their delicious bread paired with the stew very nicely. For the entrees, I had the pollo rostizado (roasted chicken) with mouth-watering garlic spinach and cheese risotto to die for! The cheese risotto was so good that my husband ordered it as a side to his dish, the parrillada (grilled meats). Our meal was ended by a free aperitif which was a creamy rum drink. It was very delicious! Next time were coming back with a heartier appetite to fit dessert. El Pulpo makes homemade flan. Flan in Middletown is a Godsent!

This evening was probably my fifth visit. The food is always on point. We have never had anything that has been less than exceptional. We will continue to visit frequently. As a restaurant manager for many years I am impressed by the consistency of the food. The service has always been friendly and attentive without being pretentious or stifling. The person who said the food here is mediocre obviously knows nothing about food or restaurants. Probably one of those customers looking for food to be comped.

The food is amazing. The octopus salad is delicious. The octopus off menu item was also delicious, with a little spicy kick. We ordered paella, seafood risotto, parpadelle that was with seafood in a lobster cream sauce--all delicious! We had a crowd of seafood lovers and we were all more than satisfied! Some of the items are a little pricey, but its worth it. We will definitely be back!

My wife and i have always enjoyed El Pulpo in Southington, so we decided to try the one in Middletown and we were not not disappointed at all. We made a meal of tapas and dessert, with the sauteed artichoke hearts and the piquillo peppers stuffed with braised lamb being two standouts. The staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is relaxed and the prices are very reasonable.

The food is extraordinary! Went with 8 other people, and got a taste of just about everything people ordered, and each was better than the next! I had the pan seared duck with raisin risotto and spinach with a blueberry sauce. I wasnt sure how the blueberries would be with duck, but it was amazing. And that was the best risotto I have ever had! Would certainly recommend!!

Popular location tapas and Spanish food. Came on a Saturday after doing Adventure Room with family. Was quiet when we got there but filled by 7pm. Spanish peppers stuffed with lamb was really goood as were the artichoke hearts. Calimare was a bit plain but everything else was quiet good. Id come again but would probable want to make a reservation if dining later.

Rude, horrible and discriminating. Runaway, dont walk. Unless you dont mind wasting your hard earned money stay far away. There are far superior choices for a fantastic restaurant in, Middletown, CT. THE STAFF MAKE FOR A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE and the food is mediocre at best. I look forward to the day when they close.

One of our favorite restaurants. The sea scallops are out of this world every time. The clam appetizer my husband requested was fresh and delicious. We go for our anniversary, and they made us a beautiful Happy anniversary dessert on the house. Try this place. Youll be glad you did!

Wonderful atmosphere and Menu. Chris had great suggestions and we chose the Chorizo Español and an off the menu grilled Octopus for tapas. For the main plate we chose, based on Chris suggestion, the paella mariscos and it was fantastic. Great staff. We will be coming back soon!

Was there for the Middletown Stroll for Charity on June 8 2016 - they provided us with wonderful appetizers. Noticed that they have "Wednesday Paella Nite" for $16.99 I gotta try that.

Love it! Having our rehearsal dinner here it was so yummy. Love the lamb stuffed peppers, the goat cheese in marinara, salt cod cakes, crostini- pretty much everything was good.
