Heres the dealio peeps. Id def go back cuz the atmosphere and decor are spot on cool, BUT, I was there tonight (sat 7pm), got good drinks relatively quickly.. but waited a solid HOUR for an app and a chicken sandwich. The Mushroom app was undercooked while the (sliced) chicken sandwich was soooo dry... drier than charcoal briquettes. Seriously, this chicken was a straight up chocking hazard.. and okay maybe youre saying "your fault for ordering a chicken sandwich at a bar" ... so okay then take that *hit off the menu! Bottom line.. booo. Shame cuz the digs are top notch. Go for drinks... but dont go if youre looking for something in a reasonable amount of time and def NOT for the chicken sandwich.

This place is tucked away below in downtown Middletown CT. We were instantly comfortable when greeted as we walked in. Watch your step because its dark (Cavern) and your eyes are still adjusting, so its easy to miss that first step coming in. They only have one burger on the menu, but they do it right. Hand packed 8 oz. bacon cheeseburger with cubed slab bacon, smoked gouda cheese, sauteed mushrooms, red onion, garlic aioli, on a brioche bun. Superb! Plenty of different beers on tap and cocktails to choose from. Well be back for sure.

I love this place. The food is always perfect. Ive been here a number of times and Ive never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and usually they remember your face which I love. The food is properly sourced, organic and delicious. They serve until midnight also, which is great for those of us who are night owls. My favorite thing to get is the bacon burger. Its literally the best burger Ive ever had, always cooked to perfection. I get it on the sourdough bread, like a grilled cheese. Its phenomenal! Highly recommended!

What a great cozy spot. Multi purpose spot is great for a date with the wifey or for guzzling back some cold ones with the fellas. Food quality is well beyond elis , though menu is not quite as bar-ish. Beer selection is on point. Plenty of paid parking right out front and easy to find. Not very handi cap accessible.If you visit, you have to get the brussel sprouts.

When you walk in you instantly get the speakeasy vibe from this place. Loads of bar room, tables galore and lots of standing room too. The drink list here is awesome and the bartenders can pretty much make anything off menu as well. Tap list is equally as awesome with loads of variety.

Great find in Middletown! Excellent food ... better than most chain restaurants and a nice selection of craft beers and cocktails. If you like mozzarella and olives you must order the Burratta ... outstanding. Recommend the scallops and risotto and street tacos ... Ill be back.

The food was spot on, the staff are all very friendly, and the prices are very fair. They also have a good beer and liquor selection and a nice classic irish pub style ambiance. We will definitely be eating here again the next time we pass through Middletown with hungry stomachs!

Celtic is awesome! The food is always great and the quality is consistent visit after visit. The draft list always has a good mix of beers and the specialty mixed drinks are always worth a try. Hands down one of our favorite places to eat out in Middletown!!
