My husband and I went here for date night, it was very tiny and seating was scarce even though we went at 6 pm on a Wednesday. But other than the cramped interior this place was very pleasant. We hat the Shio and Shoyu Ramen dishes and an order or California rolls. Everything tasted great. We definitely would recommend it to friends who like Japanese food, but just be ready to be sat up in close quarters to strangers. It could be a good place to make friends if youre someone who doesnt mind bumping elbows now and then and making awkward small talk with the couple next to you

Incredible experience! Top quality cuisine and service, the friendliest staff anywhere, intimate (small, but somehow not claustrophobic) dining room, comfortable seating and warm ambience. The Spicy Miso Ramen is a delight, as good as Ive had anywhere, including Tokyo, and the sashimi is wonderful. Prices are typical for fast casual, and a real bargain considering the superb experience. As good as the food is, the courtesy and friendliness of the staff takes the whole dining experience to the next level. I cant wait to return and try the tonkatsu ramen special.

The food here is delicious and healthy. I have been eating here since they have opened and the quality of food had improved over time to be better and better. However on the weekends they are extremely busy due to popularity. I would suggest calling ahead if you are going to dine here on Friday and Saturday nights, other wise it can be an hour wait. No problem for me however, I eat earlier than most people, but by time I leave the place is packed. I also love the staff, they have a great sense humor and always make me feel welcome.

Average Ramen Menu. Average Sushi Menu. Everything else but the teriyaki chicken is fish or ginger related. Typical white-people Japanese fare. While all of that would be fine, our service was terrible (Slow, non responsive, did not even ask if we wanted drinks) and the teriyaki chicken was overcooked and dry while being quite a small portion. The Potato Salad was good but only about a tablespoon amount. My wife said the Ramen was underwhelming, as she expected something more anything to it.

Nice little hole in the wall place to get sushi or ramen. Service is top notch and the staff is very attentive. There are several specials of the day that rotate in and out. The menu has plenty of variety and consists of rice dishes, ramen dishes, vegetarian items, and sushi. Heads up: this place is very small so either be prepared to go during off hours or wait for a table. Also tables are pretty close together so its quite possible to hear each and everything the table next to you says.

The service is wonderful, and the food is superb! Truly the sushi is excellent, the ramen is flavorful and the sake always hit the spot. The Michu is sweet, and never frozen or crumbly. The decor is modern and cute. It is a small restaurant and I appreciate their lack of pretension - they are great and are quite content to remain small. It is a joy to come here even if we have to wait 20 minutes for one of the 6 tables!

I almost didnt want to review sakana out of fear it will become too popular. But it is too good not to. They mainly serve sushi and ramen. The curry ramen is my personal favorite with the spicy miso coming in a close second. The sushi is fantastic. Everything is reasonably priced. You wont be leaving hungry after a bowl of ramen. Sit at the sushi bar with Friends or take a table for a more personal experience.

Super warm staff, my friend has been learning Japanese and emersing himself in the culture. He found this place shortly after returning from a trip to Japan and loved it. They speak with him in Japanese with all the patience in the world but also spoke with me in English so i didnt feel left out :) such a cool experience plus AMAZING food! If you are in the area come eat here it was awesome

I havent had better Ramen anywhere in the denver metro! I have been to Sakana at least 10 times and have never been disappointed. The staff is super friendly and the vegetarian sushi options are the best Ive had. You wont have to suffer through just cucumber avocado and carrots here! The fermented soybean is a personal favorite.

Love this place. The food is fresh, the people are friendly and the atmosphere is serene. Its a small place but that only adds to its charm. Ive had both the sushi and Ramen and they are equally great in their own ways. Its the only place I like to go now. Ive even gone by myself just so I could relax and enjoy.

Great local eatery for sushi and ramen. Friendly staff, cozy and quaint atmosphere. Maybe a total of about 20 seats in the whole place so not good for very large groups. Most of Sept. 2016 they will be closed for maintenance as a sign in the restaurant reads. Will definitely visit again for a bite close to home.

Great sushi place that is close to home. Enjoyed majority of their ramen. The cure ramen was not what I expected it to be. The broth was like a beef stew sauce versus a thinner curry sauce. I do not recommend the curry ramen. All other ramen are delicious. Definitely add the soft cooked egg even though its $1.5!

Excellent sushi dining. Traditional. Sakana mans the line, cutting fresh exquisite fish as you order. His wife and daughter run the rest of the space. I love good sushi. The Ikura is very fresh. The scallops are excellent. Generous portions. The ramen is quite good, with an excellent broth.

I tried the Shio Ramen here which was very delicate taste and easy on you. Very balanced flavor stock which made the ramen very good. The owner focuses on sushi so ordering ramen here is not the main stream and I know his sushi is his forte. But glad that he offers very good ramen as well.

Best Japanese food in the area. I love the Chirashi- chef knows how to dress rice so you get a great bite every time. Cant wait for weather to cool down to try the Ramen. This is a really small restaurant-similar to Japanese restaurants in Japan. Check the hours as they are typical.

awesome sushi, fresh taste and delicately prepared, limited menu without the bells and whistles of the fried sushi joints, so great focus on preparation of fish. they brew their own soy sauce! staffing was too minimal so service suffered but if they can fix that we have a winner!

Chinese waitress is rude and takes so long to take the order. I felt like i was going to get free food when good is actually expensive. Screw this place. We left after waiting 15 minutes and the waitress was just passing by and i told her we were ready. I dont recommend it.
