Growing up just north of Philly, Ive been that annoying snot for my 10 years in Colorado who constantly just says ``eh the Italian food is better back east" as everyone else is enjoying their meal. Thank you thank you thank you Slate for being the cure to my ails! Me and my fiance go there every chance we get and are consistently amazed with how delicious and perfect every item is. They are great at creating simple harmonious dishes with a small number of ingredients that play off each other in magical ways. It is Italian food at its best! The service is always great and the owner Chris is a wonderful guy who gets to know his customers by name and runs a great show. Thank you Slate! :)

At first I was really impressed by this place because the salad and waitress were great for a bit. Then we ordered our entree. It took a hour to come out. We asked about it and the waitress didnt even apologize for the delay. We then we had to take it to go because we had to get my daughter from the babysitter. Since when does food take a HOUR to make?? We had to take the two worst dishes to go....chicken alfredo and cioppino. We then said something to the manager and she again did not even apologize for the delay. She gave us $10 off the meal. Thanks.....I will never eat here again.

We had such high hopes for another quality restaurant in downtown loveland. Unfortunately the lovely decor only served to distract us from the food. Everything we ordered was lacking. My pesto pasta was swimming and dripping with an unnecessary amount of oil and everything seemed to be lacking spices. The price hardly seemed justified considering the food was only on par with a large chain style eatery. It got two stars for atmosphere and service.

Ruined my wifes birthday. Had stopped by a few weeks ago for a glass of wine and cheese so we decided to return. Showed up shortly before 7, no wait got a table right away. Explained we needed to leave by 8 and immediately ordered a salad and the special to share. At 7:45 when the waiters said 8 more minutes we left. Thanks for ruining my wifes 35 birthday dinner. NEVER AGAIN!! By the way Ceaser salad sucked!

We ordered food to go. I expected it to be good, by looking at the menu. It was obvious they knew Italian food, but Slate Italian far exceeded our expectations. This food is "real" Italian food. We are taking our extended family soon. Slate Italian, we are referring all of our friends....EXCELLENT!!!

It was the Fire and Ice Festival so I understood they would be extra busy. However, we were told it was due to reservations but that we could sit at the bar. The Bartender was sweet but the food took an hour to arrive and it was bland at best with a lukewarm temp. For the price, I say skip it.

Had a birthday dinner there, six of us. We all had something different, all tasted each other and I must say all food was GREAT. The best Alfredo sauce, the mussels and garlic sauce, fantastic. Would recomend this place to friends.

Lovely waitress. Really awful food! A mountain of cauliflower with a smattering of overcooked zucchini and dry, burnt eggplant parm. Next time well stick to cheese and wine!

1st time here, Fantastic!!!! Chicken parmesan, Mac and Crab and the Bolognese sauce spaghetti were all delicious!! Great server great atmosphere and great food!!!

Great service even when they are busy. Suggest making a reservation as they get very busy during rushes. Prices are not too bad either.
